"I'm fairly certain this hotel used to be the Daiwa Royal Hotel. I've stayed here many times before, even under its previous name, but this was my first visit since the rebranding. Considering the high price, the amenities provided were quite basic. On a positive note, the complimentary drinks and snacks were a nice touch. The most significant disappointment was the 50-minute wait for breakfast. Had this not been an issue, my stay would have been far more satisfactory. During peak times, such as the busy summer holiday season, I strongly suggest they consider expanding the breakfast area or increasing its capacity. Despite the wait, the breakfast itself was absolutely fantastic. Unfortunately, this lengthy delay significantly impacted our sightseeing plans for the day."

"This was my first time staying at Shimahana, and I was impressed by the quality of the New Awaji Group's service. I was able to fish at Yume Senkei and caught two sea bream, which they cooked and served for dinner that night, and it was delicious. The rest was neatly prepared and we were able to take home. Shimahana is located a little way off the coast, but they provided transportation to and from the hot springs, so we were able to enjoy it without any problems. I would like to stay here again"

"This hotel is located halfway between Osaka and Kobe, a spot most guests wouldn't typically choose as it's inconvenient for both cities. It primarily caters to tour groups from Hong Kong and Taiwan, offering bus transfers to and from Osaka, which makes travel easier for them. It's like visiting Shanghai but having your travel agency book your accommodation in Kunshan to save money. The hotel is conveniently located, just a five-minute walk from both Koshien Stadium and the JR station. Right downstairs, there's a shopping mall with a large Aeon supermarket on B2, which offers tax-free services and dedicated counters for medicine and gifts. It's super convenient for shopping, closing at 10 PM. On the 7th floor, there are vending machines, a microwave for heating food, and an ice machine. The lobby restaurant can get quite crowded during breakfast, so I'd recommend going during off-peak hours. It can be quite overwhelming when a large tour group all comes down at once."

It was a bit tricky finding the exit from the train station, but the hotel staff gave us directions and we managed to find our way. A very satisfying trip to Awaji Island was made even better by our hotel. Everything was arranged in the best way. We changed buses from Kyoto and confirmed the pick-up station through the Ctrip platform. When we arrived, it was still early, so we took the free shuttle bus to go shopping (with luggage back to the hotel). We used the coupons to buy lunch and ice cream at Hello Kitty. When checking in, the male waiters all kneel down to serve, and confirm the information of dinner and going out the next day. The room we stayed in is a single-family round house like a yurt with a viewing balcony and a wooden bath. The details of the room are all local characteristics (dressing box, free mini bar/dessert, washbasin are all petrified wood). The central roof is transparent and empty, and you can also observe the stars. We enjoyed the food here for 5 days, especially the dinner was not repeated and changed in various styles. What surprised me was that the waitress could perform saxophone and flute at dinner, and there was a restaurant like a stage on the island where you could also enjoy the waiter's musical performance. The 20,000 consumption vouchers given for 5 days are enough for you to go out for free at noon. We also bought Hello Kitty exclusive gifts for the children at the Big Apple with the vouchers. This trip to Awaji Island is more memorable than the trip to Kyoto, and the people are simple and honest. Everyone is working hard to promote tourism in Awaji Island, which is worthy of praise. I will bring my children here next time.

The service was excellent! I believe true old-money style is all about staying calm and unruffled, and this hotel's smart facilities and attentive staff perfectly embody that. I arrived quite late, and the hotel was very thoughtful, upgrading me to a sea-view room. I went out for a day to the hot springs and returned to extend my stay, and they continued to upgrade my room. During my stay, it rained, and I took one of the hotel's umbrellas. I accidentally picked up someone else's umbrella when I returned, but the front desk kindly kept the wrong umbrella and exchanged it for the correct one. All in all, the service was superb, and the smiling service was very much appreciated.

Overall, a wonderful place. We highly recommend it. It was a wonderful walk from the station to the hotel, and we were greeted with the utmost courtesy, explained everything, and shown around. We were shown to our room and given instructions. We booked a traditional room with futons, and the view from the window was simply stunning. The onsen includes two hot springs, a comfortable changing area with massage chairs, a sauna, and a cold plunge pool. They give free passes to seven public baths in the village. There's a shuttle that takes you to various walking spots. The prices are reasonable. The breakfast buffet was wonderful. We were very satisfied and would love to come back!

I don't speak Japanese, only a little English, so I was worried I wouldn't understand the check-in explanation. To my surprise, I actually understood it, and the staff member who explained everything was very thoughtful with their language. There's a shuttle service, and if you don't speak Japanese and want the driver to pick you up, you can ask for help at the Arima Town Tourist Information Center.

By far the best hotel/resort experience I ever encountered. Not only did we travel with a family of 5 but we had 10 luggage’s in total which they helped to organise and deliver to our room even though it was really heavy. Accommodated to everything that we need and asked and super welcoming. The small details that they would do have imprinted in my memories for life e.g remembering which shoes we had, prepared our slippers, explaining our meals and providing a blanket without us asking. I hope this reaches out to the manager who put the most effort to making sure we were happy and looked after. We would all recommend this place to our families and friends. 1000/10 S+++

The hotel has a unique design and is located in Meriken Park, Kobe Port. Standing on the balcony and gazing out at the sea, it feels as if you're on a real ship's deck. During check-in, the hotel thoughtfully provides drinks, coffee, and snacks. I initially thought it was very far from the JR station, but after getting familiar with the area, I realized the location is quite good. It's a 10-15 minute walk to Daimaru and Motomachi. It's worth noting that the hotel shuttle bus times provided by Trip.com are incorrect; the shuttle actually runs quite frequently, not just once an hour. I even took photos for other travelers' reference.

The hot spring is really big, and you can enjoy both the upstairs and downstairs pools for free. There's a shuttle bus to Sannomiya Station. The room views are absolutely stunning, perfect for couples. Breakfast was just okay, but overall, it's a great stay.

A heartwarming and thoughtful mountain hotel experience. This hotel stay completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of genuine hospitality – there was a dedicated shuttle service directly from the station to the hotel, saving me the hassle of dragging my luggage around. The next day, I planned to explore the hot spring town at the foot of the mountain. The hotel proactively offered to store my luggage and deliver it to the station at the bottom of the mountain at the agreed time, completely freeing up my hands. The food was surprisingly delicious, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful pairings. The room was clean and comfortable, meticulously cleaned daily, and the common areas were also spotless. The service throughout was attentive yet unobtrusive. From the shuttle arrangements to the luggage storage, everything was efficient and heartwarming. It's truly perfect for travelers planning a hot spring trip. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit.

This colonial-style hotel is imbued with a strong maritime theme from the lobby to the bar, restaurant, and executive lounge. Every detail, from the ceiling fans, shutters, telescopes, heavy wooden desks, and leather chairs in the rooms, to the tropical plants and wicker weaving in the restaurant, and the magenta swan display rack and fabric sofas in the lobby, exudes a refined charm with a sense of history. The hotel breakfast was also quite good, with a satisfying variety and excellent quality. This time, my room included a minibar and executive lounge access. The minibar was superb, with delicious complimentary chocolates and snacks for drinks, as well as local beer and fresh juices. However, please note that the executive lounge does not allow children, so unfortunately, I couldn't experience it fully this time, only went in for a quick look. My child did get a huge, delicious cookie. I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Kobe!
