The Hôtel Frisia is an excellent hotel in a great location, directly opposite the marina and a five-minute walk from a range of restaurants. Our room had a good-sized balcony, large bathroom, and plenty of wardrobe space. We also had very comfortable twin beds. However, the best thing about the hotel is the friendly and helpful staff, especially Hans-Peter for whom nothing is too much trouble. However, we understand that the hotel has recently been bought by Russians, who will close it for refurbishment at the end of the 2023 season, we believe with the intention to upgrade it to 4 stars. I can only hope that when it reopens it will retain its current charm and still be in our price range - unfortunately I doubt either wish will come true.

We had booked this hotel for a concert. Excellent choice : close to the stadium , close to the tram to go to the center before the concert , close to the convenience (broadcake , bank etc) parking (free)is a real more The room was very comfortable and the room was very comfortable. Stayed for a few nights with family and cannot rate this hostel highly enough! Rooms are spacious and have a real hotel ‘feel’, including en-suite bathrooms. And these guys have thought of everything with plenty of sockets in the room, laundry service, gym, computers and chill-out zones. Security is as good as any hotel I’ve ever stayed in and the whole place has a really easy, welcoming vibe. Spacious and stylish place that’s really great value for money. Really accommodating for a young family and even when busy felt really calm and quiet. Close to beach and all else Nice has to offer - will definitely stay again!

The Carlton is a traditional hotel which retains its old world charm. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms and good breakfast. Location is quiet and handy for both the town centre and the beach. This is our second visit - rooms are good with either pool or mountain views.

The room in the middle of a family garden is correct ... even if not really fresh ... but too expensive for the service ! The hotel is very comfortable and very comfortable. Everything is perfect. Good area, beautiful huge territory, nice room, good swimming pool. And two nice rabbits. Hope they are fine, because a lot of kids bothered them. Thank you for hospitality.

THE ROOM: spacious and had not only a good bed but room enough to walk around and open a suitcase. There was a desk area by the window and a small sitting area with a bench by the head of the bed. The room was modern and clean and smelled lovely. It was theoretically quiet as it was facing towards the back of the building but the windows have to remain shut as some guests might come and smoke and chat on the terrace (it admittedly happened only once and until someone shouted at them to go to their room). The main problem was some rather loud and repetitive structural sound, was loud enough to wake me. At first I thought that the upstair neighbours were moving a piece of furniture every 2 minutes but it made little sense. I concluded that it was one of the elevators that had some sort of issue and emitted the sound of a dying whale from early in the morning until late into the night. THE STAFF: the staff was friendly and helpful. However, be aware that you will be charged 10 euros to get into your room if you arrive at the hotel before 15:00 and your room is ready. You will be charged 5 euros to leave a suitcase in storage after 10:00 on the day of your departure. You also have to book and pay for a maid to come and change your towels and empty your bin. The hotel was pleasant and affordable but I have never had to pay for these kind of services in any hotel I have stayed at.

Forewarning we only ate at the restaurant so this review will not detail anything about the accommodation side of things. Whilst visiting the wonderful hilltop village of Peillon we fancied a little light refreshment and a snack. Long story short we ended up having a gastronomical meal to remember and the most entertaining lunchtime, the likes of which I've rarely had before. Upon entering Auberge de la Madone we were greeted by the owner Matthew who proceeded to tell us about the different dining options available whilst they set up tables for our party of seven. Matthew was wonderfully entertaining and proceeded to tell us about the history of the place and how it came to be. The food was sublime with French prepared lamb on a bed of the most wonderful vegetables all prepared by Thomas (Matthews brother) who is a genius in the kitchen. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and would easily recommend you go out of your way to visit. It was so amazing that I'm looking to come back in February to spend Valentines day in style in the hotel and enjoy more wonderful food and hospitality.
