We had a wonderful family vacation stay at Hilton Cairns. The location is absolutely fantastic, right on the waterfront with beautiful views and very easy access to the Marine Esplanade, where you can enjoy a variety of water activities and explore the best of Cairns. The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and family-friendly activities. Our child had plenty of things to enjoy nearby, making it a great choice for families. The in-house restaurant was excellent, with a nice atmosphere and great food options. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall experience was relaxing and enjoyable. Hilton Cairns is a great place for a family holiday — combining comfort, convenience, and a perfect location. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to families visiting Cairns.

The hotel's location is excellent, with a wide variety of dining options right downstairs. Our family of three booked a suite, and they added a single bed in the living room, which was spacious and comfortable. The breakfast selection was also very rich and diverse, offering great value for money! A quick tip: there aren't as many hotels in Cairns as one might expect, and even during the off-season, this hotel's rooms can be scarce. It's best to book your entire stay at once, as trying to extend your reservation day-by-day might mean you won't find availability.

Upon returning to Cairns, I needed a hotel close to the airport for an early morning flight the next day. This place was only a few minutes' drive from the airport, with free parking available both in the hotel's own lot and along the surrounding streets, which were quite empty. The hotel is a bit old, but it's perfectly fine for a quick overnight stay. However, I wouldn't recommend it for a longer holiday.

I got a sunburn on the uninhabited island tour, and when I told the front desk I needed to cool down, they brought a lot of ice to my room, which was incredibly helpful. The room was also very spacious. However, there are no slippers, so I recommend bringing your own. The bathroom and other wet areas were also fine and comfortable.

I stayed at two hotels in Cairns, 3 nights at Hilton and 3 nights at Shangri-La. My conclusion: if I go back to Cairns, I won't stay at Hilton again, but I will choose Shangri-La. Regarding the facilities: both hotels were booked for deluxe twin rooms. Shangri-La was clean and tidy with newer facilities, clearly superior to Hilton. Hilton was noticeably old and dated, not even reaching the standard of a 3-star hotel in China. Regarding service: Shangri-La provided bottled drinking water daily. Hilton did not provide bottled water; guests had to use the glass bottles in their room to get water from the dispenser in the hallway. The dispenser on our floor was broken and unusable. Regarding breakfast: Shangri-La's breakfast was more varied and available until 10:30 AM, effectively serving as brunch. What's more, no staff came to rush guests to finish even at 10:30 AM. Hilton's breakfast was not as varied as Shangri-La's and ended at 9:30 AM. Around 9:15 AM, staff started clearing up and cleaning, removing empty plates from our table without asking and reminding us that breakfast would close at 9:30 AM.

Overall, this hostel deserves 4 out of 5 stars. The rooms were clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I especially liked the central location and the pleasant atmosphere. The common areas were also modern and comfortably designed. My only minor criticisms would be the noise at night and the somewhat small bathrooms in some rooms. Nevertheless, the stay was very enjoyable overall, and it offered good value for money.

This place is perfect for long-term stays or for those renting a car! ♥ I stayed in a room with a kitchen and washing machine because I wanted to cook with local ingredients in Cairns. There's a Coles (supermarket) nearby, so I had no trouble finding food and drinks. The glasses, cups, cutlery, pots, rice cooker, and various cooking utensils were all perfectly stocked. 🤗 Things I brought from Japan for the kitchen: ↓ Chopsticks, plastic spoons, forks Salt, pepper, herb salt Yakiniku sauce Dressing (small convenience store size) Wakame soup (instant) Wasabi Cooking oil Mentsuyu (noodle soup base) Dish soap About 20 small garbage bags for food waste About 20 plastic bags that can hold two 2-liter bottles Alcohol wet wipes (25 sheets) *Can be used for cleaning 🫩 Things I didn't particularly use: ↓ Plastic spoons and forks 🥲 Things I wish I had brought: ↓ Sponge Steel wool Instant miso soup (I had it ready but forgot to bring it 😣) 👙 Regarding the Pool 🌴 There are 3 pools, one of which is heated. Please bring towels from your room. Regarding Trash. There's a trash disposal area near the entrance. No sorting is required, so just put everything in. 🫙🥫🍎🐟️ 🚘️ Regarding Parking 🚙 The rule is to park wherever there's an empty spot. What if there's no space? (lol) It was crowded, but I managed to find a spot. 🧺 Regarding the Washing Machine 👕👖 I brought gel laundry detergent pods. I did laundry twice during my 5-night stay. There wasn't a dedicated place to hang clothes on hangers, but I managed to dry them somehow. There were some drying options, but not enough. I think there were about 12 hangers in the room. At check-in, there was a Japanese staff member at reception, which was a great help. 💆 Reception hours are Mon-Fri 7 AM - 7 PM. I forgot the weekend hours. 😓 *As mentioned above, early check-in is not possible, so for those arriving early in the morning, I recommend staying one night at a hotel that offers early check-in.

The location is super convenient, just a few minutes walk to the seaside promenade. Getting to the pier is also a breeze, about fifteen minutes, and you get to enjoy plenty of ocean views along the way. It's also very close to Cairns city center.

The unit is adequate for my family of six for a 3-night stay. Basic necessities are generally met, and the overall stay was acceptable. However, there were several maintenance and usability issues that affected comfort. Some air-conditioning remotes were faulty or missing batteries, requiring us to swap between rooms to find working ones. The telephone/RJ45 connection head was also broken and left dangling, with wiring not properly connected, which gave a poor impression of upkeep. In terms of sleeping comfort, the beds are quite soft and the pillows offer very little support. The positioning of the electrical wall outlets behind the bed also made it inconvenient, as we had to shift the bed forward to access the sockets. For kitchen use, it would be helpful to provide basic dishwashing supplies such as a small bottle of dishwashing liquid and a sponge, especially when only a few items are used in the dishwasher. On a positive note, the bathroom facilities are in good condition. Water pressure is strong and hot water is consistently available, which made showers comfortable. Overall, the stay was acceptable, but there is clear room for improvement in maintenance and basic guest amenities.

Many Japanese guests, and other international tourists as well. It was on sale, so two of us stayed in a triple room. Luggage storage before check-in and lockers are available. It cost around 600 yen. If your suitcase is too large, you can ask at the reception to store it in an unsupervised, open-access area. It's safer to bring a padlock for security, just in case. There's one washing machine and one dryer. Available until 9 PM. They are often in use, but it was helpful to have them. One single bed and one king-size (or similar)? bed. Spacious and comfortable. The air conditioning works well. The shower temperature is a bit tricky to adjust, but it works fine. Amenities: solid body soap and tube shampoo were provided. The walls seem thin, or the neighbors were very noisy; there was a lot of noise. I guess that's to be expected overseas. It was a good hotel to stay at, affordable and in a great location.
