"First off, let's talk about the transportation. If you're taking the train, get off at JR Maiko Station; the hotel is a convenient 4-5 minute walk away. I initially saw that the hotel was marked as being closer to Kasumigaoka Station. So, I walked from JR Maiko Station to Maiko Park Station, transferred to a private railway for one stop to Kasumigaoka, and then took a small path to the hotel. It took me half a day to figure out the area and realize that JR Maiko Station was actually closer. 2) The large public bath is excellent, and it even has an outdoor section. The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge glass walkway nearby is definitely worth a visit. 3) The Mitsui Outlet Park is also great for shopping and very close by."

"A very cozy hotel with wonderful breakfasts overlooking the bay and friendly staff. The rooftop offers a magnificent view. The onsen was pleasant. I recommend it. It was a bit tricky finding the exit from the train station, but the hotel staff gave us directions and we managed to find our way. It's a bit far from the subway station, but there are plenty of restaurants, shops, and supermarkets nearby. The coffee machine in the hotel is great; you can make various flavored coffees yourself. They also have delicious matcha ice cream in the evenings. The toiletries are well-stocked, and you can even get a facial mask every day.

This is an older Japanese-style star hotel that exudes the understated luxury of an economic boom period. Although the hotel itself is quite old, the room size, maintenance, and staff quality are still maintained at a high standard. Satisfied!

The hotel service and environment are excellent, offering a free shuttle service from the station to the hotel. The meals and private hot springs are highlights, making for a perfect overnight stay with two meals. The entire hot spring town also has six public hot spring pools, each with its own unique features. There are many charming little shops along the street to explore, offering a tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle, allowing you to relax and rejuvenate!

This is an older Japanese five-star hotel. While the decor and facilities are a bit dated, they're well-maintained and quite clean. Although the hotel is built into the side of a mountain, the underground transportation is excellent; you can reach Sannomiya in just a few minutes, and there's a direct shuttle to Sanda just a five-minute walk away. I booked this hotel specifically for the direct bus to Kansai Airport at 2 PM, which is super convenient and a lifesaver if you have a lot of luggage. I don't recommend visiting the Ijinkan Street, which is about a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Overall, it was quite good. The only downside was that the lighting was really dim. I called the front desk to ask why two lights weren't working and they said they were emergency lights. This isn't very friendly for people who want to study/work a bit or handle some things in the evening. The cleanliness was excellent. Although the hotel is old, the details were handled spotlessly. The environment was also quite good. From our east-facing room, we could see the BE KOBE landmark in Meriken Park ^ ^ The hotel lobby offers self-service welcome drinks, and it was pleasant to grab a drink when leaving or returning to the hotel. The breakfast was also good, with a variety of Western and Japanese options. We had a sea-view table on the first day, but unfortunately, we weren't assigned a window seat on the second day (╥﹏╥) In terms of location, it's natural that beautiful views and shopping can't be had at the same time, but it's only a twenty-minute walk to the shopping district, which is fine. If you want more comfort, you can take a taxi directly; there are plenty of taxis in front of the hotel. It's very friendly and convenient for tourists! One of the days during our stay happened to be my birthday. I emailed to ask about birthday decorations and was told they didn't offer that service, but when I entered the room, I saw a small card and a flower on the table, which made me very happy!

I had a nice stay at the hotel, the rooms were clean and the breakfast was of good quality with variety of options. General perception the hotel seems to be more catered for local guest rather than international guest. The public baths were open to general visitors not stay in the hotel so it got quite busy. A few feedback on improvement: - I asked for a travel adapter during my stay and the manager at the counter asked me to come down to the counter to pick it up. Unexpected at a 4 star hotel. Other hotels assisted with simple room service. - The standard check-in (5pm) and check-out (10am) time is too short. Onsens are for relaxation and it felt rushed in the morning to finish my breakfast quickly to rush out of the hotel. When requested for a 1 hour late check out I was told I had to pay which didn't feel appropriate considering hotels general check out time is 11am/noon. I would recommend staying somewhere else if you don't want to rush in the morning. Otherwise it's a nice place to stay.

Second stop of our Japan trip 🚄 The hotel boasts a strong colonial American style, which gives it a unique charm compared to the many minimalist Japanese hotels. It's super convenient for shopping nearby, with plenty of places to indulge within walking distance. The minibar offers a good variety of items; not luxurious, but definitely thoughtful! Plus, most of them are complimentary. Overall, the hotel is really nice and beautiful. The only minor drawback is that the front desk on the first floor is sometimes unstaffed. However, whenever there was staff present, the experience was good. During check-in, the front desk staff's service level felt a bit lacking, and English communication was quite a struggle. But despite that, the overall stay was pleasant, and I would choose this hotel again next time I visit Kobe.

Excellent stay! I was in town for Ayumi Hamasaki's concert, and the venue was right across the street, just one block away. The hotel is also conveniently located near Citizen's Plaza Station, which is why I chose it. The hotel itself is grand and impressive, with a spacious and comfortable lobby. I arrived in the morning before check-in, so I relaxed in the lobby. There's even a convenience store inside the hotel, making it easy to grab anything you need. The room was very spacious, and the window offered a great view. While it's an older hotel, what truly matters is the comfort and overall feeling for guests, not just having the newest gadgets or facilities.

The hotel has a beautiful view, and the rooms are large and comfortable. The room decor is very stylish, and the appliances are all the latest. The service was excellent, and I had a great rest. We opted for breakfast in the room and enjoyed the sunrise and sunset there – it was wonderful. There's also a self-service snack bar with drinks on the 3rd floor – don't miss it! If the weather is nice, be sure to take a walk or bike ride around the hotel area 🚲 – it's so relaxing 😌 I've stayed at several hotels in this area, and this is definitely the best value for money and most comfortable!

Extremely satisfied with my stay! The service was excellent, the location was great, and the surroundings were beautiful. Being able to enjoy the hot springs was a huge plus. It was a very pleasant experience, and I'm looking forward to staying here again next time.
