I do not know where to begin. we arrive in the room in the morning and the air conditioning leaks profusely in the shower. We ask to fix it but they say it is a plumbing problem and then they turn it off. Our friends same problem in another room with also explosion during the night of the bulb in the bathroom. In the afternoon the air conditioning continues to remain off and other customers report copious air-conditioning leaks in the room. The noise of the highway makes sleep very difficult and the windows do not cushion anything. Very hot night with still the winter duvet. At around 2 in the morning some very angry customers scream complaining about the copious water from the air conditioning. window which was impossible as the window was on the other side of the room .. it had not been opened and the ants came out from under the tiles ...... in the bathroom the tub handle was rusty ... shame because the structure has strong potential

It's a fairytale! It took me a lot to decide if to take the risk to travel or not. I'm glad I did take the risk! This is the first holiday when I don't check anything about the place I was going to stay, surrounding area not at all, just wanted to escape London for a bit. From far one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. The hotel looks like a museum, incredibly amazing, surprises didn't chased to happen, they have a pool, tennis court, soccer court so many facilities, it's crazy. The room I've stayed, stunning,the view from the balcony took my breath away. It's quite, it's beautiful, it's perfect! Hotel stuff, they couldn't do any better than this, friendly, willing to assist whenever necessary, I felt like home! I've even got an early check in 🤗.Thank you Domenico, Monica, Andrea, Manpreet and everyone else!!! For anyone looking to escape the madness from a busy city like London let's say, this is the best place to be! P.S. make sure you bring mosquitoes spray, as I've mentioned I haven't done any inquiries before coming so, mosquitoes attack wasn't fun at all. I was looking forward to have dinner in the outdoors restaurant which ended up being a nightmare, but it was entirely my fault, the hotel is located on a hill, surrendered by trees obviously you'll have to deal with mosquitoes. Set in a peaceful area close to a lovely little town called Sesto Calende. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely balcony overlooking woodland. As it is out of the way, they also sell plated meals at reasonable prices which can be heated in their kitchen area, if you don’t want to head out. Lovely staff, will definitely return.

Our stay was wonderful. Great location, beautiful property. We were so impressed with the management by Simona and Alberto. Great people who worked very, very hard every day to support their clients. Our room was classic and the view was tremendous. . Massive bathroom and massive bed. Had great aperitivos on the patio (when it wasn't raining) and a dinner with Nonna's lasagne on our last night. Highly recommended for a romantic get-away in Lake Maggiore. Which in it self is worth a week.

It is a grand old hotel though well maintained with modern comfortable rooms. The beds were good. There is an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. The grassy area outdoors near the pool is a great place to sit and look at the lake and at Isola Bella. Service was very good. Only problem was the food. We were here as part of a group and had half board. Breakfast was OK, but dinner was very spotty. Mostly not so good, a few good meals. Avoid the fish, always way overcooked. If you are not tied to a group walk into town for dinners.

We stayed at Hotel Splendid for 2 nights while enjoying Lake Maggiore, we had wonderful weather. This Hotel is beautiful, quite grand but in a friendly way, the interiors are classic light and airy make the most of stunning views across the lake. The reception team are very welcoming and friendly and we were greeted like old friends. They very simply and efficiently organised a private water taxi for us to tour the lake and the islands with a lovely skipper who dropped us off and picked us up as we wished. It saved so much queuing on the Islands and we could follow our own timetable. It cost €100 for the both of us and was worth it. We had dinner one night on the terrace over looking the lake which was fabulous. Beautifully presented melon and their local cured ham which was sweet and delicious. The lamb was cooked to perfection and my husband’s perch fresh and tasty. The restaurant team were both efficient but fun too. A lovely evening. Our room was one of their corner suites which was roomy, light with two balconies on the 5th floor so again wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. It had everything we needed including a welcome bottle of Prosecco. The only hiccup was a small bathroom incident when I got stuck in the toilet! The sliding doors that separated it from the main bathroom got jammed and there I was. Fortunately there was a phone on the wall so I tried enough numbers to finally attract the attention of reception who responded immediately and I was released. This clearly needs looking at and was not fixed during our stay but the Hotel from management down were apologetic, understanding and could not have done more apart from take the bathroom apart which I’m sure they will do now we have left. This was a wonderful stay in a beautiful place inside a charming and well run Hotel. Swimming in the lake was sublime, warm, calm with sun beds a few steps away from the water. If you book a suite the use of the Spa is included however at this time of year the lake is perfect plus there is an outdoor pool. Thank you Hotel Splendid.

Breakfast is too good! The train station walks 300 meters. Opposite the lake can take a boat. Bathroom accessories are exquisite! Staff is very friendly and introduces many attractions! The lake room is great

My wife and I discovered this wonderful place after traveling everywhere in Europe for the last 40 years. As a travel writer I have confidently shared our discovery of this wonderful place with many friends and readers. From the moment you arrive you receive a warm greeted by the most professional and caring staff. Everyone is attentive and truly want to make your stay a good one. When we arrived mid day we went to the pool for a wonderful lunch. Near us was a table with an attractive family, of 3 generations and their family dog, They were the family who owns and manages the property , ”eating their own cooking” as we say, and enjoying the quiet loveliness of their own property. There are 3 choices of accommodations here, each wonderful and meeting special preferences. We stayed in the Palazzo and loved it, but the Castello/Castle and its garden and views are outstanding. The rooms in the beautifully renovated stables with large grass common area are very accommodating, especially for families with children. The whole property is a destination in itself with so many things to see. We had breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks, all in totally different environments, and it all was superb. In closing, we all know that the staff makes all the difference wherever we stay. Again, the staff, and owners, could not be more welcoming, joyful and professional.
