The hotel is no longer the four-star category. It is an old hotel and must have been boosted. It is realized that the decoration, furniture and room style are overcome. The shower is bad and there is a great variation in water temperature. The time is cold, the time gives you that unexpected burning, the air conditioning must be connected by the doorway, you have no control and it turns off in the middle of the morning, and as the heat is unsupportable, you wake up pinking. Breakfast is OK, no more sensational surprises. Box has no door. The soap is right!

The new Sheraton in Sesimbra is a beautiful building, ideally located, that will certainly provide lots of amenities and attractions in a post-covid era. Its restaurant was one of the few ones opened on New Year's Day in Sesimbra. We decided to try the brunch advertised at Euros 35 per person. The prevailing covid related precautionary measures imposed that the service be terminated by 1pm. We were consequently requested to show up early, namely around its inception at 11.30am. Breakfast was served in the same room until 11am. We arrived around 11.40am but the restaurant was still occupied by breakfast guests. We were asked to wait standing until guests left and the waiters cleaned and disinfected the tables and set up de brunch menu... We were seated at a long table, of which only half had been cleaned for us. The rest of the table was left with its crumbles and stains from the prior occupants. The floor was also left dirty. Then started the chaos. The staff was extremely gentle and meant well but in the absence of a proper system in place, every staff member was serving every guest and ended up serving no one properly... The menu was a buffet, but because of covid no guest was allowed to touch the buffet and needed to be served by a staff member. Even though there were not that many guests, we ended up waiting to be served. We ordered coffees that were forgotten 2 or 3 times, the same with the eggs. We received the tomato, sausage and mushrooms meant to accompany the eggs some 30 minutes before the eggs arrived. As guests, we can only suggest to the restaurant managers to either discontinue the brunch, as not applicable in a covid environment, or to adopt a system that would rationalize staff and guests moves and satisfy everyone. First of all, breakfast should terminate earlier in order to give more time to the staff to clean and prepare the restaurant room before the arrival of the brunch guests. Secondly, one staff member should be dedicated to a single or at most 2 tables and be entirely responsible for that/those tables, helping the guests at the buffet and serving drinks or eggs at the table. We were also disappointed by the lack of originality and diversity of the brunch dishes.

Also below CV19-Bedingungen I expect a hotel that adheres to the facade with four stars to a lot more. Every morning the same processes, coffee in ToGo cups in a paper bag together with a apple and wooden knife, incrusted ”sandwich” in alufolium with always the same coating ( disk cheese disk cooks******e dry without butter). With some luck it managed to not shake the coffee and everything is dry. But this a piece of fruit is now beautifully warm. Or it's all swept and the day and breakfast is ”saturated”. No trace of a table, a normal cup, a normal beet etc. Eating from the hotel kitchen is unfortunately not worth the price. Carpaccio is beautifully made and fully frozen in the middle, so fresh is different. The hamburger on the one hand is “mini” and in the dry bread that falls out when looking (13€) are a joke, unfortunately not funny. Bach now several stays, forcefully as everything else is closed, I will change immediately as soon as alternatives are available. Hotel itself is clean new and modernly furnished, but dues is destroyed by the circumstances described above DANGER!!!!!

SANA Sesimbra is a very nice hotel with a fantastic location just in front of the Beach close to restaurants. We had a room with balcony and direct sea view - the view was amazing. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and breakfast was great.

Awful hotel! Never stay here! This was worst hotel there we stayed. I choose it because of good reviews but my experience was different: 1. As we booked this hotel for my birthday we wrote message to hotel and asked for good room for couple with double bed instead of that we received worst room I've seen for years... First of all they gave us twin room instead of double. Nobody informed us about that. 2. Shower without lift (it was impossible to move it up and down. I've never seen such cheap and oldstyle system in hotels. 3. The shower is small (no ”rain”). Now I understand why there is no different pictures of rooms/baths - because hotel is in very bad condition... 4. Ceiling with stains. There was flood in this room (before we came) and they even can't make repair works? 5. Toilet leaks non-stop 6. The door to the toilet sticks (it rides but something is broken) but there is no handle and it cannot be closed, and it can only be moved by force (a woman cannot close the door to the toilet). 7. Sink as from the last century (not only looks as if it is 20-30 years old, but also uncomfortable to use) 8. The shower doors not moving properly. Looks terrible. 9. There are dead bugs and flies in Bathroom 10. The elevator does not work normally (it passes by but does not stop on the floor). 11. The staff uses the same elevator as the guests and so even if the elevator arrives, then staff is inside with a huge basket of laundry, towels, etc. and you can't even enter elevator. 12. The reception desk is all shabby and looks old. 13. After check in administrator gave us a card that didn't worked and we had to drive up and down with luggage. 14. To park your car, you have to spend a lot of time (the distance from the rearview mirrors to the posts on the left and right - about 15cm (with a high probability you will crash your or rental car). 15. To enter the parking you must go down the circular traffic down to 3 levels (the place of passage is narrow), and on the right side you can constantly see black paint from cars that hit the wall) - very uncomfortable. 16. Despite the pre-order of double bed gave two single beds (unfortunately refused to change) 17. Hotel is using ”Rituals” bottles in toilets but it's fake. There is usual cheap liquid soap inside. Maybe 20 years ago this hotel was good but today it's old and looks really bad. We were expecting the hotel management to offer some solution, unfortunatelly it didn't happened. Never stay here

The staff is wonderful, i came with my 2 kids, and we had 3 single beds. Beds are comfortable. The bathroom size is correct, not too small, and not too big. The room was cleaned every day. The breakfast bufet is very nice and complete. Thanks again to the staff who are very helpful and kind. The walk to the beach is 5 min, the beach is very nice. I definitely recommend this hotel.

Location is wonderful, and so is the whole building and surroundings. But comparing price/quality there is really something missing. We spent 3 nights in weekend High season, but there was no management at all.We had to wait more than 3 hours before we could have our room, although we send a mail to ask for an earlier check in than 16.00. Not possible, we have to waited till 16.15 . We have been in many 5 stars places all over the world, but never had this situation. Thanks to Mr Joao de Sousa we we're calm down. He treated and helped us later with everything, and that made our stay good. Our superior terras room was located perfect, clean and cool, but the decoration is for that price some dated. The bathroom very small and not really comfortable. In the adults pool only three umbrellas, to protect all the guests from the sun. sunbeds we're not very clean, and the pool towels, is really not done, in a 5 star Hotel member of the Leading hotels of the world. The quality of the breakfast was 3 stars, only 2 sorts of unripe fruit, and no fresh bread at all. We have had diner several times, at the fantastic Terras outside, but please put mores covering to protect people for the extreme sunburning. quality of the food was good, specially my fish was perfect prepared, and again I say, the very kind service of Mr Joao, David, and several other members of the restaurant was really touching. They did their job more than fantastic. So overall, the place has so many strong assets, location, building, history, surroundings, but some for us important details we're missing, and the feeling that there was no management to talk with, but the location is Portugal on it's best! Wouldn’t stay there again. Booked a stay for 4 days on my birthday week. I have been in Ibis Hotels in Lisbon before, but not in Alfragide. To my disappointment, beds were so small you had to be careful not to fall at night, bathroom seems to be made of plastic and last but not least, there was a hotel refurbishment in process, which means loads of noise early morning, dust, strong smells aaaand our window view close by a white paper. When I address this last one to the reception I was told that it was “to our privacy”. One of the days I tried to open the window to have fresh air, due the strong smell inside the room, and there was no ventilation as there was a paper closing our whole window. Oh and not to mention that cleaning staff touches guests stuff inside the room, so be careful. Luckly our lugagge with valuables was locked. I really don’t mind sharing my candies with anyone, but I feel a bit of attitude to find a box of chocolate half open, and then only the paper of candies on top of the dusty table. If you take, not a problem at all, but at least take the paper with you. Breakfast was good at least. So, in my opinion, not the best place to spend your birthday week and not the best place to stay at all. Will def choose another hotel next time.

This is a 3-star hotel masquerading as a 4-star hotel. The units that were recently renovated got the landlord special: the doorknobs were falling off the bathroom door, the A/C just didn’t work (the staff insisted it did, but we needed to open the window regardless), and the shower doesn’t have a proper barrier so water gets literally everywhere despite your best efforts. The rooms are tiny giving you no space to get takeout or eat a snack. There are plenty of tables downstairs and poolside but the staff insist you cannot bring outside food even though there is no restaurant using those tables and the tables have no use outside of breakfast. The rooms are expensive for the location and amenities. There is a pool but honestly you don’t come to Portugal to swim in a hotel pool. I’ve stayed at many hotels and I’ve never had a worse experience at a so-called “4-star” hotel. At least with 3 star hotels they’re cheaper and you know what you’re getting. We actually had a better stay at another local hotel last week. A large family suite with powerful air conditioning for far less than this tiny double bed room with a vent that blows oddly humid and slightly cool air.
