"Located on the shores of Lake Saroma, facing west, this hotel offers excellent sunset views. The onsen (hot spring) is quite nice, with facilities on both floors, and the dinner buffet is well worth the price. The hotel has been open for a while, and there's a persistent issue with the ventilation units or air conditioning units experiencing low-frequency resonance. Luckily, I brought earplugs and wasn't bothered while sleeping; all three rooms we booked had this problem. The second-floor Japanese-style villas have traditional decor, outdated facilities, and small bathrooms, but the bedrooms are spacious and include a small terrace. I would recommend the lake-view rooms on the fourth floor. They're newly renovated, the showers are very comfortable (no need to step into the bathtub!), and the bedrooms are large enough to suit modern lifestyles."

"For the rather off-the-beaten-path location of "Onne-yu Onsen" in Rube City, "Oe Honke" is an excellent inn. It's clearly a family-run business, with incredibly friendly and attentive staff, which was very satisfying. The spring water quality is also exceptionally high; the alkaline, skin-brightening properties of the hot spring are a major selling point, and the fact that it's a direct-flowing spring is a testament to its quality. Those who appreciate hot springs will recognize its excellence. I especially loved the moderate temperature of the water, making it perfect for those who don't frequently use hot springs, allowing for extended soaking and a true enjoyment of the excellent water. I say this in contrast to locals who are accustomed to very hot springs and find excessively hot water unbearable; otherwise, even the highest quality water is useless. Therefore, I truly loved the hot spring at this inn—the water was of high quality and at the perfect temperature! Regarding the "family-run inns" mentioned above, I especially want to point out that the inns themselves, and indeed the Onone-Yu Onsen resort, clearly reflect the rise and fall they have experienced throughout history. Even so, the Oe Honke inn still stands today, and the rooms and still-open public areas are generally kept clean and bright, which shows considerable effort and is very satisfying. However, there is one obvious drawback: the quality of the food. My dinner and breakfast were both buffet style. Although the venue was large and the variety seemed extensive, closer inspection revealed that the food was not high-end, and even lacked the attention to detail of the "local specialties" commonly found in onsen inns. I don't know how to put it, but it just felt strange. There were many visual choices, but I couldn't bring myself to buy anything; it was as if I wanted to skip everything, even giving it a slightly "tourist group meal" feel. Also, I noticed that the food was often refilled to the brim, but at the end of the meal, large piles were thrown away, all wasted. Even as a guest, I felt very sorry for the waste. If the food quality is due to cost considerations, I think the inn should pay close attention to this aspect of its management. Speaking of which, if you don't want to eat at the hotel's mediocre buffet, and there aren't many other options outside, then Ruhei City's Onone-Yu Onsen-kyo is a very declining onsen town. Considering the high quality of the spring water, its decline is truly regrettable. Overall, considering the staff service and the quality of the spring water, I am generally satisfied with this visit."
