"Via Inn Okayama was our 6th hotel on this journey, and its location honestly couldn’t have been better. Being directly connected to Okayama Station made everything very convenient — from getting around to grabbing daily necessities. There were even some supermarkets inside the station, which were super handy. The lobby was on the 5th floor and already set the mood, with an amazing view overlooking the station and the city. Our room was simple and comfortable, featuring a small double bed, a desk by the window, a chair, an air purifier, and a fairly new TV with YouTube and Netflix access — perfect for relaxing after a long day. Space was a little tight when we opened our luggage, but it wasn’t a big issue. Even though the bathroom wasn’t very spacious, it still provided enough room to sit comfortably on the toilet, which we appreciated. The real highlight was the view — an unblocked cityscape right from the room that made both mornings and nights extra special. Convenient, comfortable, and memorable — Via Inn Okayama was a great stay right in the heart of the city."

"Very nice hotel with a bath and sauna. A highlight after a long exhausting day! They provide a japanese style dinner, which is sadly not vegetarian and a breakfast buffet, which isn‘t bad. The room had a smoking smell and the bed and pillows are very hard, which we found pretty uncomfortable though."

"This hotel is genuinely great. There's a dedicated passage directly from the JR station to the hotel, so you don't even need an umbrella if it's raining. Dining is incredibly convenient too; there are all sorts of restaurants in the commercial area right downstairs, from ramen to coffee. Everything is perfect!"

"The staff I came came across were all very polite and had welcoming smiles, no matter at the reception desk or the restaurant on 20/F. I enjoyed my stay here, but it felt comparable to the 3 star hotels, just slightly better especially thanks to the fabulous breakfast and location of breakfast…If hotels have half stars, i would think it’s’more of a 3.5 star hotel instead of a 4. I have a few suggestions which the hotel can look into to improve in the future. 3 Things to improve on: 1) I picked this hotel because I read other reviews saying the hotel is connected to a bridge from the Okayama station. This is true but unfortunately there were no signs in the station to guide travellers unlike another hotel like Granvia. Google suggested that I look for the west exit which I did, but I ended up being at the ground level hence had to bring big suitcase all the stairs…then I spotted the bridge and ANA crowne plaza from the street 2) cleanliness can be improved. There’s a UCC drip coffee machine in the room. I don’t drink coffee, and the box for the drip coffee selection was refilled. However I spotted a used capsule on the floor near the wall. The bin was not blocking the view, so the cleaners could’ve easily spotted the rubbish if they had been a little more careful and looked under the table when they have to clear out the rubbish bin anyway. 3) I sent a message to the hotel via TRIP.com. The message wasn’t replied promptly, as in within a few hours. Ultimately it didn’t matter anymore, I arrived at the hotel before somebody managed to reply me. Maybe it’s the system that’s problematic which may have caused a lag? Or staff only look at mails/messages when not too busy at the front desk?"

"Compared to Tokyo accommodations, this hotel with breakfast is truly excellent value for money. It's very close to Okayama Station, and Canal Park is right next to the hotel. We originally planned for two nights but extended our stay by an extra day. The cherry blossoms along the canal were in full bloom, and we took beautiful photos for two days straight. We bought a bus + cruise day pass at Okayama Station to explore Shodoshima Island and take pictures."

"This hotel was a very positive surprise while I was a bit skeptical as technically it’s also a love hotel, but it doesn’t even feel that way which was good. Super clean, lots of amenities and small details in the room to make the stay more comfortable, even a free hair clip and a massive TV. Location was right next to the tram stop, one evening we also walked to the main station which took maybe 20-25 min. The breakfast choices were plenty, the french toast was super tasty! Thank you to the attentive and kind staff!"

"location is close to Okayama station. hotel uses self check-in and even though the machine completed my check-in and issued me a keycard before 3pm, the staff rushed over and told me that i can only use the room from 3pm ao i had to go out and come back later. quite an unhospitable move i must say…"

"The main draw for me was the rooftop onsen; it’s not fancy but it is classic, which is good enough for me. A simple sauna, outdoor onsen, indoor one, cold plunge bath and a shower area. The room itself was compact but efficient and check in/out process was fairly simple. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the Okayama Shinkansen station so it was quite convenient to travel to other sites like Kurashiki Bikan"

"Location: It's about an 8-10 minute walk from Okayama Station. Taking the underground passage towards Takashimaya is more convenient as there's a direct elevator. If you walk along the food street, it might be a bit challenging with heavy luggage. There's a streetcar stop nearby; it's two stops to Okayama Castle, saving you about 10 minutes compared to walking the full 20 minutes. Service: Pretty good, luggage storage was fine. Facilities: The room was spacious, and the decor was distinctive. There were unique ornaments at each elevator entrance."

"This was my first time in Okayama, and I chose this hotel. They offer free breakfast and dinner. The breakfast is a buffet with both Western and Japanese options, so you can choose what you like. For dinner, there are two choices: a rotating daily set meal or a fixed curry rice dish. The public bath is a bit small, but it's fine for about four or five people. The hotel is about an eight-minute walk from Okayama Station. There's a Don Quijote along the way, and plenty of restaurants and izakayas nearby, so there are lots of dining options. Convenience stores are also very close. The room I stayed in this time was quite spacious, even with my luggage open, there was still plenty of room. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Okayama. The only thing to be aware of is that there are about five or six steps right after you enter, which can be a bit challenging if you have heavy luggage. Otherwise, everything else was excellent."
