"Excellent location and friendly hardworking staff. But this is one of the worst hotel I have stayed in. The room has the necedsary furniture but they are run.down. The owner apparently only cares about himself. For an example I have posted a photo of curtain with holes. The bed was firm but ok. The bathroom was actually not bad. Only strange thing was that there was no toilet roll holder. There never was one as there are no holes on the wall either. Housekeeping worked hard but with the state of the room, there's only so much they can do. The breakfast was strange. If something ran out they are instructed not to refill I guess. Even the coffee machine just gives you a slightly coloured water. Someone complained about bed bugs in some review, but we had no such problem. With an excellent location, I regret to say that the hotel is in a pathetic state. As the owner only likes to count money. So sad."

"Extremely disappointed 😞. The family room I saw in the pictures wasn't the one I stayed in, and there were no photos of my actual room type available on Trip.com. The room I got didn't match the price I paid. I booked specifically for the room design, so I was really upset when I arrived. When I asked at the front desk, they told me, 'Because you didn't request it? So it's just a standard room?' I had no idea there were other room types. I came during a public holiday (and my price was more than double the usual rate), but I didn't get the room I wanted. I really can't accept this! The most unreasonable thing, in my opinion, was the security deposit. I'm okay with paying a deposit, but why wasn't it refunded immediately? Who traveling for a vacation in Taiwan wants to wait over two weeks for a refund? I've already waited fourteen days, and they're saying it's Trip.com's problem and not theirs??? The staff just shifted all the blame and didn't help resolve the issue at all! It's already 2/28 to 3/14 and I still haven't received my money? What happened to the promised 7 to 14 days? And I can't find anyone who can help resolve this problem! I hope the hotel can help deal with this instead of just saying it's not their problem. The hotel partners with Trip.com; they help you get guests, so why are you so indifferent to your customers' issues??? Who would dare to book with you again after this??? (RM591.92) Is the deposit for one night the same as the holiday room price??? Maybe you didn't collect it directly, but since you let Trip.com collect it, you should be responsible for helping to inquire and assist customers in getting their money back. Just because it's not 'your' money, you don't care? Is this a customer service issue? Five hundred TWD 4,600?? Is that a service fee? Is this a joke? No problem resolution? The breakfast was indeed good! I'll give them that. But who knows how much Oden 🍢 there was? They advertised it as a late-night snack, but it was all gone by 9 PM? When I asked, they just said, 'It's gone, it's gone?' In that case, why even offer it?"

"I love the whole vibe of the hotel where it give off this rustic industrial look but the interior of the room is really nice. Front desk was super accommodating when we wanted to upgrade our room but the initial upgraded room was not to our liking and they kindly suggested another room for us to have a look first before we decide on it. we were able to check in an hour earlier as well and was able to keep our luggage at the front desk after check out and return back later to collect. overall an amazing experience with SOF hotel and would definitely come back to stay when im in taichung again"

"Very clean and nice hotel everything is very organised , good location and friendly frontdesk .ALL the staff are simply exceptional, especially the frontdesk- Lia Wu , Emily Chen and Wendy Liu. , they showed their professionalism by introducing this new hotel and the surroundings to us . They are so helpful to assist us with our luggages and personally deliver to our room. Every interaction with them felt warm and welcoming . The breakfast is good with many choices , restaurant manager and staff are friendly too. Overall the staff’s commitment to guest satisfaction made a truly memorable stay."

"The room itself was pretty good overall, clean and tidy, and the location was very convenient. I'd consider staying here again in the future. However, a word of caution for those booking through Ctrip: make sure to double-check the cancellation policy! It can be a real hassle to negotiate a cancellation if it's not clearly stated. Basically, this hotel wasn't willing to offer a free cancellation in my experience, unlike another hotel that was more accommodating. This one isn't very flexible, so it's something to be aware of."

"The staff here truly deserve full marks for their excellent service. However, the facilities are a different story, and I hope they can be improved. Otherwise, it would be a shame to waste such wonderful service. This will still be my top choice for accommodation in the future."

"It is a very nice hotel with great location. The hotel is located at around 10mins on taxi from the train station (25min walk). There is a tiny night market and a cinema nearby. The classic room has a very strange shape and is very small, so I won’t recommend for anyone. The service was great where the staff are polite and helpful. The hotel also offers bike lending service for free for up to 3hrs. This is very helpful for me exploring the city in a short period of time. One big issue I found is the sound proof is very poor. I was able to hear noise very clearly from people walking /talking outside my room."

"What I liked: the room looks exactly like the picture, friendly staff, AC, hot water shower with good pressure, mini fridge, great Internet, comfy bed, water dispenser, free coffee/tea/hot chocolate dispenser, good soundproofing, great location, quiet. What I didn't like: dirty walls with stains, mold in the bathroom, musty smell in the room. Also, the carpet in the hallways is in serious need of vacuuming."

"Booked a quad room, and the size was pretty good. The beds were huge, and the bathroom was spacious. Breakfast was just okay, not much variety. You can ask the front desk for bottled water. The location is also quite good. Overall, it's a nice place, and the facilities are well-maintained."
