"The Hotel Belvedere, also known as Pombas Brancas, is located in a high and quiet area, with an excellent view of the city and the bay of Mindelo. We went as a group of friends from the Azores, with the aim of seeing the famous Carnival in São Vicente, as sung in the beautiful song by the great Cesária Évora, São Vicente is a little Brazil, full of joy and color. Although it's a half-hour walk from the center of Mindelo, it's easily accessible by taxi or van for €2. The rooms have balconies with a superb view of the entire Mindelo bay and face west, allowing you to watch an excellent sunset. Furthermore, the staff at the hotel are very friendly and always ready to assist with any request. The group loved it and is considering returning."

"We had an excellent one night stay in this hotel on our way back from San Antao. Centrally located near the historic district/ fish market and a 10 minute walk from the ferry terminal. We had a large room with balcony, very comfortable bed and excellent shower. Staff were particularly attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. Breakfast was varied and excellent. We were able to leave our luggage on the 2nd day after check out ahead of our evening flight. Would definitely recommend. Despite the central location we didn't find the room too noisy at night."

"We stayed for 4 nights and it was perfect. The residential is beautifully decorated, the staff very polite, professional and friendly. Our room was quite spacious and had access to the balcony, it was clean and comfortable. The location is centrally with lots of restaurants and shops within 2 minutes walking distance. The breakfast was superb and there was a considerable selection. The plus for me was katxupa every day! Everyone was so nice, specially Mirna, Mircea and the ladies that prepared the divine breakfast everyday."
