This hotel is my top choice for a layover in Kunming, and the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The front desk staff, especially Xiao Luo and Yue Liang, were composed and polite during check-in and check-out, making the process quick and hassle-free. They were also very responsive and attentive to my needs. The hotel is conveniently located right next to Kunming South Station and offers a shuttle service. The room was clean and tidy with no strange odors. All the appliances and bathroom fixtures were well-maintained and looked new. The soundproofing was excellent, allowing me to get a good night's sleep after a long day of travel. The value for money is outstanding.

The room layout was well-designed, stylishly decorated, spacious, bright, and comfortable. Since I stayed for eight days, I received a complimentary upgrade to a south-facing room. I've previously stayed at Mengjing hotels in Xishuangbanna and downtown Kunming, and I've always been impressed by their focus on service and hygiene. That's why I chose Mengjing again this time. The breakfast was a bit limited, but it was enough to fill me up and tasted good. The cook also kept the area very clean. Although the central air conditioning in each room could be individually adjusted, it wasn't very effective. The front desk staff kindly provided me with an electric heater, which solved my heating issue. The young lady at the front desk was consistently polite and helpful. I'm very grateful for her assistance during my stay. While the hotel aims for good value for money, I hope they can improve the overall comfort. Due to the affordable price, many guests with less desirable etiquette also stay here. There was smoking everywhere, loud conversations in the hallway until 2 or 3 AM, and a general disregard for others. Additionally, the soundproofing isn't as good as an apartment, so I was often woken up in the middle of the night. It seems the hotel is struggling to address this issue.

As a layover from Kunming South Station, this Sheraton wasn't particularly close, nor did it offer shuttle services like other hotels, and the price wasn't much of an advantage. But drawn by the Marriott Group and the Sheraton brand, I still chose to stay here. Let me state some objective facts. Mid-2026 has already passed, yet the hotel's decorations, from the lobby to the restaurant, still exude a 'Happy New Year' festive atmosphere. The lobby had complimentary fresh flowers, and you could pick a vase to take to your room. However, the flowers weren't very fresh to begin with, and after one night, they all wilted. Fresh flowers are meant to provide emotional value, and Kunming's biggest advantage is its flowers; the hotel shouldn't be short on this budget. If they're not fresh, I suggest removing them and only displaying them when they are. The hotel is across from a hospital, and our room faced it, so we could hear ambulance sirens, which is understandable. But typically, a hotel restaurant is in the location with the best view. Yet, waking up to eat breakfast facing a hospital… you can imagine. We booked connecting rooms. The twin room had a large bathroom with a bathtub. The king room had a shower, was a bit smaller, with a shower curtain above but no barrier below, so the floor was all wet after showering. Upon arrival, the outdoor parking lot wasn't large. We were later told it was under renovation. The underground parking lot wasn't very bright either, with tight turning angles. Our car is quite large, so it was a bit challenging.

This is our top pick for a summer road trip! The free, dedicated parking was a huge relief – no more hunting for a spot. The location is absolutely fantastic, making it incredibly easy to get around and visit attractions. Surrounded by lush greenery, the environment is serene and peaceful, and the summer temperatures were wonderfully comfortable and cool. Our room was spacious with a large window offering expansive views. The interior decor was tasteful and spotless, and all the amenities were well-stocked. The front desk staff were very attentive, and the public lounge area was perfect for a relaxing break. Upon checking out, we even received a lovely floral tea as a farewell gift. Excellent value for money!

Room: The bedding was excellent, ensuring a very comfortable sleep. For the price, the room size was quite generous, and both the toilet and shower areas were spacious enough, making for a comfortable experience. Facilities: Very well-maintained. While not as smart or modern as newly opened hotels, the facilities were more than adequate. This established hotel clearly excels in many small details. Service: Superb. Location: Very close to the South Railway Station, and they offer pick-up/drop-off services. Downstairs, there's a lively snack street in the university town. It's also relatively close to Dounan Flower Market, though a bit of a distance from the old city center.

I initially booked this hotel online without much thought, and honestly, the value for money is absolutely incredible. The lobby greeted me with a lovely floral scent, and the front desk staff were professional and efficient, making check-in super fast. They patiently answered all my questions, and when they found out we enjoyed watching sports, they even upgraded us to a deluxe cinema king room. Watching the World Cup on the 120-inch screen was fantastic! The room was spotless, the bathroom had no strange odors or water stains, and the bedding was soft and comfortable. The whole room was well-ventilated and felt fresh. The facilities were well-maintained and looked new; the lighting, hot water, and air conditioning all worked perfectly. The soundproofing was excellent, so I wasn't bothered by any hallway noise. Downstairs, it's right next to Wanda Plaza, and just a bit further is Qicai Yunnan No.1 City, so you can find any kind of food you're craving. Unfortunately, it's been raining a lot in Kunming recently. I went out without an umbrella, got caught in the rain, and started feeling a bit sick. I ordered some medicine and filled in the address provided by the front desk, but after waiting over half an hour, it still hadn't arrived. My phone even showed it as delivered. I called the delivery driver to ask where it was, and it turned out he had delivered it to the wrong building. He refused to come back and redeliver it, and then hung up on me, which made me furious. I asked the front desk for help finding my medicine. When they learned I had a cold, they brought me a cup of hot water for my medicine and thoughtfully brought an umbrella, reminding me that it's rainy season in Kunming and it's better to carry one. Their service truly warmed my heart. I will definitely be strongly recommending this place to my friends here.

The location is fantastic, within walking distance of the South Station, and very convenient with plenty of amenities nearby. The room was cozy and thoughtfully designed, with excellent attention to detail, including a separate wet and dry area in the bathroom and soft bedding. The front desk service was incredibly attentive, proactively helping us plan our itinerary. It truly felt like a home away from home.

It's definitely the top choice for accommodation around the South Station. The hotel's biggest highlight is its free shuttle service. Just book in advance, and a dedicated vehicle will pick you up. The driver was very kind and helped with my luggage, and it took only about fifteen minutes to get directly to the high-speed rail station. There's no need to rush for early morning or late-night trains. It's also very close to the subway and Dounan Flower Market, making it super convenient for getting around and shopping. The European-style lobby is elegantly decorated, with crystal chandeliers creating a fantastic ambiance. Front desk staff member Xiao Dai (001) was efficient and patient during check-in, and any requests I had were handled very quickly. The guest room was spacious and bright, with impeccable hygiene details; all the corners were wiped clean with no strange odors. The smart voice control for lights and curtains was very convenient. The brand mattress was just the right firmness, and the soundproofing in the room was excellent, ensuring a good night's sleep even after a long day. The bathroom had a dry/wet separation, hot water was stable and plentiful, and the toiletries were of good quality. The self-service breakfast offered a rich variety, and the freshly cooked Yunnan 'small pot rice noodles' are a must-try – very authentic local flavor. There's even free rice noodle supper late at night, which was both warming and comforting. The self-service laundry room, free parking, and EV charging stations are all available, making it suitable for both business and leisure travelers. The value for money far exceeds other hotels in the same price range. Next time I'm in Kunming, I will definitely choose this hotel again. I genuinely recommend it to anyone traveling to or from Kunming South Station.

Choosing C'est La Vie Hotel was an excellent decision for our trip. It's incredibly convenient for getting to and from Kunming South Railway Station, and their complimentary shuttle service is a fantastic bonus! The room was comfortable, clean, and well-maintained, with great attention to detail. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely choose this hotel again next time!
