Stay away from this hotel and run as far as possible away is my advice. They took my money after over 9weeks! I booked this hotel on the 25th of May for 23-26 of June which at the time was 1month away. I cancelled immediately after booking and it was free cancellation, I cancelled because I found another hotel closer the family I was visiting. All the booking were made of booking.com on the same day. Cancellation was in fact within 10min. Anyway on the 5th August, I saw €380 deducted from my account from Bastion Hotel that was already cancelled. €380 after almost 10weeks! That is fraud! Booking.com said they cannot do anything and that property process payment, property said it say non refundable on booking which was a lie, I asked how come they are taking money after 10week, the hotel did not answer any of my emails. It is either they have employed someone that specialises in fraudulent transaction or they are just thief. Just run away from this hotel. I CONTACTED BOOKING.COM AND WAS REDIRECTED TO THE HOTEL. THE HOTEL DID NOT RESPOND TO EMAIL NOR ANSWER MY CALLS AND BOOKING.COM SAID THEY REQUESTED A WAIVE BUT THE PROPERTY SAID NO. I ASKED WHY AFTER 71 DAYS BUT NO RESPONSE. PLS RUN 🏃‍♂️ AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. ONCE THEY HAVE ACCESS TO UR ACCOUNT THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY WITHOUT NOTICE. Excellent customer service with high quality of hospitality. Very accommodating during with Covid challenges. Clean, big room with lots of lights and windows ( room number 50) , big enough to accommodate couple with 4 suitcases, the have elevators which is rare to find ;) Excellent and caring staff, breakfast with lots of choose and excellent Dutch cheese and bread etc … Strongly recommend to choose this hotel since it’s 20 min from Amsterdam with easy access to the train and airport. Also situated in city center, close to shops and restaurant .

The room we were given was one for people with a disability, which meant it was very spacious. The decor was nice, the beds comfortable, although a little soft. The bathroom was also spacious and had everything a disabled person would need. It didn't bother us we were staying in this room. We didn't have breakfast but had a coffee which was good. Because this room is on the ground floor just behind reception and next to the breakfast room we did experience noise. There is a 24-hour coffee and tea making facility in the breakfast room which is great. However, when we were staying, there were people in there even in the middle of the night, as we could hear the chairs being used (scraping sound which was very audible in our room). That got worse when breakfast service really started in the morning. It made sleeping a little challenging. We would stay here again, but would definitely ask for a room on a higher floor and further away from the breakfast room. Check in and out was quick and easy and staff were friendly.

Large parking lot with free parking; directly next to the train station. My room was spacious with 2 single beds. I only used one; presumably it's possible to put the beds together to get a king-/queen size. There's a Nespresso machine in the room - I sure do appreciate coffee in the morning. An electric kettle is available on request. Unfortunately the hallways have a strong smell of old cigar smoke. And there's no elevator. My room was at the backside of the hotel with a view of the cemetery next to the hotel. To me it meant a quiet night without the noise of cars or trains. Maybe less quiet if you're a clairvoyant. The personnel is friendly but seemed inexperienced. They sure did their best, but one doesn't serve a milk coffee if you asked for a Latte Macchiato. There's also a rather limited choice of snacks and drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) so we ended up taking a trip to the nearby town for food. Breakfast was OK - not great. Again, limited choice. Altogether a reasonable hotel if you appreciate a spacious and relatively modern room for one night. But find a restaurant in town if you want a decent meal.

The location in IJburg is not, of course, the city centre. With the train 26, the Central Station is well reachable in about 20 minutes. A supermarket is located between the end station (there is also a ticket machine) and the hotel. Availability with the PPNV is a train or car arrival that you can leave in the parking house (there are cheaper parking places than in the hotel itself). Breakfast is very good. We can also express wishes that are then freshly prepared (e.g. mirror, omelet). Heat drinks are available by self-service from the full-automat. There is also a delicious hot chocolate here. The room looks a little unfinished. Gray walls without color. There is no closet, but only a cord with clothing bar. A small treasury, a TV with, among others, German broadcasters (ARD, ZDF, RTL) there is also. The bathroom separates a milk glass slide door, but it leaves a gap open that should be taken into account when you do not pin the room alone. The bathroom is wet when you do it, because the shower is only half closed and there is no door. The hotel is recommended if you can make a little bit at the price, 200 euros per night would be too much.
