In 2016, poet Meng Yifei set his creative roots in Guizhou and founded the high-end resort brand "Heart of the Mountains", with "poetry + design" as its soul. Dedicated to crafting poetic dwellings, the brand has now unfolded 4 secluded havens along the eastern Guizhou route.
Heart of the Mountains · Xijiang – the third masterpiece of the brand – embodies the essence of "cliff dwelling". After seven years of searching for the perfect site, it finally settled on a hilltop in Baibi Village, adjacent to Leigong Mountain National Forest Park. Facing Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village across the mountains, this retreat is just a 15-minute drive from Guizhou’s iconic scenic spot, offering a peaceful haven away from the hustle while embracing the grandeur of nature.
Every guest room serves as a frame for nature’s beauty. Expansive floor-to-ceiling windows invite the outdoors in: lush green mountains in spring, a sea of twinkling lights over the Miao Village in summer, and layered terraced fields in autumn. Each season unfolds its unique charm, and pleasant surprises await around every corner.
The cliffside viewing platform stands as a "blank space" for dialogue with heaven and earth. From its boundless perspective, you can feast your eyes on emerald forests, scattered Miao villages, and stacked terraces. Occasionally, rolling seas of clouds surge forward, brushing past your shoulders – a moment that blurs the line between the mortal world and a poetic wonderland.
"The hotel's overall environment is quite pleasant. Although a bit remote and the road up the mountain is a bit winding, the view from the hotel is well worth it, overlooking the entire valley. The housekeeper was also very helpful, turning on the heater in advance, helping with our luggage, and even bringing us a large bowl of fruit.
Compared to other accommodations within Qianhu Miao Village, this one is remarkably quiet. We were the only family staying that day, so it was quite peaceful, and we could hear the crows cawing outside. Highly recommended for those who enjoy listening to the sounds of nature. It's also perfect for small groups and team building. If you're not pressed for time, you can stay in the hotel for a while, enjoying the beautiful valley views and even wearing Miao clothing (provided free of charge) for photos.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-equipped. Most of the appliances are Xiaomi. It would be even better if they could be upgraded with smart technology."
