The private bath room included breakfast, which was delicious with many options, plus a small stove to grill seafood yourself. While the private bath isn’t completely secluded—people in a building across, though quite far away, can see in—the stunning view of Lake Biwa more than makes up for it. The large public bath is open nearly 24 hours, featuring a relaxing lounge area afterward, free ice cream, and complimentary coffee in the lobby during the day. Upon check-in, we received shopping discount coupons that could be used to purchase small towels, scented balms, and storage bags."

Το onsen ήταν καταπληκτικό με πολλές επιλογές όπως ένα δωμάτιο σάουνα, ένα εξωτερικό στυλ jacuzzi onsen και το κύριο εσωτερικό onsen. Το φαγητό που παρέχεται (πρωινό και δείπνο) ήταν ένα παραδοσιακό ιαπωνικό γεύμα με πολυκατοικίες. Πολύ συστημένο! The hotel has a classic Japanese ryokan atmosphere, and the area near Lake Biwa is very peaceful. Staff were polite and helpful, and the shuttle service was convenient. Breakfast was simple but acceptable. One suggestion is that it would be appreciated if room arrangements could better match the photos shown on the booking page, as this would help set clearer expectations. Overall, a calm stay for travelers seeking a traditional experience."

"Best: design, facilities, privacy Staying at Hotel Koo’s KOUJIYA was such a treat! The place is like a dream – elegant, cozy, and those designer furniture pieces are everything. The lighting? Super hygge, giving off the warmest vibes. This Machiya suite is a total surprise package. From the outside, it's low-key and so unassuming but inside, it's a luxury haven. The kitchen is a personal favorite, connected to the dining area where you can see the mini garden. Actually you can view the garden from the bedroom and bathroom too, thanks to some clever glass magic. Amazing design!! I think it’s perfect for couples/duo. It's not just a hotel; it feels like a real home, and the local vibe of the neighborhood is the cherry on top. Can't wait to be back and try out the other machiya suites."

"This is a B&B that provides Chinese services. It is located within walking distance of the JR station and the port, and is just across the street from the shopping street. We booked the entire 2nd floor, which is very large and has all the toiletries and kitchenware you need. We also happened to meet the Otsu Festival by coincidence. It was so lively and we were very lucky and happy."
