"Bit of an odd hotel to be honest. Rooms are modern and massive, with a great view of the harbour. Despite the rooms being newly reneovated (I think) they were already in need of some maintenance. The hotel's location is perfect. Service was however a bit patchy, with reception at times not following through on request (like booking a taxi for a specific time). Breakfast was limited but okay."

"A luxurious boutique property with fantastic facilities and a million dollar view of scenic Bonifacio France. This is Easily a 5-star property with spacious villa suites, a great pool and bar area and modern conveniences, yet why only 3-stars you ask? Being a seasonal property (they close at the end of October) means they have a young, inexperienced staff which is readily apparent from the first moment you arrive. They just aren’t skilled in dealing with they type of people who are paying 500€ per night for a hotel room. Secondly the food and beverage service is sub-par. While there was a breakfast buffet included in our rate the food options while varied were institutional and hum drum; far below expectations for a luxurious French resort. Also the food available at the bar was disappointing. We ordered a charcuterie platter and also a bruschetta board to accompany some wine instead of taking another 25€ taxi trip (each way) into town for dinner. The meat looked like leftovers from breakfast with an off color. The bruschetta was essentially toast with some cherry tomatoes and herbs. It was dry and flavorless-such a missed opportunity both to enhance revenue and to reinforce the luxury brand they want to cultivate. Bottom line-if you have a car and don’t mind dealing with the extreme parking challenges in Bonifacio , the food issues might not matter. In which case the property itself is a beautiful oasis of calm and peace. Tips based on our experiences: But don’t ask them to do laundry as you won’t necessarily get it back the same day as the only person able to do it leaves at 3. Also don’t arrive before 4 as your room likely won’t be ready despite the emails they send asking for your arrival time, and there’s really no place to hang out unless it’s nice enough to get in the pool. Sorry Cala di Greco, you have so much unrealized potential…."

"Pretentious, overpriced. Don’t book a villa unless you have a SMALL car as access is via single track, between stone walls and blind bends. It’s a 10 min drive to hotel. So we didn’t use restaurant for dinner. Our travel agent was told we’d have full access to hotel facilities, not true, just the restaurant and massage not pool. They were also given incorrect timing for arrival and departure. We were encouraged by hotel to arrive for lunch after that we’d hoped to get access to villa or at least somewhere cool to sit in meantime. We were offered pool terrace which didn’t work as we were tired after 4 hr drive. The coolest place to sit was reception which was uncomfortable and the staff clearly were not happy for us to rest there. Far from any other facilities. Villa was fine but pool alarm either didn’t work or went off when not in use. Given incorrect details about daily maid service and reception forgot to give one of our passports back.Only gave 2 stars for the view."

"Excellent one-week stay at Le Poisson Rouge. Very nice place in a magnificent setting and very well maintained. Beautiful, well-equipped swimming pool (lounge lounges). Room with perfect terrace. The breakfast is perfect: complete, very good products and homemade cakes. The team is very welcoming, warm and professional. Very nice discovery and we will return with great pleasure."

"Hotel was not cheap even for the prices of comparable accomodation. Breakfast was not included in the cost and too expensive at 10 euros each. Location is great but recommend staying in Porto Vecchio as it has a better nightlife and beaches. Bonifacio is better in a self-catered studio as it is suitable for families. Went to have a chilled stag do with 3 mates. The service was not great, with the owners complaining about us leaving towels on rails. Eventually got served drinks near the pool, it is clear the owners are newbies and have been open only 1 month. Rooms are smallish and toilets have wet floors with no shower tray. Standard of cleanliness is good but overall, we found it not worth the money and it is a bit far from everything which seems to focus on Portovecchio."
