"Excellent stay at Akira Lipe. The rooms were spacious and great value for the price especially during the low season in late May. Service was truly top notch — staff were always smiling, attentive and warm towards my one-year-old son. The hospitality felt genuine and not forced. Food was delicious, and although the hotel is not fully halal, the breakfast spread was excellent with beautiful sea views overlooking the turquoise water Very family-friendly and strategically located right next to the immigration point which made arrivals and departures extremely convenient (you can finish your immigration and head back to hotel and then go back later once the ferry departs - we did that as we had 2 hours to kill and with small baby it was life saving) Definitely coming back again :)"

"Fantastic! The view is exceptional, and the beach is stunning and peaceful because the boats are docked on the previous beach. The staff are lovely, and the bar and restaurant are great value for money. The breakfast is very good, even if there isn't a huge selection. The location is perfect, the sunrises are magnificent, and the water is turquoise – it's a little paradise on earth. This is the best spot on the island. It's a 20-minute walk to Sunset Beach and barely 10 minutes on foot to the small center of Koh Lipe, where you'll find shops, mini-marts, and a bunch of small restaurants. Everything on this island is walkable, it's so peaceful and pleasant. We loved it so much that we added a fourth night to our stay! The little chalet is very cute, though it's not easy to sleep well without air conditioning; there's little air circulation, and it's heavy, but we survived. The bathroom does the job; there's no hot water, but honestly, you don't need it – a cool shower is very welcome when it's 30 degrees Celsius 24/7. It's an eco-lodge in the middle of nature, so you have to accept seeing a few little creatures sometimes; it's part of the experience :) You can rent masks for snorkeling and kayaks or try an introductory dive thanks to the agency right next to the beach. This is a quiet resort with no entertainment. For evening entertainment, head to Sunset Beach or the bars at the end of the hotel beach (you can also watch the sunset there, and the view is very pretty)."

"This bungalow-style resort by Sunset Beach is really lovely. The check-in deposit is just 100 THB. I really enjoyed the hotel's layout—it's only a five-minute walk to a 7-Eleven, which is super handy. The hotel's beach area is pretty small and often has boats around, so if you'd like to go snorkeling, I'd suggest walking about 10 minutes to the east side of the beach. For calm, beautiful turquoise water, head to the north tip of the island—it's about 30 minutes from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The resort offers massage services, a diving club, and yoga classes. A quick note on the bungalow I stayed in: there was no hot water, quite a few mosquitoes, and the lighting was fairly dim since it's nestled among gardens and other houses. The hotel also follows an eco-friendly policy to save electricity."

"I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights to celebrate a special occasion. my birthday, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing and far from what I had expected. During booking, I had clearly mentioned that it was a birthday stay. However, upon arrival, there was no welcome note or any gesture to make the occasion feel special. After an early morning ferry and a tiring journey, I was looking forward to a warm check-in experience, but instead, I was asked to download an app to make spa bookings. The app notifications became intrusive throughout the stay, which detracted from the relaxing atmosphere I was hoping for. Ahead of my birthday, I checked with three different staff members to confirm my massage booking, as I was not familiar with using the app. Each time, I was assured that the booking had been arranged. However, on the actual day, when I arrived at the spa, I was told there was no booking because I had not confirmed a time via the app. This was both frustrating and disappointing, especially as I had proactively sought confirmation multiple times at reception. What made matters worse was the lack of recovery from the hotel. There was no apology gesture no complimentary drink, no small token nothing to acknowledge the inconvenience or the ruined birthday experience. Later, when we requested assistance to arrange transport to find an alternative massage outside the hotel, we were informed that the taxi would cost THB 100 (USD3.00). While the amount is minimal, this would have been a perfect opportunity for the hotel to show goodwill after the earlier service failure. Unfortunately, no such effort was made. We were told the free shuttle only available from 6-8pm no exceptions in any case. Overall, the stay felt impersonal, with an over-reliance on the app and a noticeable lack of human interaction. It felt more like staying in a business hotel than a leisure resort. Guests should not be expected to manage their entire stay through an app especially when they come to relax. This experience was disappointing, particularly in how the situation was handled. There is clearly room for improvement in service recovery and guest engagement"

"This hotel has an amazing sense of style — everything feels thoughtfully designed and really stands out. The atmosphere is modern, unique, and super inviting. What truly made the stay special, though, was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and always smiling, which made us feel comfortable from the very first moment. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a stylish place with great service. Also we loved the Beach Access and breakfast !"

"First of all, the hotel itself is nice and close to the water with a nice view, this can be definitely recommended. But there are a couple of things that are not good. 1. A generator is running around the clock close to the entrance which vibrates through the ground. Earplugs were necessary to sleep. 2. The bar with awesome view closes 8pm already. 3. Lack of space for breakfast, you need to wait and come back until a table is free 4. E.g. Omelette is not possible to be served with vegetables at all, just egg and cheese in it, thats it. Milk, Salt, etc. needed to be refilled by actively engaging with the staff 5. The location is really far away from everything, but this is not serious as it can be considered. One night is okay, but there is not more around to be seen. Sunrise or Pattaya Beach has mu g more to offer."

"Pros: 1. **Location:** It's not right by the bustling pedestrian street, so it's relatively quiet, yet only a 5-10 minute walk away. 2. It's a detached, single-story villa with a private terrace. 3. The room has a minimalist design, and there's plenty of hot water for showers. 4. The beach is just a few steps from the room. 5. There are exclusive beach chairs available on the beach. 6. The breakfast is substantial, mainly Western-style. 7. They offer shuttle services. Cons: 1. The room is a bit run-down; many facilities are old or loose. 2. The island in general is a bit noisy and too crowded. 3. At over 1000 RMB per night during peak season, it's not great value for money. 4. The immigration and departure points on the island for boarding/disembarking boats are quite chaotic. You have to pay the island fee upfront. Be aware that the ATM next to immigration charges half the withdrawal amount in fees – a definite rip-off. 5. The staff on the Thai transfer boat were rude and crammed everyone onto one vessel."

"First, let's talk about the facilities. The room size was perfect for two people, and the big bed was very comfortable. Both the floor and bathroom were wooden, which was quite slippery when wearing slippers on rainy days. The biggest drawback was the lack of sufficient hot water for showering. After spending all day in the water, I was really looking forward to a hot shower in the evening, but the water was always cold and the water pressure was very low. I didn't bother complaining to the hotel, though, as fresh water is scarce on Koh Lipe, so I understand. Hygiene: The hygiene was actually quite good. Considering it's on a hillside, and there are bound to be bugs, I was pretty satisfied with how clean it was. Environment: The hotel is made up of individual villas, which offers a good level of independence and privacy. It was incredibly quiet at night. The nights I stayed there, it rained heavily with thunder and lightning every day, but the next morning the air was fresh and the sun was bright, which was truly wonderful. Service: Overall, the service was great, especially the room service and the staff who came to light mosquito coils; they were all very polite. One of the best things was that my pool villa faced an uninhabited island. It was only about a fifteen-minute kayak ride away, and the snorkeling there was absolutely beautiful! There were all sorts of small fish underwater, perfect for a beginner like me. I even learned how to use a snorkeling mask and a snorkel there. The hotel's beach was a bit small, but the sand was very white and fine, better than anywhere else on the island."

"We stayed 5 nights at Akira Lipe Resort and 3 nights at Mali Sunrise Beach Resort. Although Mali Resort was more expensive, overall Akira Resort was much better in almost every aspect. In terms of cleanliness, swimming pool condition, facilities, and staff friendliness, I honestly don’t understand why Mali charges a higher price. Sunrise Beach itself was beautiful, and we appreciated the complimentary kayak rental. Breakfast was also very good. However, there were some serious issues. The bedding was not properly maintained — while the outer cover looked clean, the inner duvet was yellowed and visibly stained underneath. Most concerning was the swimming pool. The pool water was visibly dirty even to the naked eye. After spending a long time swimming, both my husband and my child developed skin rashes and suffered from severe stomach problems. They had been swimming, diving, and accidentally swallowing some pool water. I did not swim at all, and I was completely fine, while both of them experienced the same symptoms. This strongly suggests that the pool hygiene needs urgent improvement. I visited in early February during peak season. Pattaya Beach, where Akira Resort is located, was calm, wave-free, and much more enjoyable for swimming and relaxing. Sunrise Beach, although beautiful, had very strong waves, making it less suitable for playing in the water. That said, kayaking to the small island directly in front of the resort for snorkeling was an amazing experience. This is definitely one of Mali Resort’s biggest advantages. Some of the restaurant staff were warm and kind, but most of the staff, including those at reception, appeared tired and expressionless. Overall, I personally do not think this resort offers good value for the price and would not recommend it. For the same budget, I would strongly suggest staying at Akira instead."

"The kayaks on the left side of the hotel are the cheapest and best to paddle on the whole island. The spas at Salisa and the neighboring Wapi are the most beautiful on the island, especially between 1 PM and 2 PM. The massage techniques are pretty similar everywhere, but the views at these two are unbeatable! After sunset, there are a lot of mosquitoes, so try to avoid lingering at the beach entrance around that time."
