A hotel that I especially like, the absolute advantage of the location, the sanitary conditions, the bed is big enough, just on the Rambla. I am very fortunate to live in this house, if I knew that I would live in this house for several days. 👍👍👍👍👍If there is another time I will definitely stay at this home, I will also recommend friends to live, awesome.

Pros: Perfect location in central barcelona Relatively safe Staff were friendly Lobby is spacious and cozy Cons: No appliances in the room You get charged for tea and coffee (except in breakfast) Breakfast was not good with limited variety Didn’t spend much time in the hotel but its more of a budget hotel with limited services however i would still recommend it because of its perfect location where it is centralised around alot of Barcelona attractions

The location is especially convenient. There are cars everywhere. Going out is the subway. Service is also good. That is the mattress is too uncomfortable. There is a sound in turning over. The pillows are not good either. needs to be improved

We had a great 5 night City Break. Quick Initial Check-In. We arrived early morning so we left luggage in the Hotel safe room and explored locality until we could get into our room. Our 8th Floor room was road facing and clean and well maintained and the bed was really comfortable. Only outside noise we heard was when bar/nightclubs closed early morning (5am ish) a couple of times but not too excessive. Breakfasts were outstanding and plentiful. We stayed Half Board and evening meals was buffet style for 3 nights and a choice of set meals for the remaining 2 nights. Both set meals were top quality and went way beyond our expectations. We tended to visit most places around the city on foot. However, the hotel is next to a metro station which we used a couple of times and getting around the city using the metro is great for getting near to most places of interest. We had a great stay and would definitely stay at the Universal if we re-visited Barcelona.

ROOM: Superior Room with Balcony. Size is just nice for 1-2 pax. LOCATION: Perfectly 2 mins walk from La Rambla (you can see the Primark from my picture). Hotel located next to Universtat station (direct train to Sangrada Familia and Passag d Gracia (main luxury shopping street, Casa Mila & Casa Batllo). Direct bus 59 to Barceloneta beach. DESIGN: The interior design (chic and elegant navy blue with matte gold finishes) is perfect. The lobby is stunning and there is a sense of calmness the moment you enter the front door, desp CONDITION: Condition of toilet, bed, room and furnishing is good and new - i think they recently renovated all rooms. TO IMPROVE: Would love to have a mini gym and slightly heated pool if possible. It would make this hotel perfection

There’s nothing to say about the location. It’s convenient to go anywhere in Plaza Catalunya. My iPhone is always running out of power, but I can go back and recharge it 3 times a day. Then there was an airport bus on the square on the day of the journey, which cost 5.9 euros one way, which was not convenient. As for the facilities, they are so average. The first time I got on the elevator, I was a little scared. I didn't feel like a hotel at all, but it didn't matter if I went by myself. When you go out and close the door, you use a key. There is only a mobile cooling fan in the room, which is not very easy to use. The window has not been opened to cool off, but the roadside is noisy.

There seems to be a considerable difference depending on the room type. I wanted to keep the cost down to some extent, so I stayed in a room located between the 1st and 2nd floors. It was never large but clean. The window was in a place adhesive to the floor, and when I opened it, it was close to the person who went through the street. It's not a big street, probably because there is a university nearby, but there are always people going there during the day, and the windows are always closed because I can hear the voice. There is a small window in the bathroom in the same position, but when I use the shower, it will be stuck, so I sometimes opened it here (you may see it if you don't close it when you do the tray). There is a garbage collection place in front of the hotel, and there is a terrible sound of glass crushing several times a day, probably because the bottle is being collected. The walls of the hotel are so thin that you can hear the conversation of the next person. Location is good! About 5 minutes walk from Universidad station? It's about a 10-minute walk from Plaça de Catalunya, where the airport bus stops, and you can take a little bit of it on the cobblestones, but it's a distance that even small women with suitcases can walk. There seems to be no problem with the security of the surrounding area. During my stay, I contacted the front desk of about 3 people, but everyone felt good and kind. There is a free water server on the 2 or 3 floor of the building, with room temperature water, cold water, gas water and maybe ice? I could choose. I drink a lot of water, so this was a surprisingly nice and helpful point. And the shower that Japanese people are particularly concerned about is the highest temperature and pressure! The temperature seems to be rather hot 々, so be careful not to find a suitable temperature and burn it. I don't know other hotels in Barcelona, so I'm sorry, but the overall impression is that it's worth the price. The room was honestly not good, but the expected value was not high, and it was enough to think of it as a place to sleep for a few days in sightseeing.

My wife and I went for a very short trip to Barcelona and chose this hotel at random . What a great choice and a good bit of luck! Firstly it's location was perfect for us - right on Las Ramblas. Very central. We took the Aerobus from the airport which stopped at Plaça de Catalunya a short distance away from Las Ramblas and obviously our hotel We were welcomed by friendly staff and given a welcome drink. Our room was comfortable and clean and had free drinks in the mini bar; free coffee nespresso machine, a big bed and lots of pillows! There was a very good breakfast choice and you were made to feel like royalty by Max the breakfast waiter - who was always cheerful. The desk staff were very helpful with tips about local food, travelling , booking tickets... Fully a five star service. We will definitely go again to Barcelona and hopefully be able to stay again at this lovely diamond of a hotel.

Arrived at the hotel to find 4 beds squashed into a room. Air conditioning was not working and there was a hole in the ceiling the room smelt of boiled cabbage. The booking said it had an internal view but no main window in the room. The little window in the room could not be opened, which is a health and safety issue! The wardrobe had no hangers or pole. There was very little space to move around, the bath plug did not fit and the shower was fixed the wrong way round. When we complained to reception they were not bothered and said they did not have any other rooms till the day we were due to leave on Monday. As we were not happy with the room the receptionist cancelled our room and left us stranded. Whilst we were in reception other people we coming and complaining about the air conditioning not working. There were holes in the ceilings in the lobby area, breakfast area. Luckily 6 hours later we found a great hotel called hotel Condal bcn who gave great service and all facilities worked. Not sure when the hotel moderno was last inspected but in my opinion it should be shut down.

The hotel’s bathroom is very good, the bed is comfortable and clean, I am obsessed with cleanliness, the room has good sound insulation, has windows with a view, and the room is very spacious...The hotel is located 7-8 minutes from the subway station, next to Gran Via...Barcelona chaos, Noisy, but the hotel is very safe, especially the hotel staff are good at service. When checking in: tell me to pay attention to safety, how to prevent robbery, the hotel is entered by swiping the card, people around the hotel feel unsafe, but there are many police officers. Very dedicated...I stayed for 5 nights and it is very convenient. You can walk to the beach and the airport bus stop. Their service is very good. They provide me with various route maps, thank you
