Danubius Hotel Gellert

The hotel is closed for renovations. The spa is a major disappointment. Several of the amenities are broken. This is nothing more than a public pool. The “thermal baths” are luke warm. They say 99 degrees but that is not the case. This is a tourist trap. I would avoid it at all costs.

The hotel looks great, even amazing from the outside. It has a great location, however that's where the plaudits stop. No hot water in the room, water coming up from the drain in the bathroom. Unwelcome insects and bugs in the room. There are rooms in the hotel named after Richard Nixon and Andrew Lloyd Weber, I am sure they haven't stayed here. This hotel needs a wide berth. I have since been told the hotel is closing from December 1st for a refurbishment, this is about 30 years over due.

This hotel has great pictures and reviews in digital. The hotel building exterior and location are stunning. BUT ...the interior is really tired, stuff looks unhappy, hotel needs renovation. We got unlucky and where placed in really small hostel like room - not 4* value at all. Unfortunately we did prepaid the stay for 3 nights - but could not stand more than one. The beds mattresses where dirty, the bathroom broken - water from bath comes up from floor, in the room we got very heavy drainage smell, furniture requires renovation and hotel in general has cleanness issues. Be aware that the Gallert SPA complex is not included in hotel booking they just give you the 10% discount. Might be this hotel is good for some guests, but we got the worst possible room in the 4th floor. We did choose not to ruin the last days of our stay in Budapest - better to loose already prepaid money payed to Danubius Hotel Gellert Budapest and move to another hotel. Consider that as donation - to improve their premises. This hotel is so overbooked that they are not interested to pay attention to guests too much - when we did the early checking out nobody asked a single question - why so early or asked for opinion how was the stay ....

As a lady traveling solo, I have not felt welcome here. The only person who gave me the time of day and was very friendly, was the lovely lady who has the gift shop. Beautiful lady. I found all of the hotel staff ignorant and unhelpful. I suggest you teach your staff proper customer care. It would be nice for them to engage a little with guests. To add, bathroom sink is blocked and the TV doesn't work. Some TLC needed here for sure! Look forward to being home!

L'hotel ha un fascino eccezionale e gode di ottima posizione, non lontano dal centro e con bella vista. Però la pulizia lascia fortemente a desiderare e l'intera struttura sarebbe da sistemare (per esempio il pavimento dei balconi con la base staccata). Se vi danno una camera senza balcone, chiedete alla reception e se ne hanno una libera con balcone ve la sostituiscono. La colazione è ricca e abbondante.

C'est vrai l'hôtel est vieux, défraichi... Malgré tout, nous savons cela dès la réservation et cela ne date pas d'hier. Il s'agit malgré tout d'un hôtel mythique de la ville à l'atmosphère 19ème avec une vue extraordinaire sur le Danube. Nous tirons notre chapeau au personnel aussi bien à l'acceuil, qu'au cleaning et au service. Bravo à vous tous qui faites vivre cet endroit.

Wir waren hier für eine Woche. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, wie überhaupt das Personal durchweg sehr freundlich war. Leider wurden unsere Wünsche an ein Zimmer in den oberen Stockwerken oder einem Zimmer mit Dusche nicht entsprochen. Eine Reinigung des Zimmers erfolgt nur auf Bestellung, Das Zimmer war sehr eng, renovierungsbedürftig und das Bett von schlechter Qualität. Im Fernsehen mehrere deutschsprachige Kanäle, WLAN hat immer gut funktioniert. Frühstück ist vielfältig, aber ohne Abwechslung. An einem Tag gab es leider auch keine Milch. Die Lage ist gut und man ist zu Fuß überall schnell oder mit der Tram- Das Hotel wird zum 30.11.21 schließen und ist an einen Investor verkauft. Wir haben das Hotel gewählt, weil wir ein paar Tage das Thermalbad genießen wollte. Hotelgäste erhalten 10% Rabatt. Es war sehr angenehm vom Hotel direkt ins Bad zu gehen.

nelle info covid dell'hotel leggevo che era possibile non fare entrare il personale addetto al rifacimento camere, a loro e nostra tutela. al contrario al check in ci dicono che a comune tutela il ppersonale non sarebbe mai entrato se nnon su richiesta , abbiamo fatto la richiesta col risultato scritto nel titolo , ci torneremo ad albergo erestaurato e covid measures rispettate e non usate ad altri scopi
