"An absolute gem of a place! The location is fantastic, a short 3-4 minute walk from Burriana Beach with its bars and restaurants. Our apartment was well-appointed and spacious, really clean and with good facilities. There is a supermarket (bit pricey but good choice) 3 mins walk away and a really nice bar halfway (we recommend El Fuego as a great spot for watching sports!). The garden and pool are perfect - tranquil, crystal-clear for swimming and a lovely place to unwind under the fixed cabana umbrellas. To get to the main part of Nerja with its bustlin streets, restaurants and the Balcon de Europe does involve a steep-ish initial walk for 2-3 mins but thereafter it's all on a level and within 12-15 mins youre in the heart of town. The main Nerja Bus station is a 15-20 min walk, again up an incline, but offers great options for excursions. We took a bus to beautiful Frigilia in the mountains and to the shopping centre and cinema at El Ingenio via Torres del Mar. Some things to be aware of: most Nerja nightlife is up in town. Burriana is lovely during the day but a bit quiet at night for teens. The apartments looking out towards the pool are quieter than the ones at the back, where you're next to a small roundabout (some noise from mopeds etc). The beach itself is a fine shingle rather than sand, but the water is lovely. Burriana is hugely popular so book a sunbed the afternoon before the day you want it! We visited as a family of 4 with teenage children and I would heartily recommend Almoraide as a great place for a summer holiday in Spain."

Spotlessly clean, with free WiFi, washing machine, and cooking facilities. Right next to a small beach. Thanks Eva for a fantastic first visit to Nerja."

"Location is fabulous! With Playa Burriana (steep walk downs and back) one side and Playa Carrabeillo to the other we were very happy. So many places to eat and drink and plenty of ships too! The local supermarket didn't feel over priced or aimed at tourists and the cafe's dotted about were great. The apartment itself is extremely dated. All furniture seems to be cast-offs, bottom draw missing in main room (only one bedside table). No full length mirror. Word of warning, the entry into the shower is rather small width way, and when using the toilet or shower keep windows shut otherwise you could end up with an audience, as it's over looked. Pool was OK, but only enough space for 3 loungers. Luckily it didn't seem anyone wanted to use it when we were, and vice versa. it's fine for a short trip. No welcome pack (not that it's expected but always nice to have some milk and coffee and a bottled water for arrival), Attention to detail could be better."

Hotel Villa Flamenca

"We have just returned after a week's stay at Hotel Villa Flamenca, booked through Jet 2. The hotel is situated in a quiet residential area of Nerja just 20 minutes walk from the town centre. We were upgraded to a pool view room at no additional charge which was brilliant. Our classic room and balcony was small but perfectly adequate for a week's stay. The hotel was an oasis of calm, just what we wanted, with couples young and old enjoying the tranquil surroundings. The hotel staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Though the breakfast could have been hotter, there was an excellent selection with live cooking on offer. The pool bar closed during our stay but the alternative snack bar offered a range of light bites and was usually busy during 'happy hour.' For those choosing to eat out we would recommend Som Som Asiaticas in the town centre for Thai dishes, with Pahuna Nepalese for Indian cuisine and also Baker's bar, these last two down the hill on Burriana Beach. Our first visit to Nerja, we were impressed and also enjoyed our half day in Frigliana. The sun shone for us all week which was an added bonus for November. We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and would definitely recommend Hotel Villa Flamenca. Many thanks. Dave and Liz"
