"We had an absolutely amazing stay at Hotel Rote Wand in April! My girlfriend and I spent three nights there, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. One of the highlights was definitely the food experience. The Chef’s Table was outstanding – creative, refined, and truly memorable. On top of that, the “Friends and Fools” dinner was such a fun and unique experience, with a great atmosphere and incredible dishes. We also went skiing, and even in spring the ski-in/ski-out setup worked surprisingly well. On the way back, we only had to walk about two minutes due to limited snow – totally fine and still very convenient. The spa area was another big highlight. We loved the pools and especially the sauna program, including an amazing sauna show that we didn’t expect at this level. What really makes this hotel special, though, is the overall vibe. It’s a family-run place with so much personality, combining a super cool, modern design with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay. All in all, a perfect mix of luxury, fun, and authenticity. We’ll definitely be back at Rote Wand!"

"Absolute fantastic.. As a last minute walk in, nothing was a problem, so welcoming straight away, very helpful in every aspect. Everything spotless clean, organized, feeling homely and warm. Perfect lovely staff, waited / prepared breakfast buffet just for us fresh, free nibbles at the Sauna, nice tasteful decor everywhere, shown around the Hotel for future room options, helpful bar staff about nearby travel options, just a overall pleasant experience, yes, how it should be, but what is sometimes often missed. The little things, the attention towards all of us by staff and owners, Just very happy, pleasantly surprised about old school values of the hotel business still in use. Will definetly recommend and return if possible. A happy Australian Gold Coast Family."

"We have been going to this hotel almost annually for 35 years and have watched it get better and better each season, while retaining and even exceeding its family charm and level of excellence. It would be repetitious and unnecessary for me to elaborate on all the outstanding qualities of this property (note that over 90% of reviews classify it as EXCELLENT). The important thing for readers to know is simply that the rooms, facilities, service and cuisine all combine to form the best hotel not only in Lech, but in the entire Arlberg region. Reviews which are less than excellent (I have read them all) are totally unjustified and reflect the inappropriateness and ignorance of their authors; I fear these people carry excess mental luggage into their writings and almost all criticisms are unwarranted. And yes, this hotel can be pricey, but as I always say: "You get what you pay for". The overall experience here is truly 5+ star and one pays fairly for the ultimate mountain hotel experience (probably in the world). Kudos to the Schneider Family and their entire fabulous staff !"

"Unfortunately we only stayed one night but a perfect little hotel to stay in during spring. About a five minute walk to the Rüdikopf gondola and shops. Also a short but a little steep walk to the town ‘butcher’ which also has a restaurant - and wonderful Leberkäs. The rooms were spacious with a comfortable lounge and our room had the biggest bathroom. Breakfast is plentiful with good choices. The owner is exceptionally friendly."

"Went here in April 2026 to ski with long time friends. Highly recommended by one friend. It did not disappoint. Logistically, it is nearby the main Gondola, but you can walk to other lifts. The locker rooms are a great addition, including boot warmers. We skied our last day, and we were able to stow our bags, and allowed to shower and clean up in their sauna area. Rooms: stayed in a bedroom with 2 twins, plus a 3rd twin in a section that can be partitioned off. There was a nice outdoor balcony. Clean. Roomy. Perfect for me and a friend. Dining: this was unexpected. I knew breakfast and dinner was included. As an American, this can somewhat be overstated. Not here. Breakfast included premium coffee, fresh squeezed juice- even a juicer you can use - and an assortment of meat, cheese, fruits and baked items. The omelet station was excellent. The dinner varied each night and they all hit the mark. You get a buffet to start with. Which in some cases could be enough. But then you are served three course - you select a main of either meat, fish or vegetarian option - and a great dessert. Hospitality: the owner Martin and family, and their staff are so warm and friendly. They helped with our ski passes, spa day access, and our van service back to Zurich. Dining and bar services were top notch. Big shout out to Gabriel, who took great care of us with our wine choices. Value: for the location and all the positives, above, it is truly great value. I cannot wait to go back. I highly recommend for you and friends, couples or a family. Perfect regardless."

"Small but nice house. Not cheap, but nothing is cheap in Lech.....My single room (with parquet flooring) was spacious enough, nice and clean bathroom. The bed has a good mattress, the duvet was too warm for me personally (but that's a matter of taste). The kettle in the room was very practical! The breakfast buffet is great! Very good selection of different things! The homemade muesli is a highlight!! I will definitely come back!"

"I just got back from my third trip to Sandhof in the last 15 months, 2 with my family and 1 with law school friends. There are a number of things that stand out about Sandhof, the first being the genuine friendliness of its owner and staff. They treat their guests like family. The wine cellar is stellar. Gabriel is a wine aficionado, and his recommendations were always spot on. Dinners there are excellent and a great deal. My favorites this last trip were the pesto and the schnitzel. I also really love the seeded bread every night, with the selections of cheeses. On Monday nights, a traditional Austrian folk band comes to play music, which makes that evening particularly jolly. Many of the rooms come with balconies and a perfect view of the church. The convenience is hard to beat for the price, given the proximity of the gondola to Oberlech and the 2-seat lift up to Schlossköpfe. Plus, for next season, Many of the guests seem to come back year after year, and my family will be doing so for the foreseeable future."
