An outdoor shower after the beach and before dinner is part of the quinetessential Cape Cod coastal experience. Our "decked out" deck abounds with flowers, herbs and veggies and a variety of plants. It also features an instagram worthy mosaic table made by a local artist that is the perfect backdrop for your morning coffee guaranteed to make your foodie and cocktail snaps look fantastic. The pesticide free yard has an abundance of well established rhodedendrums (some taller than the house!) that provide privacy and greenery year round. And if you are lucky enough to be here when they are blooming (late May/early June) you will be surrounded in gorgeous pink hues! The front of the house is landscaped with roses, hydrangeas, cat mint, lillies, lavender, iris and local grasses. There are raspberries and blueberries free for the picking in the side yard.We have tried to make our yard bee, bird and small animal friendly. As such you may find many small visitors during your stay, including friendly squirrels or even turkeys! Other regular visitors include a bunny family that enjoys munching the plants of their choice and a large variety of birds that visit daily. In fact this year we watched a family of chickadees take their first flight and even got to hold one (see our insta for the kid’s awe and excitement!) Feel free to toss peanuts to any of the small visitors in our yard - they love it and will reward you with hours of entertainment. Interior Details: You'll have access to the entire house - with the exception of two rooms. One room is our bedroom (don't worry we won't be there!) where we store our personal belongings and the other is a room off the side of the house (it has it's own entrance). We own and operate Speakeasy Travel Supply and that room is an overflow storage space for our fabrics and is closed off to guests. No one will be there during your stay. There are no stairs to get into the house and no stairs within the house. The only stairs are off the deck which you do not need to use as the backyard is accessible from the front yard as well. The deck is accessible through the dining room and there are no stairs between those spaces. Please note - even though there aren’t any stairs to climb to get in, the home was not built to ADA code and has standard width door openings. The outdoor shower requires a step to get into. Much of our home has been remodeled in the past year with a global style and an emphasis on sustainability. You'll find cork and eucalyptus flooring throughout, new appliances, low VOC paint and custom fabric touches through the house.Our home is Alexa enabled which allows you to play music throughout the house with your voice. Living Room/Kitchen/Dining Room: The dining room has a large kitchen table - perfect for game night- with 2 bench seats and 4 additional chairs. The kitchen is equipped with new stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, microwave and toaster.You'll also have everything you need such as plates, cups, silverware, pots, pans, measuring cups, wooden spoons, salad bowl, lemon squeeze, cutting boards, pestle & mortar, tea towels, a 4 slice toaster, Keurig coffee maker and Chemex pour over coffee carafe. The living room has two couches (organic, American made 3 seater from Pottery Barn and another 3 seater that is also American made) and a stylish egg chair. There is a Roku smart TV with Netflix, Paramount +, Disney Plus, HBO, MLS Season Pass and Hulu. A coffee table, large ottoman for lounging, a shoe rack, closet for coats, books, games and real plants! Please note the fireplace is not operational. Bedrooms/Bathrooms: Primary bedroom has queen bed and an additional twin which can be used for a guest or just for lounging and relaxing. Primary bedroom and ensuite half bath have been renovated this yeae with a stylish desert inspired mural and cork flooring - perfect for your insta pics. Additional sleeping space is on the couches in the living room (space for one person per couch).There is 1.5 baths inside the house with a full tub. There are 10 beaches in total to choose from and upon check in you will find a list of our favorite places to dine, paddle, hike and swim - including some secret local spots!! On foot, you can hike on gorgeous conservation trails right off our street! There are trails everywhere in our neighborhood which makes getting your daily walk, run or bike in very easy. We are minutes from upscale Osterville Village, Historic Barnstable and Centerville Villages and just a 10 minute drive to Main St. Hyannis -all excellent spots for shopping and dining. There are FOUR breweries within 10 miles of our house - including the brand new Treehouse Brewery! There are a handful of ice cream shops nearby, including the famous Four Seas (JFK's family ice cream shop).Additionally you'll be within 10 minutes to many local farm stands and several grocery stores including Whole Foods, Trader Joes, BJ's and pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens. Welcome to Cranberry Hollow Cottage, A three bedroom, two bath cottage on an acre of land just steps from our private neighborhood beach on the east-side of Wequaquet Lake cove that gives you sun all day and photo-worthy, spectacular sunsets.This property is family owned, not corporate owned. This recently updated 1100 sq ft family cottage in Centerville, MA gives you a taste of everything that we love about Cape Cod. It was originally built in the 1940s and has a newly renovated kitchen, bathrooms, mudroom, updated bedrooms and living areas and a large Weber gas grill and outdoor dining area. We recently fenced in the back yard with wire fencing and two cedar wood two-door swinging gates. The house is in a neighborhood known for walkers, friendly faces walking dogs, pushing baby carriages or simply exercising in the fresh air. In addition to a deeded rights to a neighborhood private beach, a unique feature we offer with this house is access to a walking trail around cranberry bogs. Follow the short woodland trail out the back of the property to a cranberry bog with a dirt road that takes you around two functional bogs full of growing cranberries. Then grab your beach towels and walk down the street for a quick dip in a lake or spend the day on the beaches along a pretty little cove via our deeded lakeside beach rights. No need to pack a car, just a short walk from the front door. (We love to spend mornings at the ocean and finish the day on the lake, the best of both worlds are nearby!)Have a boat on a trailer? Cranberry Hollow is less than a mile from the public boat landing on Wequaquet Lake. Wequaquet is known for almost year-round bass fishing, and in the warm weather, sailboats and power boats share the lake. Jet skis are not permitted to be launched from the public landing unless they are kept by lakefront owners.This property is located halfway between North Side and South Side Cape Cod public ocean beaches. The famous "Southside" beach on Nantucket Sound, Craigville Beach, is 10 minutes away and the beautiful "Northside" Sandy Neck beach on Sandy Neck Conservation area is 15 minutes away. Hop on the Mid-Cape Highway and you are one hour from the stunning beaches at the Cape Cod National Seashore. There are movie theaters and mini-golf and ice creams shops and harbor tours and whale watches all within driving distance. We are on the "Mid-Cape" right in the MIDDLE of Cape Cod and ready to host your best vacation, ever!Its just two miles to major grocery stores, and another mile to the Cape Cod Mall, Target etc. We are 10 minutes from bars and restaurants of Main Street, Hyannis and the commercial fishing and ferry docks in Hyannis. We take bookings year-round. Consider the fall when our whole area fills with colors, cranberries are harvested in mid to late October and as we approach fall the bog begins to display the colors of the red berries. In the spring, walking trails, beaches and marshes are prime for bird watching, while ocean fishing is active as the ocean currents transition. Or experience a true New England winter as the holidays twinkle and bundle up and see the beauty of Cape Cod without all the crowds. Amenities:In addition to our two bathrooms with showers, we have an outdoor shower with hot and cold water from spring through late fall.We have one bedroom with a king size bed, one with a queen size bed, and one with two twins, one twin is XL.We believe in extra pillows! Each room has plenty of extra pillows. Each bedroom has an multiple sets extra linens. We provide a Keurig coffee maker, toaster, microwave, brand new stove with oven that has convection and air fryer options. We provide paper, plastic and Fiestaware dinnerware. We provide pots and pans and baking pans and sheets. There is a full washer and dryer with a folding station and laundry baskets for each room. We have air conditioners in each bedroom and larger capacity in the kitchen dining area, and the living room for warm weather, or simply open the windows and let the breezes in.We have a powerful wi-fi modem -up to1000 Mbps to stream whatever devices you bring.The living room includes a 60 inch TV with Xumo Xfinity streaming box to stream via your favorite apps. We do not use cable as cable services here have been problematic, but you can use your own cable streaming app via the Xumo box. You can even use your own Roku stick.For excellent outdoor cooking and dining, we provide a provide a grill and outdoor table and chairs. And we will also provide beach towels and beach chairs to use at the beaches.Be sure to have your Merlin app ready to identify the many varieties of birds that come to the feeder, and live in the woods in back and the swamp across the street. Listen in the evening and into the night to the low baritone of the bullfrogs in the marsh across the street and the occasional hoot of an owl in the trees. Hear screeches and watch osprey over lake, hawks over the bogs and new: there are eagles living on the other side of the lake who occasionally visit our cove to fish. There is always a resident blue heron in the cove. If you are lucky, you will see the shy muskrat fishing for muscles. All types of turtles hang out in the cove and you can play the game, "is that a leaf or stick, or a turtle popping it's head above the water?" To the east of Craigville Beach is the residents-only Covells Beach. Wequaquet Lake, the Cape’s largest lake, is popular with residents and their guests, and Centerville River inlet is terrific for canoeing and kayaking. Centerville is just minutes to downtown Hyannis, the Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport, summer theatre, the Cape Cod Mall, golf, and ferries to the islands of Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard.
