"I have stayed in hundreds of hotels worldwide – from budget hostels to 5-star resorts – and I have never experienced anything this bad. What happened at Paper Moon Kudils is not just “poor service” – it’s a case study in how to destroy guest trust. We booked two bungalows for my family: two small children, an elderly relative, and myself. From the moment we opened the door, it was obvious: We were not in a hotel. We were in a health hazard. This is what we walked into: Mouse droppings across the floor, furniture, and even close to the beds where my children would sleep Dirty, stained bedding – clearly used and never replaced Filthy, wet floor mats with a smell that turned my stomach No mosquito nets, despite being clearly promised in the booking No toiletries whatsoever – not even soap to wash our hands A rooftop terrace that was closed, crumbling, and unsafe to enter Everywhere you looked, it felt abandoned for months, left to decay while still taking money from guests under false advertising. The beautiful online photos? Pure fiction. What you see there does not exist here. Because of our children, we couldn’t leave instantly – but we checked out after just one night. Staying longer would have been irresponsible. We reported everything to Agoda, who repeatedly tried to contact the property. They never replied. No apology. No explanation. No accountability. Weeks later, the only “solution” was a 15% refund for one bungalow – a number so ridiculous it almost felt like mockery. As a German medical specialist and frequent global traveller, I understand both health standards and honesty in service. This property fails at both. It is not just below standard – it is dangerous and deliberately misrepresented. We have photo and video evidence of every detail. Believe me: The pictures speak for themselves – and they tell a story of neglect, deception, and contempt for paying guests. If you value your health, your safety, and your money: Avoid Paper Moon Kudils at all costs. Frankly, this place should be removed from all booking platforms and inspected by health authorities."

"Myself and my partner had the best stay at De Pearla resort. Farah the host was the best. He cooked us the most amazing meals, helped us with anything we needed assistance with and made our trip so special. He even showed us how to cook biriyani! My girlfriend became ill with a fever on one of the days and Farah went above and beyond to make sure that we were all ok and looked after. It really felt like we became part of the family. His son was also very helpful and kind to us. De Perla is a tranquil slice of Paradise that felt like a home away from home. It was always so amazing to come back to after a long day surfing and the craziness of Arugam Bay. We hope that we come back here again one day. Thank you Farah. We hope we meet again!"

As a tour operator, guide, and travel agent, I travel frequently and have stayed in many different places, but this was truly a wonderful experience. The guest house is in a lovely and peaceful setting, and the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay. The owner is a very kind and genuine person who went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I really appreciated the warm hospitality and personal attention. It felt more like staying with good friends than staying at a guest house. I highly recommend 20 House Arugam to anyone visiting Arugam Bay, whether for business or leisure. "We looked forward to staying at Paper Moon. Our driver followed a sign to this hotel but travelling further saw a sign with 2 arrows pointing in opposite directions. Finally get to a gate with the Paper Moon board but no signs to reception. We called the contact number and were told we had to keep going down the driveway. Quite a few guys came running out and then disappeared. Nobody actually welcomed us and told us where we had to go. We eventually came to an open cafe area and quite a few guys just stood around not actually saying anything. No reception as such but the guy at the bar told us we were in the right place. We were given a welcome drink and they took our passports for check in but still didn’t tell us we had checked in. The rooms are individual units. Very simple but ok. The door doesn’t quite reach the ground which left me a bit nervous about creepy crawlies. The bathroom is huge but basic. No toiletries provided apart from a tiny cake of soap. The staff were mostly very friendly and helpful and provided whatever food we asked for but having all male staff just hanging around all the time was quite intimidating. Staff should probably also not hover around the tables as often and leave guests to enjoy their meals. The place is also the local bar so locals are constantly at the bar window for their alcohol. That also left us feeling a bit unsafe as there was a drunken fight one night. There’s nothing around this hotel so it would have to be on a full board basis. Luckily we had a car and driver and were able to check out local cafes. The place was clean. Probably not ideal for solo or young ladies travelling alone."

Μας έδειξε πώς να μαγειρέψουμε μπιριάνι! Η φίλη μου αρρώστησε με πυρετό μια μέρα και ο Φάρα πήγε πάνω και πέρα για να βεβαιωθεί ότι είμαστε καλά και να φροντίσουμε... ένιωσα σαν να είμαστε μέρος της οικογένειας... και ο γιος του ήταν επίσης πολύ χρήσιμος και ευγενικός μαζί μας. Η Ντε Πέρλα είναι ένα ήσυχο κομμάτι του Παραδείσου που ένιωθε σαν σπίτι μακριά από το σπίτι. Πάντα ήταν τόσο υπέροχο να γυρίσουμε μετά από μια μακρά μέρα σερφ και την τρέλα του Αργάμ Μπέι. Ελπίζουμε να επιστρέψουμε εδώ μια μέρα. Ευχαριστώ Φάρα. Ελπίζουμε να ξανασυναντηθούμε!"

"Όποιος αναζητά προβλήματα είναι λάθος εδώ. Οι πατινάζ - ειδικά οι αρχάριοι - βρίσκουν μια τέλεια γειτονιά στην παραλία του ξενοδοχείου. "I stayed at Wild Edge Panama Kumana Safari Lodge for four nights in July 2026 and had a wonderful time. It’s set in a quiet rural area in Panama within a 40 minute drive to the entrance to Kumana National Park. The rooms are very clean with comfortable double bed and mosquito netting, aircon and fan and plenty of storage and plug sockets. There is a terrace to each bedroom with outdoor seating. The en suite bathroom had an excellent shower and all the modern amenities and plumbing and toiletries. There is a stylish main entrance/reception and communal dining area and the lodge is surrounded by small ponds/water features. The beach is a short walk over the sand dunes and is clean and quiet. The local bird life is excellent. There is fast wi-fi throughout the property. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Samitha and his wife own the lodge and live adjacent and were kind and generous hosts. Samitha is an expert wildlife photographer/videographer and I had the privilege of several all day safaris in Kumana National Park with him. He is extremely knowledgable and has a real passion for the flora and fauna. I would not hesitate to recommend this lodge and hope to return again."

"Περάσαμε καλά στο ξενοδοχείο για 2 νύχτες. Το φαγητό ήταν υπέροχο και πρέπει να ευχαριστήσουμε τον πολύ φιλικό σεφ γι' αυτό. Ο διευθυντής, ο κ. Priyantha Jayasouria και ο βοηθός του, ο κ. Anil, ήταν πολύ προσεκτικοί και βοηθοί. Ο διευθυντής της F&B, ο κ. Salinga Herath, έκανε μια σπουδαία δουλειά στο εστιατόριο με το προσωπικό του, όπου είχαμε όλα τα γεύματα μας, και θα μπορούσαμε επίσης να προσλάβουμε ένα τζιπ Safari με οδηγό/οδηγό τον κ. Shanta μέσω του ξενοδοχείου και να κάνουμε μια πολύ καλή και ασφαλή περιοδεία στο εθνικό πάρκο Kumana.
