"Have done 2 weeks of Junior Tennis Camp. One without and one while staying at the Academy… Tennis: There really isn’t much training. They just let the kids play, and play, and play… On the last day there is a ceremony where everyone gets a participation trophy. Fun fact: in both weeks we were there, it was always the biggest cheater in the whole team who received the sportsmanship award. One driver of this is that the “coaches” didn’t watch what was happening on the courts. Even on the final competition day… Key “value” taught: “Cheat as much as you can…” Organisation: They have an app that rarely works. Forget the schedule on the app. It constantly changes and you will never know where your kid is or is supposed to be… Yiu get access cards for the Academy that only work 50% of the time. Other: - We had some heavy rain upon which everything broke down for the rest of our stay. No spa, no pool, building materially flooded. Zero compensation. - You will virtually never get towels for the gym (or the pool, IF it’s open). Need to bring your own, but not from your room as that’s not allowed… - Around 2/3 of water stations don’t work - On the last day the kids have a ceremony, BBQ and festives. The parents, aka folks who paid for everything, don’t get anything - they can watch with no food and not even a glass of water. Awesome way to end the experience in a memorable way - You get free access to the Rafael Badal Museum - except you never get access because it’s always booked out Bottom line: Mass factory, highly commercialised, you are just a number."

From the minute we arrived, everyone at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The building itself is beautiful and has been thoughtfully restored. The grounds are phenomenal, and the view from the pool was lovely and so relaxing. Dinner in the evening was cooked to order and was delicious. So was the breakfast. If you are looking for a charming, family orientated hotel which is non corporate and very personal, I would totally recommend the Son Mas. We can't wait to return."

"We recently stayed at Alua Calas de Mallorca and overall had a good holiday, with some definite highs and a few frustrations. If you’re booking, I would recommend upgrading to the My Favourite Club option. The room is significantly bigger, and although the extra perks are fairly limited, they are worthwhile. You get pool towels included, a free safe, drinks in the minibar, and access to the My Favourite Club lounge near reception where you can help yourself to cold bottles of fizzy drinks, pastries, snacks and refreshments throughout the day. The biggest downside was the sunbed situation. Unless you’re up at 6am and reserving a bed no later than around 8:30am, you’ve got very little chance of getting one. Reception told us that the lifeguards regularly patrol the pool and remove towels from unattended beds, but in reality they didn’t start doing this until around 9:45am. During our week-long stay, we only saw it happen twice. One of those occasions was to us, despite the fact we were literally in the pool two metres in front of the lifeguard and all of our belongings were on the bed, clearly showing it was being used. Unfortunately, the lifeguards were generally quite rude and unhelpful, which let the rest of the hotel down. Food-wise, as probably one of the fussiest eaters you’ll ever meet, I managed perfectly well with the basics such as chips, pizza and burgers available throughout the day. My partner, however, really enjoyed the themed evening menus offered across both restaurants, and there was a good variety for those willing to try different foods. The all-inclusive drinks package was probably the most disappointing aspect of the holiday. Soft drinks on tap are included, as is San Miguel beer and the hotel’s own-brand spirits. That’s fine if you’re happy drinking clunky vodka. Cocktails, milkshakes and smoothies come at an additional cost, this wasn’t made particularly clear when booking and felt especially disappointing given that we’d paid extra for the My Favourite Club upgrade. The location is another thing worth considering. The hotel is quite a distance from many of Mallorca’s main attractions and larger towns but there is a few shops and bars up the road so not totally isolated, but having access to a car or using public transport is almost essential if you plan on exploring the island. That said, the buses were very easy to use with a maps app, and we found getting around straightforward. There is also a path from the hotel all the way down to an almost private beach/cliff and a short walk further along takes you to a beautiful sandy cove with a bar/restaurant. A special mention also goes to Daniel at Mallorca Services, less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel, who was incredibly helpful and made arranging trips and transport simple. On a more positive note, the entertainment was excellent. During our stay we enjoyed three different outdoor singers/bands, a show and a karaoke night, all of which were great fun. The daytime p"

"Spent 5 nights here over the New Year holiday. Stayed in a 2 bedroom /2 bathroom apartment that was modern and spacious. Plenty of closet space. Kitchen was minimally equipped with neither a can opener nor bottle opener /cork screw ; only 2 questionably sharp knives and only small plates. As we planned to cook several meals this required us buying our own. Sound proofing needs to be improved as we could hear every step, door opening and conversation of our neighbors both above and next to us. Pool was beautiful but supposed to be heated and was too cold to enjoy. Despite all of this we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would likely stay here again."
