Marni Village

First visit to Marni as a family of 6. The accommodation was very very clean. We had a 2 bed superior suite so 2 of our children slept in the living area on sofa beds. There was no air con in the main living area but it was cool enough with the bedroom doors left open. The cleaner was lovely, very friendly and often helped get our lazy 16 year old up and out for the day! The reception staff were always approachable and helpful. The layout is on a hill so can be hard work if you're not very mobile. 3 pools we used the top pool and the main pool. Both were very nice although we did find if we didn't put our towels down by 8.30 we couldn't get a sunbed, but it is peak season. We didn't use the breakfast so can't comment. We did have lunch at the pool bar which was very nice and seemed reasonable. The location is fantastic. My only tiny ****** is that when we were by the top pool one day my son opened a can of drink and the barman came over and said the only drinks allowed around the pool were the ones purchased at the bar. I think this is a little unreasonable as over the holiday with 4 children we had purchased plenty of ice creams etc from poolside. It's a self catering holiday and we had been to the mini market on the walk back and purchased drinks for a euro each. This meant to drink the drinks we would have to go back to the room and with 6 of us if we had a day at the pool and could only drink drinks purchased at the pool it would be a very expensive day for us. That's my only negative and didn't take away any of the good from the holiday at all!! Book as you won't be disappointed. We would visit again.

Booked this as a last minute stay and considering this hotel is only a 3 star we were very impressed. Upon arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who upgraded us without us asking, they then drove us up the hill to the room which was a nice touch. The amenities were great, there were 3 pools of which we ended up using only one mainly as it was so close to our room but this was perfect as they are dotted around the small complex. There is a tennis court which we didn't use. The main bar and restaurant area had a lovely view (as well as the top infinity pool), the decor was all clearly up to today's standard and we noticed this throughout Koutouloufari too. We stayed in a studio room which was very spacious and had everything we needed. We had a nosey at the rooms with pools (as there are quite a few) and they looked really nice, plus they had almost finished the brand new ones too! Upon checkout they will look after your luggage, have safety boxes to use at the desk and they have several shower rooms to use so you don't have to worry about needing a room for an extra day or getting an early flight to avoid this. All in all we had an amazing time there and would definitely consider going back. We weren't the only ones with this opinion either as it seems many go back year on year. This was my sevkcond time staying in marni village. It's a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The bar/restaurant staff are really friendly, the food and drink are lovely. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. The whole place is absolutely spotless and the rooms are comfortable and have everything you need.

We stayed here at the end of May for our 25th wedding anniversary. It’s ideal for couples but also great for families too. We wanted somewhere we could just chill and relax which is exactly what we did. We had a studio with private pool and it was amazing. Close to all the restaurants tavernas and shops of koutoulafari and piskpiano and a short walk though steep down the hill to Hersonissis. Staff were friendly and accommodating the grounds and general pools are beautiful. We ate once from the restaurant which was lovely. Couldn’t recommend Marni highly enough. Already planning our next visit!

We love the Marni Village, and it has everything you'll need to make your holiday a memorable one. It has a wide range of accommodations to suit all group sizes. It has three communal pools, plus lots of private ones if you fancy a stay with your own pool. Sunbeds are plentiful, and the pool areas are very spacious and clean. The resort also has pool bars with food available, and a restaurant and bar if you want to eat in the resort We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, and would like to thank Oxi and George in reception for the warm welcome on our arrival.

We had a really good stay at Marni Village. The staff was very friendly, the rooms where nice and clean, the breakfast was great. Really nothing to complain about. We rented one of the big villas with private pool. Koutoulafari is a very nice little village with a lot of great restaurants and far from Hersonissos which is bigger and basically have everything. This was one of the best vacations we have had. The staff helped us finding very friendly taxi drivers after an unpleasant experience with Europcar. The taxi drivers drove us around and showed us places we otherwise wouldn't have seen.

2nd time to Marni village and it’s as beautiful as last time. We booked a one bedroom apartment with private pool again and they had given us the same one -such a simple thing to do but it made us feel so welcomed back. Lady on reception (sorry can’t remember her name) is delightful, even though it’s the end of the season and everyone is ready for a break. Olga, our housekeeping lady always had a smile and a wave. 2 mins walk to a bakery and small supermarket, 2 mins further is pretty Koutoulafari with lots of tavernas, cafes, bars and shops - on narrow cobbled lanes, just so pretty. Owners are chatty but not in your face, they have a lovely laid back way. You can carry on walking to Piskopiano and then further on say 20 mins to Old Hersonissos with its Taverna lined square. Down the hill you can walk to the sea front, busy with touristy shops and bars, depends on what you like. Marni village has everything from studios to Villas, it’s nice to wander around the gardens to see the different accommodations/pools/restaurant. 10/10 again, thanks to all.

5 star super fabulous in every way, high standard of accommodation, 3 amazing pools, exceptional staff on reception, hospitality, cleaning, maintenance etc, they always go the extra mile, always spotless everywhere, super friendly, amazing location - 5 min walk into the village with 30+ super fabulous restaurants, bars, coffee shops, supermarkets- everything you need. But also 15 min walk down to the front/beach at Hersonissas again everything you need in terms of banks, chemists and an amazing choice of fabulous eateries etc, only 20 mins from airport but no noise. It’s our second visit in 2 years and we will back next year for 3 weeks because 2 is just not long enough. You will not find better than Marni in Crete!!! Highly recommend!!

We haven’t even left Marni Village yet (one more day until we travel back) and we feel we should write a review now. We are a family of three and have stayed in many different places over the years. We are easy travellers and always hope to find relaxation, friendliness, kind and welcoming hospitality wherever we go. And, oh, what a wonderful place we have found here. We never pay any attention to reviews only our (mainly my) gut feeling when we book somewhere, so arriving here was again a testing of my gut instinct. We flew into Heraklion many, many hours delayed but once we got there, Yannis, our driver was already waiting for us. I’m not even sure how long he had been waiting and after a 20 minute drive, during which Yannis welcomed us to the island saying ‘this time you stay for a week, next time 2 weeks, I promise you!’ We were then driven to the doorstep of our apartment and welcomed by Oxy, the receptionist, who showed us round and told us to settle in first, have so thing to eat and then do the paperwork and check-in. Straight away we felt kindness, friendliness and a sense of pride in what people do and can offer. This clearly shows in the set-up and presentation of Marni Village, people have worked here for years and love where they work. The grounds are amazing and so beautifully kept, the trees, the flowers. My son loved all the different colours, fruits and hidden corners in this place. Our bungalow was amazing to say the least. Our toddler, although a little bit unwell, loved the private pool and dipping in his legs. We had a small kitchenette that allowed us to prepare small lunches and dinners. The bungalow was cleaned every day and staff were super friendly, chatty and always paid special attention to our little one. There is a bakery and small shop just a stone’s throw away where you can buy pretty much everything and anything you need. I could go on and on and on but as we are now coming to the end of our holiday at Marni Village, we will spend the last day dosing by the pool, looking out onto the sea and hoping that we are able to come back very soon. Marni Village’s hospitality, friendliness, kindness and pride has definitely won us over and we can’t wait to tell all our friends. Thank you!
