"This hostel is perfect for young people with all sorts of games available. The rooms are quite spacious, and you won't be disturbed by other guests. The environment is good, and the rooms are clean. The women's restroom is okay, but when showering, water flows out of the shower stall and into the rest of the bathroom, which is inconvenient for those using the toilet. This could definitely be improved. Other than that, everything was fine. When I booked the hostel, I read some reviews saying that there was a KTV nearby and that sleeping could be an issue, but I didn't experience any loud noise. It's very close to Xinjiekou Metro Station Exit 15, and below Exit 1, there are many bars and arcades. Mingwalam is also nearby. It's not too far from Nanjing Railway Station by metro. Most importantly, I'm very satisfied because I think it's hard to find such an affordable hostel in Xinjiekou."

"The lobby and front desk are clean and bright, and the room was also very neat and tidy upon entry. It's conveniently located, with many specialty snack shops within 1 km! The front desk staff had an excellent service attitude! Everything is brand new and exceptionally well-maintained, from the common areas to the guest rooms, all clean and fresh. The soundproofing is also great, allowing for a peaceful rest."

"Narrow Encounter Youth Hostel was by far the best accommodation during my trip to Suzhou! The overall experience was incredibly comfortable and completely changed my preconceived notions about hostels. The hostel itself was clean and fresh, with simple yet cozy decor. The common areas were tidy and well-ventilated, clearly well-maintained, with no unpleasant odors or clutter throughout my stay. The sleeping areas were very quiet; I was never disturbed, whether resting during the day or sleeping at night. Each bed was fully equipped, and the privacy was excellent – pulling the curtain created a private little space, offering a great sense of security. The location was a huge plus. Situated in the heart of Suzhou's Gusu business district, it's close to the subway, and you can walk to major attractions and snack streets. It made getting around and exploring very convenient, saving a lot of travel time. The facilities were also comprehensive. Free laundry and drying services, along with a leisure terrace, met all my essential travel and accommodation needs. The staff were gentle and patient, providing meticulous and thoughtful service, always ready to help promptly with any issues. They were truly sincere. The value for money was outstanding. The environment, hygiene, and service far exceeded other accommodations in the same price range. I highly recommend this place for student travelers, solo travelers, or anyone looking for a short-term stay. It's definitely my top choice for accommodation in Suzhou!"

"After a lot of research, I finally decided on Yindu, which I can confidently call the pinnacle of all-female hostels nationwide. I honestly don't think any other hostel can surpass Yindu. The location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around. It's probably only a 6-7 minute walk from the subway station. There's a McDonald's and a police station downstairs, and an elevator which is really handy. The owner even provides fresh, sweet, and delicious watermelon. The environment is also fantastic. There are plenty of showers and toilets, so you never have to wait, and lots of hairdryers too. Sitting in the common area listening to music during downtime is very pleasant. When I checked in, the owner was very meticulous, explaining everything and introducing the facilities. All in all, Yindu is just the best!"

"This hostel changed the idea I had of a great hostel! SEE OTHER REVIEWS FOR COMPREHENSIVE UNDERSTANDING CHECK-IN/STAFF: Simple & easy. There is a language barrier with most of the staff, but it's nothing a little patience, on both ends, and a translator can't fix. I was helped to my room with my bags. I personally enjoyed the staff and especially one of the cleaning ladies. She was truly a joy to see every day and seemed like she genuinely liked seeing me. They helped when my food order had issues, twice. I was helped getting I was running late for my train on check-out morning. ROOMS/FACILITIES: Comfortable, clean and curtain for the beds. I the rooms are reasonably spacious. The average person follows the general quiet in the rooms so you can sleep peacefully any time you want. The blanket is thick, some beds have extra little hooks. (Would be nice if they added them for all beds) Pillows are decent, towel and locker provided. Beds have North American & Chinese style plugs. The entire outlet system of the building seems to be that way. AMENITIES/GOOD TO KNOW Laundry detergent, toothbrush/toothpaste individually wrapped units and earplugs provided at no cost. Towel/bed sheet change upon request is offered if stay is 3+ days. The main lobby toilets are used buy restaurants guests from next door. The is security at night (not personally for the hostel, for the alley) Private homes are across the way so keep the volume low to quiet after 10pm. OVERALL/PERSONAL THOUGHTS ” I would recommend staying here for a short or long period. Excellent valut for dollars. I felt very welcomed, comfortable & overall relaxed. My only real complaint is the lack of fridge,microwave and a sink area. As a budget traveler it can get costly having to order or go out for every meal is super inconvenient. To be fair, you can ask for your items to be placed in the staff fridge at the bar. The downside is having to wait and ask for staff to get it for me. This was super frustrating when I wanted my food and had to wait about 20 minutes for someone to finally be able to do it. Not to mention the general inconvenience of not being able to go to a fridge at will. Even though there's a laundry area upstairs, many people will do laundry in the sinks leaving the bathroom floors constantly wet and countertops soaked. Not management's fault but could possibly be addressed in the rules. There are days where a gentleman will come sit outside the hostel or the general alley area with Barky McBarkerson his incredibly annoying dog that's constantly barking at everyone and everything. When they're directly on the property hanging out infront don't even think of enjoying the fresh air peacefully . I think there's a way for management to address bothersome behavior to their guest. IMO if management could somehow provide a common fridge and a microwave, they would be close to top tier hostel all things considered. Review based on multiple stays. Enjoy"

"This hostel was an amazing experience! The location is fantastic, with convenient transportation and tons of great food options nearby. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable, and I really appreciated the super effective blackout curtains. The common areas had a great vibe, and I met so many interesting people there. The owner is super nice, really friendly and thoughtful, and gave me lots of useful tips for exploring. Highly recommend!"

"It was okay. The dorm conditions weren't as good as I imagined, but for the price, it's pretty much what you'd expect. The hostel's location is excellent, right near the Humble Administrator's Garden and Lion Grove Garden, within walking distance. It's also close to the subway station, which is super convenient for travelers to settle in and get around. The guy at the front desk was really nice and helped me carry my luggage upstairs. The lounge area is great, perfect for hostel guests to relax and socialize. I even brought a watermelon and borrowed a knife to share it with everyone the next day. It seems like there are only one or two cleaning staff maintaining the hygiene, and with so many guests coming and going, some areas inside felt a bit off in terms of cleanliness and smell. The laundry area upstairs was a bit stuffy, lacking proper ventilation."

"We had a family room with a private restroom in this hostel, the lady at the reception is very kind and friendly, we got a cup of tea for free for each of us, which was really nice. I wish the hostel had an elevator and ventilation in the restroom, the rest was all okay. Thanks a lot. P.s. there's an adorable dog named Gali🥰"

"The environment was better than I expected, with individual lights for each bed. The front desk staff were very helpful and carried my luggage for me. They provided hot drinking water, disposable cups, a hairdryer, and tissues. The location is excellent – the subway station is super close, just a short walk across the street. Right outside, there's a snack street and a mall, which is incredibly convenient. The only downside is having a Zhaoyiming and Haoxianglai downstairs, constantly tempting me to go in and buy snacks! :D"

"I rarely find hostels like this; it was so comfortable and reassuring 😭 The hostel owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making me feel almost embarrassed. She spoke so gently and thoughtfully, making me feel right at home. I chatted with her for a long time; she even lent me her umbrella when she mentioned it might rain, and offered me fruit from the table. She also recommended some good restaurants 😋. The room was spacious, incredibly clean and tidy, with a wonderful atmosphere. The cats were very friendly, and the location was great—there were breakfast stalls right outside, giving it a lively, local feel. It was a very comfortable stay, truly the best trip I've ever had. I'll definitely come back if I have the chance! I hope the hostel owner recognizes me then, hahaha~"
