"Right at Nagano Station! There's a connecting passage on the second floor of the hotel that leads directly to Nagano Station. The location is excellent! The hotel has a luxurious feel, reminiscent of an economic boom. The room was standard, quite spacious. The facilities weren't brand new, but they weren't uncomfortably old either. The room was generally clean and comfortable. The hotel breakfast was decent, with a good variety of options. If you plan to spend your days exploring the mountains and returning on the same day without staying overnight, this hotel is highly recommended!"

"The room was spacious and clean, allowing me to relax comfortably. I really appreciated the wide variety of soups at the breakfast buffet, which is great even for those with a smaller appetite in the morning. Everything was delicious! It was also a nice touch to be able to order extra amenities via tablet and even try out the Repronizer. The staff were all very pleasant, and I was extremely satisfied. It was incredibly quiet, which was surprising for being right in the heart of Old Karuizawa, and being able to walk to popular tourist spots and restaurants was a huge plus. I'd love to stay here again."

"Stayed here several times before, and this visit felt noticeably different. One positive change is that the lounge has been relocated from the lobby to the third floor, making the space feel much more open and comfortable, without guests having to crowd together. However, the shortened meal service times were disappointing. Reducing breakfast hours is understandable, but shortening dinner service by an additional 30 minutes to only 90 minutes made the experience feel rushed. Given the size of the dining area and the number of guests, collecting food itself takes time. More importantly, one of the reasons people choose to visit Nagano is to enjoy a slower and more relaxed atmosphere. With only 90 minutes allocated for dinner, there is hardly enough time to comfortably enjoy the meal itself, let alone finish with coffee and dessert. I understand that rising operating costs may require adjustments, and I appreciate the hotel’s efforts to manage within budget. However, as group tourism increases, maintaining the experience expected by individual travelers becomes increasingly important. Unfortunately, this time it felt that both the dining quality and the dining time had been reduced simultaneously, and the decline in quality was noticeable. Overall, I still appreciate the improvements to the common areas, but I hope the hotel can reconsider how to balance operational efficiency with the quality of the guest experience."

"The hotel's decor is incredibly elegant, simple yet with thoughtful details everywhere. Every staff member I encountered made me feel seen and cared for; they were so patient and meticulous. In the evening, there's a happy hour where you can enjoy drinks, lie on the sofa by the fire, and just relax – even in July, Karuizawa nights can be a bit chilly. The hotel also offers a variety of bath salts by the elevator, which is a blessing for anyone who enjoys a good soak. On the second day, the hotel provided free bicycles, perfect for exploring the area. Lastly, a shout-out to the breakfast – it was a set menu with options, and even my husband, who rarely eats Western food, gave it his approval. We've decided to return during the winter ski season!"

A well-known hot spring in the Inaji area of Shinshu region, Tatsuno-Kojinyama Onsen. We are proud of the panoramic view enjoyable in every season and the natural hot spring.
"The firefly at night was very good. I think I didn't see it like that when I went by myself, and I don't know the way well, and I think it was dangerous. It was kinder to guide you, and I was very happy to answer various questions. (I participated alone) I well understand that Tatsuno Cho is putting emphasis on fireflies by raising towns. I think it is thankful that you will protect valuable resources from now on. I think the dishes are standard, but the price was not so high and the room was beautiful. The quality of the hot spring was very good. The view is the best. It was one of the good memories of my trip that I sent to ina Shinmachi, an unmanned station. I thought that check-out was 10 o'clock earlier than 1 hour, and I wanted it to be at least 11 o'clock to slow down."

The hotel's forest hot spring (separate for men and women) features floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the snow or lush trees, offering a truly therapeutic experience. The property includes a main building and forest cabins, all surrounded by trees, ensuring a quiet and peaceful stay. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. The cabins come with a private garden and an outdoor hot spring, definitely worth staying in."

The atmosphere was very intelligent, calm, and set the perfect mood for an unforgettable vacation. "The hotel lobby is spacious and beautiful, and they offer welcome drinks. You have to pick up amenities from the lobby, and the staff's service is very polite. When they knew we were driving, they automatically came out to help with our luggage. However, getting to the room was a bit inconvenient; we had to go up a few steps before reaching the elevator. It was a bit heavy to carry suitcases up, even though it was only a few steps. The room was large, and the cleanliness was acceptable. Plus, it had a smart TV with YouTube, Netflix, etc. Overall, for Japan, this hotel is quite large and good."

Overall, this was a rather disappointing hotel stay. Before our trip, our plans changed, and we asked the Trip.com concierge to help with cancellation/modifications. However, they were unyielding, and we couldn't cancel for free, so we had to proceed as planned. After checking in, I waited alone in the waiting area for a long time, expecting a staff member to accompany me to the room and explain the facilities. I waited for half an hour with no one attending to me. When a large group of tourists arrived, the front desk became crowded. After inquiring again, I was told there was no escort service to the rooms and I had to find my way myself. At 3:30 PM, housekeeping was still ongoing in the room areas. The room space was cramped, and the view was unremarkable. For a room rate of over 4,000 yuan, the hardware and service provided were far from satisfactory. The hotel's Italian restaurant had decent food, but it wasn't positioned as a high-end restaurant, and the wine list was very limited. The next day, I asked the front desk to call a taxi to the restaurant. For some reason, perhaps they didn't understand English, there was a long delay. After further communication, a car was arranged half an hour later, which was baffling. Considering all these experiences, I will not choose this hotel again in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at the Mampei Hotel. The hotel is beautifully designed inside and out, the staff are fantastic, and the meals we had for breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner were all delicious, as were drinks at the iconic hotel bar. Highly recommended and we will definitely stay again.

We spent 2 nights in Prince after first 2 nights in Kusatsu onsen town. The hotel looked underwhelming on arrival and the front office service was efficient but cursory compared to the warm hospitality we had in the ryokan stay. It was low season and hotel was very quiet and had a ”cold” atmosphere. I was further disappointed when we were shown our room which was on the lowest floor with a simple garden view. On requesting the check-in staff for a change of room on higher floor and a more scenic view, I was told there is an upgrade charge, which I accepted. The new room was the same size and configuration but on a higher floor with a nice view of Mt Asama. While I was happy to pay the fee, I can't help but compare their practice with all the hotels that I have stayed in all these years, where room changes were complimentary so long as the room type remains the same. Nevertheless, the hotel's facilities delighted me immensely and I enjoyed the overall experience. The highlight of the hotel stay was the fantastic view of Asama in a high ceiling dining room with full glass window. We were able to have different table seatings for both morning breakfast as the hotel occupancy was low, which gave us different perspectives of the scenery. The other highlight of the hotel is the onsen facility which is located in a separate building on higher ground, accessible via a self service automated tram. Aside from Asama view in the outdoor onsens, there is a common lounge which has equally awesome view of Asama. We enjoyed our time soaking in onsen and resting in the lounge. Was I would go back to Prince Asama and experience the scenery during a different season!

I stayed here alone and really enjoyed my trip. The whole hotel had a wonderfully tranquil atmosphere, allowing me to relax and unwind surrounded by Hakuba's nature. My room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The hot spring bath was fantastic, perfect for soothing my tired body after a day of sightseeing. The staff were consistently polite and attentive, which made my stay even more pleasant. Breakfast offered a great variety, including local ingredients, leaving me feeling satisfied every morning. The hotel's quiet surroundings were lovely for walks, and its location, immersed in Hakuba's natural beauty, was a real highlight. It's also a convenient base for exploring. I would definitely want to stay here again if I visit Hakuba in the future.

Stayed here several times before, and this visit felt noticeably different. One positive change is that the lounge has been relocated from the lobby to the third floor, making the space feel much more open and comfortable, without guests having to crowd together. However, the shortened meal service times were disappointing. Reducing breakfast hours is understandable, but shortening dinner service by an additional 30 minutes to only 90 minutes made the experience feel rushed. Given the size of the dining area and the number of guests, collecting food itself takes time. More importantly, one of the reasons people choose to visit Nagano is to enjoy a slower and more relaxed atmosphere. With only 90 minutes allocated for dinner, there is hardly enough time to comfortably enjoy the meal itself, let alone finish with coffee and dessert. I understand that rising operating costs may require adjustments, and I appreciate the hotel’s efforts to manage within budget. However, as group tourism increases, maintaining the experience expected by individual travelers becomes increasingly important. Unfortunately, this time it felt that both the dining quality and the dining time had been reduced simultaneously, and the decline in quality was noticeable. Overall, I still appreciate the improvements to the common areas, but I hope the hotel can reconsider how to balance operational efficiency with the quality of the guest experience.

The room was spacious and clean, with excellent facilities, including an onsen. The hotel parking lot was large, which was very convenient for guests traveling by car. The onsen here is fantastic, both indoor and outdoor. Breakfast was delicious and varied, made with high-quality ingredients. The staff were all very friendly and cheerful. The views and atmosphere around the hotel were superb.

Hotel Marroad is just a few minutes by the shuttle bus from the station , and it can also be reached on foot. We booked a room for 4 people and the room size is good at a very reasonable price (include breakfast). The fixtures are a bit old. However, the room and the amenities are very clean. We come to skiing and the hotel has a rental service (much cheaper than you rent at the ski field) which is very convenient. Also, they send us to ski field every day. Staff can speak little English, but they are all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is delicious, and it is a must try.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this resort. From the moment I arrived, the staff greeted me with genuine warmth and professionalism, making me feel instantly at home. Every detail—from the comfortable rooms to the delicious dining options—was carefully curated to ensure a memorable experience. I was especially impressed by how impeccably clean everything was, including the public bathrooms and hot spring area. The staff cleaned up immediately after use, which made the whole environment feel fresh and cared for. I truly appreciate the team’s dedication to hospitality and excellence, and I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a perfect getaway. We are deeply grateful for the extraordinary care shown by the hotel assistant Akemi during our stay. When we were unexpectedly stuck in the snow in a remote area, she walked alone to find us and kindly offered assistance to call for tow truck support. She then guided us safely back to the hotel, even though we had already checked out, and welcomed us with tea and biscuits to keep us warm while we waited. Her thoughtfulness and dedication went far beyond duty, and her kindness turned a stressful situation into a touching memory. Thank you sincerely for such genuine hospitality—it is something we will never forget.

Right at Nagano Station! There's a connecting passage on the second floor of the hotel that leads directly to Nagano Station. The location is excellent! The hotel has a luxurious feel, reminiscent of an economic boom. The room was standard, quite spacious. The facilities weren't brand new, but they weren't uncomfortably old either. The room was generally clean and comfortable. The hotel breakfast was decent, with a good variety of options. If you plan to spend your days exploring the mountains and returning on the same day without staying overnight, this hotel is highly recommended!
