"This is the second year we have stayed at this hotel during the snow season, and it won't be the last! We have stayed for several days both times, taking breakfast with dinner and a ski pass. The treatment received by all the staff was excellent, with Jordi at the reception, who is charming, Lluis who is the owner and chef, the guys in the dining room who are very kind and attentive, the cleaning staff who were very nice, and not to forget the dog and "doorman" Nen, who is very nice haha! A strong point is the location, as it is very close to the Funicamp and you have a stop for the funibus, which is free, 100 meters from the hotel. The rooms are very clean and well equipped, and this year you can see that they have given them a facelift and are more modern and welcoming. Another point in its favor is the free ski storage service, which is next to the reception, and is very comfortable. The breakfast is a buffet that is varied, very good, and they replenish it all the time. The best thing, of course, is dinner, with an a la carte menu with quality products prepared with great care, and a variety of homemade desserts, all prepared by the owner and chef, Lluis. There are several paid parking lots near the hotel, and some of them are very cheap. It is worth checking the prices beforehand, because there is a big difference in price from one to another, even if they are close to each other. "This is not a luxury hotel.....you are not paying for a luxury hotel! you are paying for a typical ski hotel. The rooms are super clean the food is very school dinners (but hearty and tasty this is not a complaint) yes it smelt a bit foisty as you came into reception but this in no way impacted our experience. The staff were all friendly and the location was good the free bus to take you to the Funicamp stops a little way up or down the street for the money we paid I would highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay here again."

"My husband and I visited the Encamp Hotel with our 3 teenage boys for a new year ski trip. We were expecting a basic set up as the hotel is 3 star but were shocked at the complete lack of comfort available anywhere in the hotel. The beds were hard, pillows worse and not a single drawer to store clothes. Having said that the rooms were warm and there was always hot water. We were staying half board, but ended up eating out most nights as the evening meals on offer were dreadful and weren’t even warm. The soup was inedible and cold. Not what you need after a day on the slopes! The bottled beer offered was off and had strange things floating in it. Breakfast was fine and not really an issue. We felt bad for the staff of the hotel as they were very pleasant, especially Horacio in the restaurant. They did their best for us but we feel they are being let down by sun standard food being served and not having the facility to keep it hot. Really disappointing. On our final night of the holiday, a huge party of school children descended on the hotel, and completely took over the place! Running up and down corridors until I had enough and complained at midnight. The issue was handled as well as possible by the lady on reception but at no point did any of the teachers take control of these children until a complaint was made! I feel it’s completely unacceptable to allow a huge school party like that to arrive at the hotel without pre warning other guests. We should have been made aware and given the opportunity to cancel our booking, or the school should have been able to hire the entire hotel. The final night at the Encamp Hotel left us tired and fed up. Not what we needed with a 13 hour journey ahead of us. Definitely pay a little more and stay elsewhere!"
