The property and room were fine and well-maintained and we had good customer service upon check-in. But...an incident occurred which has led to this low rating.
A "guest" entered our room at 10:18 p.m. while we were sleeping in preparation for an early morning departure. You cannot imagine how shocking, scary and upsetting this was. The night clerk never reported this to management. When we reported the incident to the morning clerk, she told us that management would not be in until 10 a.m. We expected a call from management that morning but obviously the morning clerk never notified management. We had to call management later that morning ourselves after checking out.
This was an EGREGIOUS lapse in security procedures.
No guest should feel unsafe staying in a hotel. A situation like this could lead to a potential shooting and enormous liability issues for your company.
During the phone call, the manager was informed of all of this. She apologized and offered to comp our stay. (This credit has not occurred yet). We tried to tell her it wasn't about relieving us of the charge, it was about security...ours and all future guests.
