"It was an incredible experience to stay in such a cute fairy-tale-like house for about 40,000 yen per room for my family! It makes me feel like I've bought a house in France. The garden is beautiful, and there are plenty of amenities (soap, coffee, tea, hair dryer, towels, etc.). The staff was also kind, and it was a very comfortable stay. The only disappointment was that the signal was too weak and I couldn't connect to Wi-Fi. However, the staff made their best effort to connect to the free signal, and since I have an eSIM, it wasn't a big problem. The problem was my father. In the first place, I wonder why he had to bring work with him on a trip, and he was frustrated that he couldn't use his PC and work, even though there are plenty of ways to do it, such as tethering. So, if you are staying, please come after finishing your work. If you do that, you will have a really wonderful experience. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to have the elegant experience of having breakfast on a nice terrace. But it was a wonderful inn that I would like to come back again just for that experience! Given the location of the town, it's not an easy place to travel to, but I think Japanese people especially love this place. It has an atmosphere and scenery that you definitely won't find in Japan... I can understand why people from overseas want to stay in a traditional Japanese house. I'm half wanting everyone to know about it, and half wanting to keep it a secret forever. There are plenty of beds, and the toilet and shower room are separate!"

"This hotel is a gem! There is nothing like it in all of Caen! To these 2 Americans, it felt very Parisian. Incredible location, kind staff who spoke excellent English (which we needed), wonderful hospitality, and though not inexpensive, a very good value! Be prepared to be flexible about parking, but parking is not a problem. Just have to do on-street parking, which is free at night, nearby. Dozens of fabulous restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, and shopping nearby. Walking distance to all of the sites!"

"My friend and I are traveling around France for a couple of weeks. We picked this hotel based on reviews and price. It was a good location to drive to Omaha Beach and the surrounding area. We each had a room with a king size bed, a very large bathroom with a wonderful shower and separate large tub. Free Coffee, tea and water provided in the room and a small refrigerator with snacks and drinks available at a modest price. Beds were very comfortable and room temp was great. Very quiet location and free parking. The best thing was Julia, the front desk staff person. Extraordinary service and assistance with everything we needed including ordering Thai food from a local restaurant because the restaurant was closed on Sunday night and Monday night, the two nights we were there. She deserves a GIANT Thank You and a Gold Star! I would definitely stay there again if I ever return to France."

"Τι απίστευτη και αναμνηστική διαμονή... που μας καλωσόρισαν ο Αρνολντ και ο Λίο όταν ήρθαμε... που γρήγορα φρόντιζαν τις βαλίτσες μας, παρκάρουν το αυτοκίνητό μας και μας περιηγούνταν. Είχαμε μια υπέροχη σουίτα με ειρηνική θέα, κοιτάζοντας πίσω από το σπίτι και μέσα στο δάσος. Το δωμάτιο ήταν πολύ μεγάλο και όμορφο, και η διακόσμηση ήταν όμορφη, προστέθηκε στην αυθεντικότητα, λαμβάνοντας υπόψη ότι το ντους χτίστηκε τον 18ο αιώνα. Το κρεβάτι ήταν πολύ άνετο, το μπάνιο ήταν τέλεια, μεγάλο ντους και μεγάλο λουτρό. Είχε όλα τα εφόδια που χρειαζόμασταν... μας άρεσε να ιππεύουμε με ποδήλατα γύρω από το δάσος... και να τρώνε τα δύο γαϊδούρια. Πολλά φρέσκα πατάτες, φρούτα, jogurt, το σπίτι φτιάχνει κοκκινόλα, τυρί, καπνιστό σολομό, αυγά, λουκάνικα, πατάτες. Υπάρχει επίσης τσάι λουλούδι διαθέσιμο όλη μέρα στην περιοχή του λόμπι, καθώς και φιλτραρισμένο νερό. Η υπηρεσία για πρωινό ήταν υπέροχη. Όλοι οι υπάλληλοι είναι πολύ ευγενικοί και πολύ προσεκτικοί. Η ιδιοκτησία σας επιστρέφει εγκαίρως. Είναι αρκετά μαγικό να περπατάς γύρω από αυτό το τέλος για να νιώσεις την θέα του όταν οδηγείς ειδικά τη νύχτα. "My husband and I spent 3 nights at this absolutely wonderful place. We had the best time - everything was perfect. We were welcomed by the hosts who did everything to make us feel welcome. And so we did - with good recommendations and laughter. We got a wonderful room, and the first evening we had the best Fruit de Mer we have ever had - fresh and local. The breakfast was with lots of homemade "good stuff" - there is cared for every detail. We had such a good time - both at the Chateau but it is also the perfect place for exploring Normandie coast. "What to say about this beautiful mansion/castle… It is a gorgeous building, with a gorgeous park, and gorgeous potential. But unfortunately I believe it is also a very difficult and expensive business for the owners to keep up with not only the style/deco, cleanliness of the amenities and labour charges for the service. The staff we met was really sweet and helpful to us, but surely overworked and multitasking at everything. I have plenty I could discuss here, there is so much that could be done to make this castle hotel experience as a premium one. But, am not the owner, I don’t have the responsibility and the stress of maintaining a HUGE place with limited revenue and forever overheads to deal with…. I’d like everyone here to think that when you are choosing to stay in a castle, and you pay only €160 a night, you cannot expect the results of a €350 one. So, yes, there are many things to improve at BelleFontaine, but please, do continue to stay there, dear Travellers, to allow the owners and their family members, to take care of their castle. Thank you for them. (If the owners want me to tell what I would recommend… contact me! )"

"The location and condition of the hotel itself were good, but one thing that happened after check out left me very disappointed with the hotel room management and service. We accidentally left two pairs of shoes in room 501 on the day of check-out, and the shoes were packed in a red Maxim paper bag. I found out just a few hours after checking out and immediately called the hotel and then emailed with very specific messages including room number, items and packaging. But the hotel replied that it was not found. What makes me particularly difficult to understand is that when we stayed in room 501, we found a pair of old shoes left by the previous guests in the closet, which seemed to have been there for a long time. This in itself made me wonder whether the hotel's housekeeping would carefully check the closet and other places. We reported missing two pairs of shoes only a few hours after we checked out, but we didn't find them. As we were leaving France for Italy soon, it was difficult to send even if found, so I did not continue to ask the hotel to find it. Two pairs of shoes are not very valuable items in themselves, but the whole experience left me very disappointed with the hotel's housekeeping and the lost property management. For a hotel of this grade, I think guests should be able to expect more serious, reliable room inspections and lost property management."

"A gem of a place to stay. Only 5 bedrooms and as far from a corporate experience as you can get! The rooms are very tastefully decorated, comfortable and spacious. Our bathroom had a bath as well as shower. The garden is lovely, with a small, well heated pool. Eric’s welcome and help while we stayed was much appreciated. Breakfast was vast and delicious. Honfleur centre was close enough to walk to (but far enough away to ensure tranquility!)."
