"Pros: Location: It's not in the busiest area, but the main attractions are within walking distance. Room: My 8th-floor room faced the river, offering a peaceful environment and a beautiful sunrise view in the morning. The room came with a basic kitchen and utensils, allowing for cooking. There's also a pool and gym available on the 4th floor. Customer Service: The customer service was quick to respond to issues like internet problems, and providing bottled water and toilet paper. However, items I asked staff to deliver to my room (like bottled water) were significantly delayed. Self-check-in was convenient, and no deposit was required. Suggestions: Provide bottled water upon check-in (my friend, who booked an SCSP apartment with another company, had 10 bottles already in their room upon arrival). Add clearer instructions for the hot water switch in the bathroom (I had to ask customer service to find out where it was). Room cleanliness needs improvement; the sofa was dusty. I suggest arranging for cleaning during longer stays."

"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wonderful 2-Night Stay at The Shore Summer Set, Sabah We stayed here for two nights and had such a wonderful experience. I’m truly thankful for everything the team did to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. We arrived earlier than expected, and Brandon was particularly kind, helpful, and accommodating. He allowed us to check in early, which we really appreciated, especially after travelling and arriving during a busy time. I couldn’t be more grateful for his kindness. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. I especially loved the bed — I had such a good night’s sleep! The room also had a beautiful view, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The location is another big plus. Everything you need is nearby, making it very convenient for food, shopping and getting around Kota Kinabalu. Thank you, Brandon and the whole team, for making our two nights in Sabah so pleasant and much less stressful. We truly appreciated your kindness and hospitality. We will definitely be back again! ❤️"

"Room is spacious, clean and have two queen beds and sofa, and the view is awesome as i can see mount kinabalu from there. The room has all amenities (fridge, induction cooker, iron, etc) that make our stay very convenience. There are many restaurant within walking distance. Love this homestay, definitely will stay here again in future."

"Everything else was great, but they only clean the room when you specifically request it. That wasn't too bad, but it was inconvenient not being able to empty the trash myself. Also, there are a lot of mosquitoes or some kind of bugs. They didn't bite me much on my body, but a few bites on my hands and feet got inflamed. Aside from that, I was pleasantly surprised to find a shopping mall and local market within a short walking distance, so I never got bored. The location is excellent."

"Hotel location is close to Gaya Street and convenient. The sunrise view are also pretty But the only downside is no free parking which need to pay by hour rate if park inside the building unless you able to find road side public car park lots to park. But must download Sabah smart parking app to make payment."

"Excellent apartment for a vacation. The apartment has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The location is very convenient: right opposite is the port, where boats depart for the islands. There are many cafes, shops, a laundry, and convenient parking nearby. We especially loved the magnificent infinity pool with beautiful views, as well as the children's playground within the complex. The only drawback was a persistent smell of cigarette smoke in the apartment. Unfortunately, it didn't air out even after a week-long stay. It would be great if the owners paid more attention to enforcing the no-smoking policy indoors. Otherwise, everything was great, and we were very happy with our choice."

"I contacted the hotel via WhatsApp 3 days before check-in, and they replied very quickly. They even called me back, and the communication was very smooth. The boat departs from the jetty at 1:30 PM, but when we arrived at 12:30 PM, the boat was already waiting. Someone helped us with our luggage when we boarded. Later, we found out they weren't hotel staff, so we tipped each of them RM5. The hotel's check-out time is 10 AM, and the latest guests can leave by boat is 11 AM because the boat cannot sail after low tide. So, no late check-outs are possible. On the way there, it was high tide, and the boat sailed over shallow waters. The 'jelly sea' was absolutely stunning. My initial apprehension instantly turned into pure delight – it was so worth it! We were 6 adults and 3 children. We originally booked one triple fan room and one quintuple fan room. Because I didn't want a corner room, and the quintuple room was in the westernmost corner, and since there weren't many guests during the off-peak season (we practically had the place to ourselves, which was a pleasant surprise!), the hotel generously gave us an additional triple room and upgraded all our rooms to air-conditioned ones. Another great surprise! Actually, the sea breeze was strong, and opening the window with a fan was already very comfortable, so we didn't really need the air conditioning. In fact, after snorkeling, we found it too cold in the room, so we promptly turned off the AC. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations. The quintuple room was newer, while the two triple rooms were smaller and older. However, the sea view was so beautiful, and given the great value for money, these minor issues were acceptable. The hotel owner was also very accommodating and gave us keys to a few rooms, letting us choose which ones we wanted. Since the quintuple room was on the western side, the sunset views were spectacular. My friends even saw sea turtles twice from their room at night. After watching the sunrise, we walked to the easternmost part of the hotel. There's a bridge there that's perfect for photos, and we kept seeing sea turtles, which was such an amazing surprise! We saw about 7-8 sea turtles intermittently, and they were huge! It might have been the start of low tide, and they were all swimming towards the deep sea. This must be a common path for them, and it was the biggest highlight of our trip. The hotel has Wi-Fi and accepts TNG for payment. The round-trip boat ticket costs RM100, and children ride for free. Life jackets are RM5, and swimming rings are RM10 (no time limit). The hotel's snorkeling masks were broken and unavailable for rent, so it's best to bring your own. The sea has lots of corals, starfish, and fish, making it excellent for snorkeling. Bring extra bread to feed the fish. The hotel doesn't provide bottled water or hair dryers, but there's hot water and tea bags. Dinner was local Malay food, which might not suit everyone's palate, but we found it quite good, and the fish was cooked tenderly. The simple breakfast included delicious fried rice noodles. We also brought some chocolates and instant cereal/drink mixes to prepare with the hotel's hot water. There's also free karaoke and Lami mahjong, though they can only be used until 11 PM. The karaoke is a new facility, only 4 months old, and the sound system is excellent. The Lami mahjong set was brand new. In summary: Although the hotel is a bit old, the sea is incredibly beautiful, and we even saw sea turtles. For the price, it offers great value. Overall, I highly recommend it."

"The place is very clean and odor-free. It's a very hospitable homestay, you can tell from the details: 1️⃣ You can communicate in Chinese via WeChat throughout your stay, so there are no language barriers. 2️⃣ They provide a universal travel adapter. 3️⃣ The host put data cables in the room, and even a SIM ejector tool. 4️⃣ Usage guides for the induction cooker, water heater, and other appliances were sent in the group chat. That day, we checked out from another hotel at 8 AM. We originally wanted to store our luggage, but since a room was available, they let us check in early without any extra charge ❤️ When we entered, the lights and air conditioning were on, and music was playing on the TV, which felt incredibly welcoming. The room was also quite spacious, and every room has a window. When we ran out of trash bags in our room, someone was sent over very quickly to bring more. If I have the chance to visit Kota Kinabalu again, I would definitely stay here!"
