We had a lovely visit to this Marriott property. The facility is in great shape. The lobby, pool, and room are all well maintained and welcoming. We had the pleasure of being checked in by Sarper and from that moment on, we felt welcomed and appreciated. When I come back to Anchorage, I will certainly stay here again.

I am a Diamond Member with Hilton Honors and try to stay at Hiltons for all my travels. I am surprised this hotel carries the Hilton name. It is NOT on brand. 1. I called the hotel 3 times. First two times I was on hold for over 7mins each time, finally the 3rd time they said, ”Can I place you on hold” I said ”No, I can not hold”. I talked to Patrick and I indicated from reviews that I would like to have an odd room number because of the train and I needed a refrigerator. He said he would make a note of it. When I arrived at 2:15am, no note, no nothing. Very dissappoined. 2. There was no refrigerator and I was put on a waitlist. Two days and nothing. 3. Room was dirty. Housekeeping left blue gloves and wipes on the floor. I was thankful that I carry my own Lysol wipes and cleaned entire room. (I had to change rooms and both were this way) 4. I had an ”even” number room so I heard the train all hours of day and night. Even though I had ear plugs, you still hear the train. 5. Outlet in bathroom did not work. Had to blow dry hair next to bed. 6. At 4:30am, I had to ask housekeeping or Hilton employees to please be quiet because people are trying to sleep. This hotel is awful. Needs attention. Also, no acknowledgment from front desk regarding my Diamond Status. A simple ”Thank you” goes a long way.

It is a very economical hotel in the local area. Others are generally around 200 US dollars. This hotel is about 100 US dollars. I stayed one night after a guided tour in Alaska. Their price was 1/3 of the last tour hotel. I was out on a cruise the next day and flew home after that. Shuttle service is excellent. Breakfast was as good as the pricier hotels we stayed in our tour. Checked in earlier than check in time. Room was just finished cleaning and the chemical odor was so strong. Have to open the window and door for a while. It was an excellent stay overall considering price and service.

When you prepare for your first trip to Anchorage, you will probably read a lot of reviews. You will be surprised how many of them contain appalling descriptions of terrible service, dirty rooms (to say nothing about bathrooms, where descriptions are even more picturesque), and these include almost all hotels. Some of them (but only a few) included even Inlet Tower, but because for it there were few, I chose to stay in it. I can tell you that I didn't witness even one bad thing there. My room was very clean and very warm, the bed - comfortable, the bathroom - spacious, the water - hot and abundant, and the service I could only describe as very good, without any problems. The free wifi works, although the speeds are not something to brag about. Inlet Tower provides a free shuttle service to and from the airport and the railway station, which is really nice, especially if you plan to use public transport and arrive or depart during the weekend. The complimentary breakfast is much better than the useless ”continental breakfast” that most US hotels will give you. In other words, I am very glad with the choice I made - but I also doubt that all other hotels that I considered but didn't choose, are as bad as many of the reviews say. I haven't visited any of them, only saw a few while walking around Anchorage, but I saw a few of their shuttle buses while I waited for mine, and I can't believe that people providing such a service with nice and well maintained vans, cannot take care of their rooms. So my personal opinion is that at least the most appalling negative reviews show some kind of competition wars, not so much objective opinions. But I can only be sure that Inlet Tower is a nice place - and I will be glad to stay there again if I visit Alaska again.
