Baobab Ridge

Cannot say enough great things about Baobab Ridge. The staff was exceptional and made our trip special. They went above and beyond the entire stay. World class experience all around. The game drives were unforgettable and we were able to see the Big 5 and more throughout. Always felt safe and our guide (David - the absolute best) was so kind and had such a unique way of communicating throughout our drives. The meals were amazing and every dinner they had something special planned for us. It was our Honeymoon and no matter what, they kept doing something that would go the extra mile to make our experience outstanding. The rooms are more of a personal house with a cloud of a king bed. They cleaned the room twice a day and then also did our laundry (was not expecting that level of service). The lodge is a short trip from the airport and has amazing views by the pool. Not to mention a watering hole where we saw so many different animals (including 25 elephants taking a bath while getting served drinks). I could write a full novel of the each aspect of this place. We had friends stay at lodges that were 2x the price and not even close to our experience. Stay at Baobab and you will not regret it!

Baobab Ridge is very well located in Greater Kruger. The accommodation is clean and well equipped. The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly. Priveledge the host and the new owner, Nic, are doing a great job! But above all, the guides on the game drives are superb and they know a lot of the animals and fauna. We enjoyed every single minute!

Only good things to say about our stay! The staff was incredible. Our room was comfortable and spacious. Food was amazing!!! I have fish and dairy allergies and they were beyond accommodating, making many special (and delicious) meals for me. There is a watering hole near the pool/lunch area and we had such incredible views of elephants, warthogs, etc while we ate and relaxed. The biggest shout out goes to our game driver Movan (I hope I spelled that right) - he was the best guide! Very informative and we had a great time with him. Stay as long as you can, to increase the chance of seeing all the animals you’d like to see. We stayed four nights and were very happy with all of the sightings!!

We had a wonderful stay at Baobab Ridge lodge. The lodges are huge and comfortably furnished in African style. All staff was really friendly and attentive. Our ranger did the best game drives with a lot of animals we have seen and really educational. The Klaserie area has open boarders to Kruger park and animals can move free there. Everything was at a fair price except the airport transfer to hoedspruit which we found quite expensive. Nevertheless we highly recommend to stay at Baobab!

Experience of a lifetime. Baobab Ridge, the staff, accommodations, dining/food and other guests were such a wonderful experience. Devine is so knowledgeable, kind and considerate of the environment. He taught us about all the animals from Leopards to snails. His botany knowledge is beyond extensive. We enjoyed hearing about his many adventures and exciting times. Thanks for such a memorable time!!!!

When we arrived at Baobab Ridge in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve we were greeted by the gracious staff with hot towels to wash our hands and a fancy welcome drink. When I walked into our private bungalow I wondered where all the other billionaires are staying tonight. It is beautiful with glass walls and recliners placed to watch nature even when you are at home in your room. Beautiful surroundings, gourmet meals prepared by professional chefs, and snack stops on the safari drives added up to an amazingly elegant experience. The service was world class. Adelaide helped us beyond the call of duty! Our guide Moven showed us the big animals as well as a few small ones. We saw rhinos, a pride of lions with 4 little cubs, jackals, a hippopotamus, wild dogs and wart hogs on this amazingly elegant safari.

This was the most awesome holiday we have ever had. The lodge is in the heart of the bush but only 25 minutes from the local airport. We stayed for 6 days and 5 nights and were not disappoint. We saw the Big Five (leopard, lions, elephant, buffalo Rhino). This was partly because of the skills of our guide and the fact we gave ourselves enough time to have a chance of seeing them. Each trip out into the bush was an adventure and we never knew what we might (or might not) see. No guarantees but lots of possibilities. The lodge itself was soooooo relaxing, great food, fantastic service and all at, what we thought, was a reasonable price. We had an unforgettable time in Baobab ridge lodge. Everything was fine: room, food, personal, game drives. We have seen all big 5 and a lot of other animals from very close perspective. We also recommend to book bush walk with Devine who is very professional ranger with a lot of experience. This walk gives you even better feeling and connection to nature as well as animals behaviour. We had a chance to track rhino.

We visited South Africa for the third time this year having booked after much research into different lodges and areas. We agreed our itinerary - 3 days safari staying at Baobab Ridge. This was an excellent choice. Our safari lodge was lovely - very comfortable and the staff in the lodge were welcoming and friendly with nothing being too much trouble. Our safari guide was Moven and he did everything he could to ensure we had the best sightings - we even managed to find African wild dogs on our first game drive! We saw everything we wanted (the big five) and so much more, it was a thrilling experience. The food was beautifully prepared and delicious and the lodge is small and intimate. We were also lucky to have some really nice and friendly people sharing the safari vehicle with us, which added to the overall experience. On thing that took us by surprise was the very changeable weather. Forecast to be very hot, it was in fact unseasonably cold at one point then changing to being exceptionally hot - very unpredictable. My advice would be pack for every season!
