Trip.com made good on this though so we were ultimately satisfied. We were told by the hotel that the other room we also booked was upgraded which was true but that upgrade was marginal and not close to equivalent to the downgrade according to the prices shown here. Moral of the story is to inspect before checking in if checking in early enough as this may allow one to cancel and rebook on this app for a proper adjustment."
