Great location, excellent environment, facilities, and service. It's really convenient for getting around. You can even visit Chunyang Palace for free just by showing your hotel room key! Plus, the price was right. Next time I'm in Taiyuan, I'll definitely choose Shanxi Grand Hotel again!

The service attitude was exceptionally good. When a line started forming for check-in, more staff immediately came to the front desk to assist. They also offer late check-out. The room service was impeccable, and they provided a crib. There were complimentary welcome fruits. The breakfast selection was quite rich, including knife-cut noodles and freshly ground coffee at the counter. The overall environment was very good, fitting the description of an older, established five-star hotel. I requested a non-smoking room in advance, and indeed, there was no smoke smell. The bathroom drain didn't have any unpleasant odors either; generally, there were no strange smells. The window could be opened, which at least prevented stuffiness. In late May, after 8 PM, the air conditioning could be turned on for cooling. The shower water pressure was excellent, which was a big plus. The family deluxe suite had two bedrooms and two bathrooms with a connecting door, which was the main reason I chose this hotel. The room size was ample. The only downside was that the mattress was too soft. The hairdryer was a Dyson model, and the sink was large enough for three people to use simultaneously. The soundproofing was good, and overall, I was very satisfied. The cleanliness was also up to standard. I had read reviews about staff helping with luggage, and traveling by car with an infant, I was really hoping for some assistance. However, no one was at the parking lot. Perhaps this service isn't available unless there's special weather. Parking was very convenient though.

I booked this hotel in advance for our May Day holiday trip to Taiyuan. It's an established five-star hotel, and both the facilities and service are top-notch. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. It's super convenient to get to, right outside Exit A2 of Changfeng Street Station on Metro Line 2. Plus, it's next to Tianmei Xintiandi, a bustling commercial area, and taxis are always easy to find. We visited Zhonglou Street, Liuxiang, Jinci Temple, Tianlong Mountain, and the Shanxi Museum, and honestly, there's nothing to complain about except that some of the furniture feels a bit dated compared to newer hotels. Otherwise, it offers great value for money. I'll definitely stay at Kempinski again next time I'm in Taiyuan.

I saw a lot of reviews complaining about poor hotel service before my trip, but I still decided to stay here! The main reason is that there aren't many reputable hotels on Wutai Mountain. As an established five-star hotel, there were no welcome fruits. After checking in, I found the electronic scale in the room had no battery. The front desk phone was consistently unanswered. It took two reminders and over half an hour to get a buckwheat pillow delivered after I requested one. I booked a room with a view, but I was given a low-floor room where the view was just rooftops. I felt like I really didn't get my money's worth! The soundproofing in the room also wasn't great. On the positive side, the hotel rooms are very spacious, clean, and hygienic! The restaurant service was excellent, and the breakfast was diverse and plentiful! The food tasted good! The restaurant staff were very friendly! I highly recommend the Wutai Mountain-themed afternoon tea!

This was my second stay, and once again, the room was spotless and tidy. The service was excellent, the location was convenient, and it offered great value for money. My stay was fantastic, and I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time. A big thank you to the front desk and restaurant staff, who were all incredibly warm and attentive!

The hotel's facilities are excellent, but the service was extremely disappointing. I specifically booked a large suite for four days to relax and chat with friends and play cards. However, two unfriendly guests next door fabricated stories, claiming we knocked on the wrong door and made noise. In reality, we were always careful to keep quiet. Despite this, the hotel, without verifying the facts, sent staff to disturb us multiple times in the middle of the night—they opened our door three times and we received a phone call. To prove our innocence, we even went to the surveillance room and confirmed from the footage that we never knocked on the wrong door. Overall, the hotel's handling and resolution of disputes were quite unprofessional.

🏯 I chose the Yanmenwang Jiubao Hotel, located right at the starting line of the Yanmenguan ultra-trail race and next to the Yanmenguan scenic area. It completely exceeded my expectations. The hotel itself is designed with a traditional fortress and Chinese courtyard aesthetic. With its grey brick walls, vermilion eaves, and red lanterns reflecting the blue sky, walking on the flagstone paths felt like stepping back into an ancient pass. Every photo I took looked like it belonged in a historical drama. The room design was an absolute showcase of Chinese aesthetics, featuring double wooden doors with brass handles that opened into a spacious courtyard-style room. It boasted a red-toned storage shelf, an oversized wooden-edged bathtub, cloud-patterned carpets, and a duplex layout. Being right at the ultra-trail race's starting point was incredibly convenient. The hotel opened in 2026, so all the facilities are brand new. Beyond that, the room offered an excellent sense of space and privacy. The independent courtyard layout made it both quiet and comfortable. You could enjoy the courtyard view from the bathtub, and after a good soak, curling up on the sofa made the fatigue from the ultra-trail race instantly melt away. The amenities and bedding were all high quality; the towels even had the hotel's exclusive logo, showing thoughtful attention to detail. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, ensuring an exceptionally peaceful sleep. The hotel service was also very considerate, with shuttle buggies available from the parking lot to the front desk and then to the room. When checking out, the front desk attendant even gave me a chilled NFC juice, adding a refreshing touch to the hot weather! If you're visiting Yanmenguan and looking for a place where you can experience the charm of an ancient pass while enjoying a comfortable vacation, this is absolutely the top choice and highly recommended!

This hotel is almost next to the airport terminal, super convenient for early morning flight. It is clean and service is excellent. Manager on duty - Han, Yueliu helped arrange a room in the main buidling, which is what I preferred. Everything went well. Will stay here again next time when I come back.

This hotel is located within the ancient city walls and has its own restaurant, serving a good breakfast. I booked a Ryan twin room this time, which had an external window that could be opened – great for when it got too warm at night. The hotel is just across the street from Huayan Temple and isn't far from popular spots like Xijin Dao, Fengling Pavilion, and Zini 369, making it super convenient for getting around. They even offered extra bottles of water at check-in. The cleaning staff not only tidied up but also folded my pajamas, which was a lovely touch.
