"Out of all the hotels we stayed at on our trip, the DoubleTree by Hilton was definitely our favorite, followed by Hampton and Holiday Inn. Sticking with chain hotels really does save you from bad experiences. This particular DoubleTree is located in the Cotswolds, making it super convenient for visiting the nearby towns. Before checking in, we popped over to Bibury. As the sun set and the tourists left, the town was absolutely serene and beautiful! We had planned to wake up early the next day to experience the peaceful beauty of Bourton-on-the-Water before the crowds arrived, but the youngsters just couldn't get out of bed, so that plan fell through. There's a local supermarket right next to the hotel, which has a great selection and good prices – perfect for stocking up on snacks if you're driving. The breakfast was delicious, and the welcome cookies were a lovely treat. The environment is beautiful, and I'd definitely recommend it. If you're driving to the Cotswolds, staying here is an excellent choice!"

"I used this hotel as a stop off location, the 24hr check in desk came in real handy as I arrived at 2am. Room was clean, no issues with noise and a good set of amenities. Staff were kind and professional, nice stay overall. Will definitely pop by again, hopefully I'll have more time to use the fitness suite. The only thing that bugged me was the pay for parking which I didn't realise, so i paid £7 for parking at the reception when i arrived. Come morning, I've packed up, walked to the car, and gone to leave and the gate states I need to pay £12 to leave. I have to then reverse from the barrier before anyone else comes, park back up and walk back to the reception for them to tell me it's a glitch and that it doesn't sync up sometimes, this just added to an already tight turnaround timings wise. Hopefully they get this fixed."

"Disappointed at first off when I found out I had to pay a further £5 for parking my car. First appearance was it seemed very dated. The room was ok, bed clean and comfortable, tea, coffee making facilities. TV was a limited on stations, but absolutely no WiFi or if there was it wasn’t available in my room. Noise from the next door room, and from upstairs in particular was unbearable, I think they must have been real heavyweights as every step across their room was vibrating down through my ceiling, and at one point sounded like they were jumping off the bed it was so loud, I actually thought they would be coming through. The bathroom had really seen better days, felt grubby, mould on the ceiling, plugs in both the bath and the sink were old and broken, and the bath itself had seen better days, but on a positive note the towels were clean. All in all I didn’t feel it was worth the £72 plus parking fees and wouldn’t recommend, unless you could get it for less than £40 Max."

"Lovely hotel. Brand new so immaculate and very clean. Roof top bar and view over Glos great place for drinks. They need more cushions though and seating uncomfortable if you don’t manage to sit on a cushioned chair. Wine okay- limited rose options. Room well designed and high tech offerings such as coffee machine, milk in the fridge and biscuits. No earl grey tea or oat milk options sadly. Hairdryer and steamer all top tech. Shower powerful and spacious. Products fresh and okay quality. Comfy bed and air con. Dressing gown missing the belt!"

"Very beautiful resort hotel, halfway up the mountain, very quiet, suitable for a small weekend holiday, need to drive by yourself. The room is large and clean. There is heating to turn on. It can be imagined that the British summer mountain is really cold. The quality of breakfast is very high, there are some in the English breakfast, the fruit variety is rich, the price ratio is very high."

"Perfect stay! Staff were lovely, food was good and thanks to Leann & Tyler for going above & beyond and making our trip all the more memorable! Food was enjoyable and fresh. The spa and massage were lovely, and the jacuzzi was powerful and warm. Dinner was excellent, and the wait for it was worth it. Definitely reccomend the lamb dish! The breakfast was generous and we enjoyed all of it apart from the mushrooms as they were a bit plain. The superior king bed we booked was slightly uncomfortable due to it being two twins pushed together, but the room was very spacious, clean and aesthetically pleasing. We would stay again, thanks for having us!"

"I was very satisfied with this hotel. The hotel garden was beautifully maintained and the rooms we booked were clean. Because there were 8 of us, the restaurant opened a room for us. The dinner was delicious. I personally liked the lamb chops. The service charge was more than 400 per person. The breakfast was good. In addition to the public area, you can also order. It was very pleasant to stroll around the nearby Lower Strau Village in the early morning."

"I stayed here with my family on Saturday night, as it was a nice close location to a car show we attended at Prescott (just 18 minute drive away). My whole family were thrilled with the hotel. The staff were welcoming and friendly and very helpful. The hotel itself is really cosy, clean and stylish - it had absolutely everything we needed. Our rooms were comfortable, the air con was superb and we had all the toiletries we could have needed. The location is fantastic - we absolutely loved having all the restaurants just across the road and shops so nearby. It really is a wonderful area. The breakfast was AMAZING!!! We could not have wanted for more. We will definitely go back when next visiting Cheltenham and can highly recommend."

I used this hotel as a stop off location, the 24hr check in desk came in real handy as I arrived at 2am. Room was clean, no issues with noise and a good set of amenities. Staff were kind and professional, nice stay overall. Will definitely pop by again, hopefully I'll have more time to use the fitness suite. The only thing that bugged me was the pay for parking which I didn't realise, so i paid £7 for parking at the reception when i arrived. Come morning, I've packed up, walked to the car, and gone to leave and the gate states I need to pay £12 to leave. I have to then reverse from the barrier before anyone else comes, park back up and walk back to the reception for them to tell me it's a glitch and that it doesn't sync up sometimes, this just added to an already tight turnaround timings wise. Hopefully they get this fixed.

Have stayed here several times and usually have a good experience, except for the breakfast arrangements at the beefeater next door. On this occasion, we arrived with relatives in their 80s to find the rooms that had been refurbished and only completed that day, had no electricity. There was only one person on the desk, and it was a busy day in mid Dec. The poor girl fried frantically to get the electric working in both rooms, for over an hour, eventually moving us to other rooms on another floor, but again, no electric. We we're beginning to give up hope. Already feeling low as we were attending a younger relatives' funeral the next day. But after 90 minutes, she finally succeeded by using 2 key cards in the lighting slot, giving us light. Needless to say we were all tired and weary. To her credit she offered a refund for the cost of breakfast to compensate, and on feeding our experience back to Premier Inn, they also discounted the cost of the rooms. So we were happy with that, and generally we would stay here again. Our only other gripe is with the arrangement for breakfast in the beefeater accross the carpark. Having booked full English breakfast, that is what you expect. But being asked on arrival have you paid or not is poor practice, and would expect the booking in and restaurant services to be linked, so that question becomes mute. Then to go through each item in the English breakfast menu to be asked how many of each item is required is really unacceptable. I do hope they seriously explore a better way to greet and serve their customers. Most hotels would usually just ask your room number, which tells them if you have paid for breakfast or not, and then serve you the item as listed on the menu.

Great location. A very nice spa. The hotel room is unfortunately quite old, the shower was cold, the bed was uncomfortable and the walls are very thin making it hard to sleep.

Out of all the hotels we stayed at on our trip, the DoubleTree by Hilton was definitely our favorite, followed by Hampton and Holiday Inn. Sticking with chain hotels really does save you from bad experiences. This particular DoubleTree is located in the Cotswolds, making it super convenient for visiting the nearby towns. Before checking in, we popped over to Bibury. As the sun set and the tourists left, the town was absolutely serene and beautiful! We had planned to wake up early the next day to experience the peaceful beauty of Bourton-on-the-Water before the crowds arrived, but the youngsters just couldn't get out of bed, so that plan fell through. There's a local supermarket right next to the hotel, which has a great selection and good prices – perfect for stocking up on snacks if you're driving. The breakfast was delicious, and the welcome cookies were a lovely treat. The environment is beautiful, and I'd definitely recommend it. If you're driving to the Cotswolds, staying here is an excellent choice!

Here’s a polished, warm, and genuinely glowing review that flows beautifully and captures everything you experienced at The Bear of Rodborough: --- We spent a wonderful weekend at The Bear of Rodborough, staying on Friday and Saturday night, and it was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. The hotel itself is full of charm, with a beautiful setting and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast was included both mornings and was a real highlight. It was such a refreshing change to have a cooked‑to‑order breakfast rather than a full buffet, while still being able to help ourselves to fruit, yoghurt, and pastries. Everything was fresh and delicious. We chose to dine at the hotel restaurant on both evenings, and the food was exceptional. The style is very much modern, refined cuisine, and both the duck and the stone bass were beautifully cooked and full of flavour. It felt special without being pretentious. The hotel also has a pub, which has a great atmosphere and adds to the overall charm of the place. Whether you want a relaxed drink or a cosy corner to unwind in, it’s a lovely space. Throughout our stay, the staff were consistently attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to make sure everything was perfect. Their warmth really added to the experience. All in all, we had a truly lovely stay and would happily recommend The Bear of Rodborough to anyone visiting the Cotswolds. We’d love to return.

The Mousetrap Inn proved to be an excellent choice for our recent getaway. The location is absolutely perfect – just a pleasant walk to the main town, giving us easy access to local attractions, shops, and restaurants while enjoying peaceful surroundings. What truly made our stay memorable was the genuinely friendly staff. From check-in to checkout, every team member was welcoming and helpful, going out of their way to ensure we had everything needed. Their local knowledge and recommendations enhanced our entire visit. The included breakfast was a real highlight and exceptional value. Fresh, well-prepared options with plenty of variety kept us satisfied each morning before exploring. It's rare to find complimentary breakfast that actually exceeds expectations. The inn maintains a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that perfectly matches its charming name. Disappointed at first off when I found out I had to pay a further £5 for parking my car. First appearance was it seemed very dated. The room was ok, bed clean and comfortable, tea, coffee making facilities. TV was a limited on stations, but absolutely no WiFi or if there was it wasn’t available in my room. Noise from the next door room, and from upstairs in particular was unbearable, I think they must have been real heavyweights as every step across their room was vibrating down through my ceiling, and at one point sounded like they were jumping off the bed it was so loud, I actually thought they would be coming through. The bathroom had really seen better days, felt grubby, mould on the ceiling, plugs in both the bath and the sink were old and broken, and the bath itself had seen better days, but on a positive note the towels were clean. All in all I didn’t feel it was worth the £72 plus parking fees and wouldn’t recommend, unless you could get it for less than £40 Max.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for my 60th birthday. With my daughter. The views are breathtaking and the hotel its self . Great location the staff are very welcoming and courteous. There is lots of parking , unfortunately we did not get a chance to use the spa facilities. Our only negative thing was our room although lovely the carpet had a few stains on it and our windows did not open easily , and the entrance hall to our room was very dirty we had been given a room in the grounds outside of the hotel and for the cost of our stay we were very disappointed after seeing such elegance,with the main Hotel and the lobby etc . We had also been given a room with a bathroom that was more suited to someone who needed more support and although there was nothing wrong with that , it would of been nice to have had a choice of a bath as well and we felt someone else might have benefited more with this set up on their stay.

Loved staying at the Bell. Right opposite Tewkesbury Abbey, you couldn’t ask for a better location. Free parking is a real bonus here too and the location is close to the Severn Way walk, for walks down to Deerhurst and beyond. Friendly , engaging , genuine, and sometimes fun, service and attention from all the staff made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was so worth the price, and huge portions too! We also stayed for dinner one night ( had a great Indian at the Raj the second night) and were so nicely surprised. Being a ‘pub chain’ hotel you sometimes think the food might be quite bland and corporate but the chefs here know what they are doing. So happy with the food. One or two minor grumbles might be the traffic noise, as our room was on the road ( so wore earplugs and fine) and the very soft bed, but meh, it was fine really. We would more than likely stay again if passing through this way in the future.
