Mobay Kotch

This was my first solo trip out of the country and at a hostel. Mobay Kotch made me feel as though I was not alone. From the time I was picked up from the airport, I felt good vibes. Arriving at the hostel was a bit scary because of the dogs (I am terrified of them). I knew to expect one from reading the reviews, but there were two. After the whole "sniff" thing I had no problems. I met some really cool ppl and we hang out and had tons of fun. Although there was a disgusting moment from one of the guests with cleanliness, overall the place is clean and a housekeeper comes daily. I was aware of there being no central air, so I packed a cooling towel. It is nice and breezy at night with the ceiling fans. The cold showers I could appreciate because it was sooo hottt!!! I ate from the street vendors, because I don't like cooking and EVERYTHING is walking distance. I would definitely stay again.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The location is everything!! Pros: 15-30 min walk from Doc Cave’s Beach , M’garitaville, One Man Beach, and Harmony Beach Park I opted for the private room with dbl bed. Room was quite comfortable. Maria, one of the most friendly souls on the planet, checked me in and offered lots of suggestions on things to do and see in the area. Hi’Lo supermarket at corner of hostel for all your necessities. Just a Couple of suggestions to the manager: when the bathroom is shared, and when one of the 2 toilets aren’t in working order, that needs to be repaired as quickly as possible. Also couldn’t hurt to wipe down the walls and bathroom doors every now and then. Stains show badly on white paint. Would definitely stay here again. Staying here, You will save tons of money to spend on nice restaurants and activities, which was the whole point of vacationing with a local flare. No bath towels provided, no A/C, wifi doesn’t work in the rooms, outlets in the bathroom also doesn’t work and no water fountain, “owner” that refused to give his name, is rude and confront guests. ***SOLO WOMEN : I do not recommend Montego Bay! Been all over but this area really scared me. It’s chaotic. Traffic is horrific. Men catcalls you every other second.*** Hostel’s space is cool but very raw. I know it’s cheap but I’ve been in multiple hostels and the structure was way better. The lady is super nice and attentive. The owner kept confronting me when I complained and asked to cancel my second night. Apparently he is the almighty God, never wrong !!!!!!

The location is very central and that is a plus but this no for sign in case we don't have smart phone or known how use a goo Google map which how I found it. It does offer much the dorm rooms showers have no hot water and the pretty expensive..plus they offer or rent towels sell stuff like shower gels..etc We are guess do we all drink beer which thing sold on property..juices ,water ,coffee,snacks would be nice The sitting area is over crowed but it's big court yard y not use it up and place more bench along the court yard People like my self don't use house WiFi ..

It was a huge pleasure to stay at Mobay Kotch. My friends and I booked three nights. We were met with great hospitality and friendliness. They're very helpful, but also give you some space to do what you like to do. Big plus: there's a garden where you can hang out and have some beers. The location is also convenient. Would definitely recommend staying here!
