"It was a realy great hotel, on walking distance from everything we wanted to see and do. The room itself was really nice and the breakfast that was included was really good. Any breakfast where I can get boiled eggs is great but I mean this breakfast is extensively and of high quality! Never had my matcha dessert but maybe that was a good thing for my waistline. My friend said it was really good! I would definitely go back there! Just for the breakfast alone so only thing you need is kobe beef in the evening to have had enough food for the whole day."

"I booked a corner suite, and the room was huge with an amazing view. It had a massive jacuzzi, which was perfect for a relaxing soak after a day of shopping – I felt completely refreshed and ready to go again the next day! Though, I have to say, for Kobe, the price wasn't exactly cheap, so it really depends on what you're looking for. During the day, there are malls and an Aeon supermarket around the hotel, but there are no convenience stores nearby at night, which was a bit inconvenient. So, remember to stock up before heading back to the hotel. I didn't book breakfast as it seemed to be a set menu, which I'm not a fan of. Overall, it was a good experience. I'd definitely choose this hotel again if I come back to Kobe."

"First off, let's talk about the transportation. If you're taking the train, get off at JR Maiko Station; the hotel is a convenient 4-5 minute walk away. I initially saw that the hotel was marked as being closer to Kasumigaoka Station. So, I walked from JR Maiko Station to Maiko Park Station, transferred to a private railway for one stop to Kasumigaoka, and then took a small path to the hotel. It took me half a day to figure out the area and realize that JR Maiko Station was actually closer. 2) The large public bath is excellent, and it even has an outdoor section. The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge glass walkway nearby is definitely worth a visit. 3) The Mitsui Outlet Park is also great for shopping and very close by."

"The hotel lobby is quite grand, with old-school five-star configuration. It is normal that the rooms are a little old because the hotel is quite old. Overall, the service level is still relatively high compared to the five-star hotels such as Furama newly renovated in China 20 years ago. The rooms are spacious and soundproofed. I also received two instant noodles as gifts when I checked in on Women's Day (^.^)"

"We had a pleasant stay at Grand Nikko Awaji Hotel which is located at Awaji Yumebutai (淡路夢舞台). It takes less than 50 minutes from Kobe Sannomiya to Awaji Yumebutai by bus. The hotel room is clean and spacious, and all rooms face the sea. The hotel is part of Awaji Yumebutai complex with direct access to conference centre and various attractions such as Hyakudan-en Garden (百段苑) and Akashi Kaikyo Park (明石海峡公園)."

"The price was quite reasonable, and the room was suitable for families with children, even providing kids' yukata. The hot spring wasn't too crowded, and the souvenir shop had a good selection of items. Room service was also very prompt. They were flexible with breakfast even when our child woke up late. Downsides: The location is quite remote, requiring hotel shuttle service as there are no other shops nearby. There were fewer hot spring pools than expected, and the outdoor hot spring wasn't as good as anticipated. The staff guiding guests in and out of the hotel seemed very busy and a bit overwhelmed. The Kaiseki dinner is only suitable for adults; it would be better if there were buffet options for dinner and breakfast (though this might vary depending on the platform booking)."

"It seems to be frequented by local office workers and casual travelers. The rice balls and breakfast are also authentically Korean. There were at least two staff members who spoke Korean. However, after checking in, my card wouldn't work, so I had to go back and forth twice. The staff couldn't resolve the issue, so I gave up on Japanese and complained in English, and they finally resolved it. The room was spacious and comfortable, but the bedding had a slight odor. The public bath was decent (though still a bit stinky... avoid peak hours). And at night, the entire street is a nightlife hotspot, with many people in suits and women walking around. Ladies, please use the main road."

A very satisfying trip to Awaji Island was made even better by our hotel. Everything was arranged in the best way. We changed buses from Kyoto and confirmed the pick-up station through the Ctrip platform. When we arrived, it was still early, so we took the free shuttle bus to go shopping (with luggage back to the hotel). We used the coupons to buy lunch and ice cream at Hello Kitty. When checking in, the male waiters all kneel down to serve, and confirm the information of dinner and going out the next day. The room we stayed in is a single-family round house like a yurt with a viewing balcony and a wooden bath. The details of the room are all local characteristics (dressing box, free mini bar/dessert, washbasin are all petrified wood). The central roof is transparent and empty, and you can also observe the stars. We enjoyed the food here for 5 days, especially the dinner was not repeated and changed in various styles. What surprised me was that the waitress could perform saxophone and flute at dinner, and there was a restaurant like a stage on the island where you could also enjoy the waiter's musical performance. First off, the rooms were really clean and spacious. I booked a connecting room which was perfect for a big family; one room for the elders and one for the kids. The front desk gave us a room on the 10th floor with an ocean view. Below us were the Ocean Museum and Meriken Park, offering not just a wide-open view but also super convenient access for walking around with the kids. Secondly, there are attractions nearby like the Anpanman Children's Museum and Daimaru department store, both about 900 meters away. If it's under 30 degrees Celsius, you can easily walk there. We often took a taxi to Sannomiya, which only took about 5 minutes. Lastly, I have to praise the pool. The water was crystal clear and clean, with one large pool and a jacuzzi. Floats and armbands were available for free use, and the best part was, there was hardly anyone there! 3300 JPY per person was definitely worth it. The bakery in the lobby (I think it was called Camellia) was excellent. They restocked daily, and their bread was more authentic than most bakeries in Kobe.

My mother and I stayed here for our trip. The sunset view from the hotel was beautiful! The food, made with local ingredients, was also delicious. The live kitchen was a fun experience. My absolute favorite was the soft-serve ice cream and milk made from Awaji Island milk – they were so good I had a lot of them! Being able to customize them was a big plus. The hot springs were spacious and relaxing. The lounge also offered drinks and snacks, allowing us to unwind and shake off the fatigue of everyday life. I'd love to stay here again.

The hotel service and environment are excellent, offering a free shuttle service from the station to the hotel. The meals and private hot springs are highlights, making for a perfect overnight stay with two meals. The entire hot spring town also has six public hot spring pools, each with its own unique features. There are many charming little shops along the street to explore, offering a tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle, allowing you to relax and rejuvenate!

Food was great and Eri-san was very friendly and helpful. The room was really clean and love the private onsen with amazing view. I love how attentive Eri-san was as well, the timing in which the next meal came was impeccable, allowing me to enjoy the food thoroughly. Other ryokans I have stayed before (despite being more expensive), the breaks between the food served was very short and it felt like I was rushing to eat. The outdoor hotspring bath was great and perfect for people who cannot stand too high temperatures. Unfortunately, when we wanted to dip in Gekkoen's more traditional and older outdoor hotspring, it was being cleaned. Would love to try dipping in it the next time we visit again.

General impression: This is a super decent house with an excellent view of the kinosaki village. You could feel the management put lots of efforts to maintain the best comfort of every guest and the whole team operated under warm & effective process. While we are having breakfast or dinner in the dining area, their staff make a very efficient turn to change our yukata, towels, bottles of water, making up mattress on our room.That impressed us so much! Onsen quality: The onsen inside the house is well managed and run until mid night. We can go outside with the free pass of public onsens, but we also enjoy ourselves in the in-house onsen because of more accessories provided there. You can feel the onsen owner care about guests more than the public onsens outside. Dining experience: We enjoyed the half board experience for 2 nights, especially the 2nd night with the tajima beef sukiyaki. The flavors & taste feed us well. Though breakfast is a bit simple, but we could make up some room in our stomach to enjoy snacks or ice-cream in the village. My friend & I would definitely give 5 star rating to Yamamotoya, and will recommend our friends to visit you again.

This hotel was the most satisfying of our trip. It's located right in Meriken Park, and our room was a sea view, offering beautiful scenery both day and night. At first, I thought there was nothing around the hotel except the park. However, once we got our bearings, we found that Daimaru and BAL department stores were both within a 15-minute walk. On the other side, MO SAIC and umie shopping centers were also close by, making it convenient for shopping and dining. The hotel breakfast area was spacious, and the selection was quite varied. There's also a shuttle bus to Sannomiya Station, with the timetable available in the lobby. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

The hot spring is really big, and you can enjoy both the upstairs and downstairs pools for free. There's a shuttle bus to Sannomiya Station. The room views are absolutely stunning, perfect for couples. Breakfast was just okay, but overall, it's a great stay.

The price was quite reasonable, and the room was suitable for families with children, even providing kids' yukata. The hot spring wasn't too crowded, and the souvenir shop had a good selection of items. Room service was also very prompt. They were flexible with breakfast even when our child woke up late. Downsides: The location is quite remote, requiring hotel shuttle service as there are no other shops nearby. There were fewer hot spring pools than expected, and the outdoor hot spring wasn't as good as anticipated. The staff guiding guests in and out of the hotel seemed very busy and a bit overwhelmed. The Kaiseki dinner is only suitable for adults; it would be better if there were buffet options for dinner and breakfast (though this might vary depending on the platform booking).

A heartwarming and thoughtful mountain hotel experience. This hotel stay completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of genuine hospitality – there was a dedicated shuttle service directly from the station to the hotel, saving me the hassle of dragging my luggage around. The next day, I planned to explore the hot spring town at the foot of the mountain. The hotel proactively offered to store my luggage and deliver it to the station at the bottom of the mountain at the agreed time, completely freeing up my hands. The food was surprisingly delicious, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful pairings. The room was clean and comfortable, meticulously cleaned daily, and the common areas were also spotless. The service throughout was attentive yet unobtrusive. From the shuttle arrangements to the luggage storage, everything was efficient and heartwarming. It's truly perfect for travelers planning a hot spring trip. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit.
