If u are driving this hotel is nice comes with confortable onsen to relax your body after a long day walking from the station it takes 17min walking but car service provided sending u to the station but not sure abiut from the station to the hotel as we didnt check and tried walk there as the time we got there is edy late, one has to be very alert if u only use public transport and hotel shuttle service is the closest convienience store from here is 25min walking and the restaurant is close to the station , there is no any restaurant within 17min walking distance
This hotel has a unique inclined elevator, like a mountain cable car, which is something you don't see in many places. There are also foot massage machines next to the lobby on the first floor, so you might want to give them a try if you have the chance.
Really enjoyed my stay at Kameya Rakan! From the beginning, staff at check-in were very pleasant. The staff that attended to us also spoke really good English! There was also a microwave, some brochures/maps with discount codes for attractions (e.g. Mt Omuro chairlift).
Parking was plenty and free, located behind the accommodation. There is a sign that says Kameya Rakan Parking.
Room was tatami style, and we chose the seaview room which was really nice. They were also very kind to prepare iced water for us in the room which I have never encountered before.
Would definitely come back to stay again!
I will definitely come back here next time I visit Shimoda.
Facilities: Although old, it's incredibly clean, with absolutely no musty smell typical of old hotels. It's very well-maintained.
Hygine: Excellent. Both the rooms and the bathhouse are spotless.
Environment: The hotel is located in a private bay, perfect for a self-drive vacation. I'd love to try the beachside bathhouse in the summer sometime.
Service: Exceptional, the best service experience I've had on this entire trip. They didn't treat us any differently even though we were foreigners.
Breakfast: This deserves a special mention – the breakfast is incredibly rich and delicious. If you love hotel breakfasts, you must try it. Many guests went back four or five times, and there were several options for the same type of food.
A quiet onsen town, with traditional Japanese rooms. It's slowly becoming commercialized, and fewer places offer dinner and breakfast served in your room these days. This stay, however, was a great experience. Since it was our anniversary, the staff even arranged for us to have a pair of mandarin ducks in our room. They took photos of us and gifted them to us at check-out, which was a lovely touch. We visited on a weekday, so the public bath felt almost like a private one. Enjoying the public bath all to ourselves, gazing at the ocean and listening to the waves, was incredibly relaxing. The hotel's shuttle bus is super convenient, getting guests to Izu-Atagawa Station in just a minute.
I absolutely, absolutely, absolutely loved the Hachiman-no Wayo-shiki room type at KIRA-NO-SATO!
Upon reaching the floor of our room, we had to take off our shoes and put them in a shoe cabinet, then walk barefoot to the room. If you're heading to the public bathhouse or just exploring the hotel, you can wear the geta (wooden clogs) provided by the shoe cabinet. The floors were incredibly clean; walking barefoot was very comfortable and not dirty at all.
The room itself was spotless and spacious, not feeling old-fashioned in the slightest. In fact, it looked quite new. The shower room's design reminded me of a sauna, but it was very comfortable and clean.
We didn't use the public bath. Instead, we showered in our room each time before grabbing the key for a private onsen. The 'Stone Craftsman' bath, made of stone, was a bit small; it felt a little cramped for two people. 'Bamboo Immortal' was made of wood (or perhaps bamboo, judging by the name?) and offered more space. 'Rock Seat' was more like a small swimming pool, the largest of the three private onsens, very spacious for two, and had the best overhead cover.
The hotel front desk offered complimentary drinks, including sodas, coffee, and tea. The public bath area provided milk and coffee milk in the mornings, and lactic acid drinks and ice cream in the evenings. The building next to the front desk offered various refreshments at different times, such as green tea, local sweet potatoes, soba noodles, and oden.
The hotel also offers a convenient shuttle bus service to Izu-Kogen Station, though it stops running after 5:30 PM. After that, you'd have to walk. The walk from the station to the hotel is uphill with a significant incline, which can be tiring if you have luggage or many bags.
The hotel staff were all very enthusiastic and polite! I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Izu~
The room was spacious and quiet. The front desk staff spoke Japanese and English and were very friendly. The view was also great, with the ocean right outside the window. You could hear the sound of the waves with the window open, but it was well soundproofed when closed. It had two beds and a large tatami mat, which could fit two people, making it a room for four in total. There's free parking, and the hotel was clean. The shower and bedroom were separated, which was a nice touch. Very satisfied.
First of all, I would like to thank Ms. Yang at the front desk. Her sincere and enthusiastic introduction to the surrounding attractions and transportation was very helpful. Her attentive service definitely left a good first impression. The room was also very comfortable and clean, with all the necessary amenities. Our booked room had a private bath overlooking the sea, allowing us to relax whenever we wanted. Since we didn't have a car this time, it's about a ten-minute walk from JR Shimoda Station to the hotel. I recommend those with large luggage drive to the hotel or take a taxi. Regarding the meals, breakfast and dinner were both kaiseki cuisine, exquisite and plentiful. The only downside was that while dinner was different on the first two nights, it was the same on the third night, and we couldn't pay extra to change to other dishes. It felt a bit inflexible, but not a major issue. Overall, I would still highly recommend it!
The location is right in front of the beach and it is the perfect place to stay if u are going to the Shirahama beach.
Cleanliness is perfect too but I gave it 4/5 because the rooms are not soundproof. We can hear the footstep from the corridor and above room.
The service is perfect too. There is a shuttle bus for the hotel and they let us in from 2:30pm although the actual check in time is 3pm.
The staff will wait for u at the front door to give you towel when you come back from the beach.
As for the amenities, they have massage services (need additional cost), pool, onsen and etc. But we didn’t use most of the, so don’t know about their quality. So I gave it 4/5.
You definitely need a car to get to this accommodation, but the rooms are top-notch. I chose a room with a private open-air bath, and the view of the ocean was spectacular. I also took a walk around the small island just as the sun was setting, and it was absolutely beautiful! The dinner was also very generous and featured local flavors, definitely worth trying!

Amazing
GGuest UserWe had a truly wonderful stay at Ittouan. The experience was exceptional from beginning to end.
The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. They noticed us from far away and immediately came to help carry our luggage. One of the staff members, a lovely young lady who spoke excellent English, was especially helpful and made communication very easy. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name, but I would like to thank her again.
We booked both dinner and breakfast, and the meals were fantastic. The ingredients were very fresh and the variety was impressive. Every dish was different and beautifully prepared. However, for two women like us, the portions were honestly quite generous — even sharing one meal between two people might have been enough!
The location is excellent. The hotel provides a free shuttle to Kawazu Station, which makes it extremely convenient for visiting the Kawazu cherry blossoms. It is also very close to the beautiful coastline, so the surroundings are lovely.
Our room had a private onsen bath where we could soak while enjoying the view of cherry blossoms, which was a truly special experience. There is also a larger private bath available by reservation (free of charge). We also tried the hot stone spa, which was incredibly effective in relieving the fatigue after my marathon.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay. I would love to come back again in the future, hopefully with my family.
KKKYLam616Hotel location is excellent, it’s located on top of Gotemba premium outlet (very close to the hillside section)
The room is clean and spacious, hotel guest can enjoy “木の花の湯” hot spring for free.(And this hot spring is accepted people with tattoos to enter👍🏻)
The breakfast is great too, and I strongly recommended to add breakfast with your booking as there will be no convenience store nearby.
Sadly I cannot be able to see the mountain Fuji during my stay because the weather isn’t good…
I will be back and definitely to stay at least 2 night, hope I will be able to see the mountain Fuji during my next visit🙏🏻
ZZhangzhihengThe hotel's location couldn't be more convenient, right by the Shinkansen exit. Downstairs, there are several restaurants, including yakiniku, ramen, and BBQ. I highly recommend Fuku no Ken – their grilled skewers are absolutely delicious, as is their oden, and it's all very affordable. The twin beds in the double room are very spacious, and you can push them together. The floor-to-ceiling window offers a direct view of Mount Fuji, and we had clear skies every day of our stay, which was beautiful. The room details are also very refined, and there's even a special jewelry stand. The breakfast selection isn't huge, and there aren't many hot dishes. We mostly relied on miso soup and ochazuke (rice with hot tea/broth). However, salads and fruits were plentiful.
When we checked out, I forgot my passport at the hotel. Not long after, the hotel proactively called me. I was already on the Shinkansen, but I quickly rushed off before the train departed to retrieve it. It was a close call, but the hotel's service was truly efficient and timely.
GGuest UserThis place is located at Izu-Ōkawa Station, which is a bit off the beaten path for a transport hub in the East Izu area. The hotel offers a shuttle service, which you can book in advance via email or phone. The front desk has a ********* lady who speaks Chinese and is very helpful, answering any questions you might have. The food is quite good, and there are two large outdoor private onsens where you can see stars on a clear night. However, if you want to see a lot of stars, you should head to Ōshima or a nearby island. The room size is standard; in Japanese-style rooms, staff will lay out futons as there are no beds. The tatami mats are very new and have that unique new tatami smell. The private onsen in the room is also nice for a soak. If you're interested, there's also a wild hot spring by the sea – just Google it. You'll find a Lawson convenience store a short walk along the coastline. Overall, apart from the slightly remote location, there aren't any major drawbacks.
MMalphasThis Fuji Outlet Hot Spring Hotel has an unbeatable location right next to the shopping center, so you can head back to your room to rest as soon as you get tired of shopping. The most amazing part is being able to gaze at the magnificent Mount Fuji right from your room, combined with the relaxing natural hot springs. It's a truly five-star relaxation experience! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for both shopping and stunning views.
GGuest UserThis establishment is situated on the outskirts of Gotenba, a location we selected due to having a car. Navigating to this spot via public transportation might prove somewhat difficult. While there is a convenience store nearby, other walkable amenities in the immediate vicinity are limited. The hotel provides both indoor and outdoor public onsen facilities. Additionally, a foot bath offering views of Mount Fuji is available on the top floor. Guests can also enjoy ramen or soba as a complimentary midnight snack. The rooms were clean; however, some lime residue was observed on the bathroom door, which could suggest an oversight in the cleaning process.
SSYXFA heaven for car lovers, and I'm lucky to be able to visit this place, and also enjoy the drive experience with a top-up.
Location is slightly away from everything so you are stranded unless driving (you should be), and you're just minutes from Gotemba with so much choice for food and drinks compared to the hotels choices that were in my opinion limited and costly.
Lastly, as the hotel was a part of the museum, it was a bummer that we had to pay to enter the museum despite the high cost of the hotel.

GGuest UserThis was by far the best hotel of our entire trip. Waking up to Mount Fuji right outside our window was absolutely stunning! We also had dinner at the hotel, which was a full Japanese-French fusion course. Breakfast was served at the same restaurant, a Western-style set menu, also with amazing views of Mount Fuji. If you're driving or have a private car tour of Mount Fuji or Hakone, definitely book a room with a mountain view in advance. It's a bit pricey, but the experience is incredibly worthwhile.
WWill FreceThis is a cuteeeeee little hotel. And yes its two stars on here, but I have to say, a hotel is just a place to sleep and what you want at the end of the day is a clean, comfortable, and quiet place to do that. This place delivered on that. What's most important is what's around it, and in this area, there is no better place to stay than this hotel. It's situated in this awesome part of Kawazu that is just breathtaking. You can follow this path along all of these different waterfalls, and it's a gorgeous walk. Plus -- it's 5 min walk away from this Onsen that is outside and next to the biggest waterfall, not to mention that their open-air onsen at the hotel itself is stunningly beautiful (I am speaking specifically of the men's onsen -- obviously didn't try the women's!). I think this is a two-star hotel on Trip.com for its services -- there's no room service, gym, amenities, etc... -- but in terms of location and onsen quality, its a four star hotel. My friend and I had a really nice time, and though there are so many places in the world to explore we are unlikely to return ourselves, I would refer people to this hotel without hesitation.
