"Great situation on the main route. I arrived and went to check in. The girl at reception could not have been nicer and more helpful if she tried. I was given an extra big room to accommodate my bicycle as spent the day riding the Cantii Way around East Kent. The room had a great view of the castle and was clean. Too tired to go out so ate in the restaurant. Perfectly fine. Served by the same girl that checked me in. I arrived Thursday 23rd April. Excellent customer service, whatever you pay her is not enough. These little things make all the difference with your stay."

The host was also incredibly hospitable, readily sharing travel tips for the surrounding area, making for a comfortable and heartwarming stay."

Η κυρία που διοικεί το ξενοδοχείο είναι τόσο όμορφη. "We stayed in two rooms here for a night before joining our cruise and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. It is close to the white cliffs of Dover and Dover castle and only a mile from the port. St Martins is very well located. John, the concierge was amazing and always wanted to please. As other reviews noted, he is very knowledgeable of the area. The rooms were very clean. As others have stated St. Martins is a guest house. Rooms are small and basic and there isn't any air conditioning. If those things are important to you you are better off booking a large hotel. We felt the positives of this charming place far outweighed any of that other stuff and inexpensive at about 100 pounds a night. "

"I stayed in a single guest room for 2 nights prior to a cruise. The inn is cozy and charming and the owners are so lovely! The single room is small (as expected) but comfortable with adequate storage, private, and quiet - I slept like a baby. The location is perfect with the Dover Castle a short (but steep) walk away, and town center and beach/marina no more than a 10-minute walk away. The WiFi is great, and the room has everything you need. The breakfast is homemade, cooked to order, and delicious! Sharon and her husband are wonderful hosts!"

"We spent our very last night in the UK at Heathwood BnB, and it was the perfect way to end our three weeks of non-stop travelling. Being greeted by Margaret truly felt like coming home... she was warm, friendly, and genuinely interested in hearing about our trip. We even had the pleasure of meeting her family next door, who were just as lovely. Our room was beautifully decorated and thoughtfully appointed, with all the little extras that make a stay special. The views across the township were exceptional. The handy desk area adjacent to the bedroom was perfect for making coffee, doing hair and makeup, or using devices, and the comfortable chairs made it easy to relax and watch TV. The bed was extremely comfortable, ensuring a great night’s sleep. The only thing we would have changed was the lack of a door into the bathroom/shower area for privacy, but it was easily resolved by drawing the bedroom curtains. What really stood out was Margaret’s kindness and hospitality. We were too tired to go out for dinner, and she graciously prepared us some homemade sandwiches... a thoughtful gesture that went above and beyond. The next morning, we enjoyed a delicious continental breakfast before heading off to the airport. A truly welcoming BnB with a host who makes you feel cared for — highly recommended!"

"A lovely English Pub in a rural setting. We were greeted by the bar staff and swiftly checked in and taken to our room. The room (3) was a converted barn with two similar rooms next door. The standard of decor, fittings and cleanliness was extremely high. After settling into our room we went to the bar for a drink and relaxed in the garden outside. We booked a table for dinner which, was a wise move as it was busy, even for a Wednesday. There are no printed menus, it is displayed on chalk boards above and in the large fireplace. The food we ordered was of excellent quality and good sized portions. After a good night’s sleep in the comfortable beds, we went for breakfast. There is a table for juices and cereals, if you wish. As we were travelling on the Continent, we went for the ‘Full English’. It was a feast, we had coffee to compliment which was very nice. We only stayed one night but, The Lydden Bell has left a lasting good impression on us. A very well done to all the team for making our stay so enjoyable and flawless. I would thoroughly recommend this pub for a stay and the great food."
