"To nitpick... we ordered a coffee at 8:00 AM, and it was only served if you ordered the full breakfast (€20). There was no other option because the cafeteria was closed and there were no vending machines. Mr. Receptionist, if a lady asks for just a coffee and there's no option, I'll go to the buffet and serve it myself as a courtesy from the hotel, and I'll be a gentleman. Just because of this, I will probably NEVER RETURN TO THIS PARADOR."

"Just back from a fantastic week at Isla Canela Golf Hotel, here follows our review. We were 3 single figure handicap and a 21 handicap golfers from Glasgow area, first time at 4* Isla Canela Hotel and Golf for 6 rounds of golf in late Sept / early October. We booked through Golfbreaks (service from Joey was once again excellent), and would most certainly return to this hotel and the golf courses. Third time to this area of Spain in the last year (previously El Rompido and Islantilla). We had great flights with Ryanair from Prestwick to Faro, all on time. Private minibus transfer from Faro Airport to Isla Canela with Bravo Tur (arranged by Golfbreaks) was just 50 mins along the motorway from Portugal into Spain. Key points were : Staff at hotel and two clubhouses were friendly and attentive at all times. Hotel far better than we had expected, rooms modern and clean, and very quiet. We were on half board, breakfast buffet spot on, it was a set 4 course dinner at night, we'd have preferred a buffet, but could not fault the quality. Restaurant Manager very helpful if you wanted something different which was a nice touch. A pint of Cruzcampo beer was 4.80 euros throughout the hotel and clubhouses. We played the Old Course (300 yards from the Hotel) 3 times and the Links Course (a 10-15 min free of charge mini bus ride away from the hotel), also 3 times. Two very different type of coures, and a pleasure to play both. Both courses in excellent condition, the greens at both were amazing. Buggies were 40 euros each but they had a discount deal of 30 euros per buggy if you booked and prepaid for 10 buggies (which savus us 100 euros), which we did on our first day. No juice buggies on either course, so take plenty of water - it was roasting ! On our last night we went in to the local town of Ayamonte - 10 euro each way in a taxi - place was buzzing - plenty of bars & restuarants all close to the harbour. We found a chinese restuarant and it was excellent. Bars were selling pints of Cruzcampo for 4.00 euros. We should have gone into town more often ! No issues or complaints at all on our golf week, it was excellent, will definately return."

"Positive points: Cozy hotel with a generally very friendly and helpful staff. The entertainment team deserves special mention for their friendliness, professionalism, and constant attention dedicated to both adults and children. The children's pool is one of the hotel's strong points, featuring several slides that guarantee fun moments for the little ones. The main pool is large and pleasant, and the beach is a short distance away, with easy and convenient access. Negative points: The buffet restaurant fell well below expectations, despite the good quality of the food. The insufficient number of staff in the food preparation and replenishment areas was evident, resulting in a limited variety of offerings and, at various times, insufficient to meet the existing demand. During meals, it was common to find several dishes and products out of stock, taking too long to be replenished. Furthermore, as it is a hotel belonging to a Portuguese chain and even employing Portuguese staff, better preparation for the increased demand this week, marked by holidays in Portugal, would be expected. The lack of planning and human resources significantly affected the restaurant experience, which was undoubtedly the weakest point of the stay."

"Περάσαμε μια υπέροχη 2 εβδομάδες εδώ τον Μάιο, ως πρώτοι καλεσμένοι. Το ξενοδοχείο ήταν πραγματικά εντυπωσιακό, από την αρχή και δεν απογοητεύτηκε καθ' όλη τη διάρκεια της διαμονής μας. Το ξενοδοχείο διατηρείται αδιαφανώς καθαρό, με μεγάλη προσοχή στις λεπτομέρειες. Το φαγητό ήταν εξαιρετικό, με μια αξιοπρεπή επιλογή των δωρεάν γλουτένης για τη γυναίκα μου. Η τοποθεσία είναι αρκετά ήσυχη εκτός της κύριας εποχής, αλλά υπάρχει μια μικρή μαρίνα μόλις λίγα λεπτά με τα πόδια και υπάρχει μια καλή υπηρεσία λεωφορείου για την κοντινότερη πόλη της Αγιαμόντε."
