"My room wasn't huge, but it was very clean. The staff were excellent, and they offer a free airport shuttle service – just contact them in advance, and they'll be waiting for you at the exit with a sign with your name on it. It's also very close to the airport. The next day when I checked out, I didn't have a taxi app, so the staff helped me call a car and even exchanged 100 RMB for me to pay for the taxi. After the taxi arrived, the staff helped me with my luggage all the way to the car. Highly recommend!"

"The rooms are this hotel are very nice. The location is perfect. The service levels are very high. All the staff are very friendly and helpful. In particular, Monika and Besang in the restaurant, Sita and Binita for the cleaning service, and all the security staff. Overall, our stay here was very good. The breakfast is very good, with a nice variety. If I could suggest some improvements, it would be fresh pastries for breakfast and maybe some alternatives to cows milk such as oat or almond milk. The other thing is, the gym needs a total refresh. I recommend staying here. It is a very good offer overall. Thank you for giving us a pleasant stay."

"Stayed for a week, had no problems. Beautiful hotel, rare green site in Tamel, air conditioner, hot water, Wi-fi and the lights are on even during blackouts, wonderful helpful staff who all speak good English. Could use a dehumidifier during monsoon season, but all in all the best hotel in the area for miles👍"

"As always, a great place to stay in Thamel. My husband and I stayed here 4 times over our month in Nepal in between treks, travel, and retreats. The service is great. They upgrade a lot of people on their first day which is a nice touch, but you can’t always expect it. In any case, the regular rooms are great too. The main plus is that the rooms are very big and have plenty of room for organizing your belongings. The breakfast at the hotel is great."

"Great value for money, excellent location, and the breakfast caters well to Chinese palates. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. A special shout-out to Sasha at the front desk who was incredibly helpful in arranging a taxi to the airport. And the cheerful Nepalese lady was also wonderful!"

"The hotel location is excellent, fantastic breakfast,staff cooperation everywhere was excellent. This hotel is not a four star hotel according to the Nepal hospitality...it clearly shows it's a three star hotel and all the facilities are related to three star or below. The rooms are small,if staying with a couple or with a girlfriend is fine but if it's staying with two individuals it is very difficult moving and keeping the baggage, and other things. The windows are fixed and can't open. I will say again that the staff were fantastic."

"The whole hotel system seems to be created with foreigners in mind. I stayed for 2 nights, while my family stayed for 3 nights. I originally booked the 2 nights through Trip.com. When I wanted to add an extra day, I was informed it was better to book it again online. At that time, I was in Nepal for 3 days and my phone was being repaired in Hong Kong, so I didn’t have access to my usual email or digital wallet. I had Nepali cash, but the payment system wouldn’t allow it, and I was denied the option to add more nights directly at the front desk. I tried booking again using my temporary phone, but the credit/card wouldn’t allow it—possibly because the phone and location were new and my digital wallet couldn’t be used. The only solution was asking a friend to book the additional night for me. This experience made me feel that the system is not friendly to Nepali guests and that they may strongly prefer online foreign-currency-style payment methods rather than Nepali rupees. I also tried to get the Nepali rate. It was around NPR 12,000–15,000, while the online rate was significantly cheaper. Based on the current currency conversion, the price difference felt like it could be about 3,000–5,000 rupees less online. This also made me feel they may not truly support Nepali pricing equally. The front desk staff were sometimes helpful, but they often didn’t seem genuine. Some staff seemed reluctant and not truly welcoming or happy to assist. In contrast, the only people who felt consistently happy to see me amd my family were the housekeeping staff and the guards. About the room it’s a bit small. I took a long warm shower, and after a while the water started leaking toward the bedroom corridor. However, there were also positives—despite being in Kathmandu, the tap had good water flow and the water color looked clear, not yellowish (and not as low-flow). Overall, the stay didn’t feel welcoming to me or my family. I’m not sure if this is because the system is designed not to cater well to Nepali guests, or simply because the staff attitude was “blah.” Would I stay again? It feels like 50–50. My honest advice is: if you’re not Nepali, you will love it. But if you are Nepali and want to feel genuinely welcomed, you should think carefully—because you could spend the same amount or much more less at a family-owned business and likely feel much more respected and welcomed."

"A Lovely Stay at Kumari Boutique Hotel We had a really pleasant stay at Kumari Boutique Hotel in Kathmandu. The hotel was comfortable, clean, and conveniently located, but what truly stood out to us was the excellent staff and their warm hospitality. A special mention to the Front Office Supervisor she was incredibly kind, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. She was always approachable and genuinely willing to assist us whenever we needed anything. I would definitely recommend that other guests feel comfortable approaching her for any help or assistance during their stay. Her friendly attitude made us feel very welcome and well taken care of. The entire staff was friendly, attentive, and accommodating, which made our experience even more enjoyable. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Kumari Boutique Hotel and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Kathmandu. The wonderful staff, especially the Front Office Supervisor, were definitely one of the highlights of our stay. We would be very happy to stay here again!"

"The hotel's service was excellent; the staff were very friendly and proactively checked in on guests' needs. During this stay, I had to leave to seek medical attention and wasn't able to stay in the room much. When I returned, they kindly asked about my well-being and even brought me a meal since I missed breakfast. The facilities are also top-notch; the massage environment and service were superb! The only minor downside is that the soundproofing in the rooms could be better."
