Cambridge is an expensive town. That said, the price of the room did not reflect the amenities or the size of the room. Basically, the bathroom was so small as to be useless, and the bedroom very poorly lit and felt cluttered.
The hotel is on top of a very cozy pub near Jesus Green, and within a comfortable walk to city centre. The room was clean and relatively quiet (the pub/hotel are located at a big intersection with frequent traffic).
It would be ideal if the room price was closer to 100£, rather than 200£…

I’m an avid international traveler and have never been to Cambridge. Arrived early to The Waterman after flying all night and then drove @ 2 hours from Heathrow-London. I was beat and James the manager gave me a warm greeting. He got me into my room right away and to top it off, he paid for my parking on the street because I was having a connection issue with my iPhone App etc. what a nice guy! Plus, the room is very nice, great location, cold beer and good food downstairs in the pub!

Stayed in a cozy double which was perfect for our needs. Staff in pub is friendly and helpful. Wonderful breakfast. Our room faced the street and we were able to sleep just fine. Pub below is nice with a good selection of beers. Will stay here again.

Nice pub and good room which had everything needed, clean and well presented. Staff were helpful and friendly, breakfast was very good. Nicely situated within walking distance of the centre. We would definitely stay here again next time we visit!

As Americans, this was our first time staying in a Pub/Bed+Breakfast. It was awesome. Great food, great beer, amazing staff, and nice rooms. The pub is also in the center of town and madd it easy to walk to all the different locations we wanted to see.

Nice enough but wouldn’t rush back. Our room needed some freshening up. Peeling paint on the wall, mouldy windows, bathroom fan didn’t work, only one lamp worked. Breakfast was very nice but not enough salt & pepper for all tables. Talking of tables, ours was very wobbly so I had to put a napkin under one leg! The pub is positioned well for walking into the city by the river but it’s on a very busy road so depending on where you’re room is, you may be able to hear traffic.

I would rate the food a 5, great home style cooking However the service has a lot to improve, we came in and were told we could sit anywhere. We did so and the waiter was going to get us some table water which never turned up, we ate then the waiter took our meals and our plates were taken after we were finished, we then waited at table for 10 minutes. Nothing happens we then went to the bar where we waited again. The waiter looked at us and cleaned all the tables down then served new customers at the bar, served their requests and then collected empty drinks we then moved around the bar and the waiter served another couple followed by us. Like we were ghosts. Also a 10% service charge was added to the bill either that or I was charged for the water that didn’t turn up.

We stayed at the Waterman looking for a cheap bed for the night. Hotel was a 10 minute walk to the centre of Cambridge. Rooms were a good size with everything you need (hairdryer, tea making facilities and en-suite). It is above the pub so can be noisy at night. The bathroom sink was tiny and had a shelf above it so was really tricky to wash your face/teeth. Staff were friendly enough with a cute cafe next door for breakfast. Was good for one nights stay, would stay again for a 1 night trip away. We didn’t eat at the pub but lots of food and drinks on offer!

Friendly staff, comfortable room, and a great price for our stay at The Waterman. Overall, a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We also ate in the pub for dinner and then at the café for breakfast (included in the price) - both were excellent. Ideal location for visiting the city centre.
