Booking was fine, arrival and check in was great. Parking was a bit challenging (parking in an underground public car park nearby cost EUR 15 overnight) On the surface the hotel looks nice, lobby, outside hotel, bar etc. Be careful unpacking your car outside the hotel as it is quite a busy road. Lifts are the old style very small and we needed to do two runs. Room was a bit dated but we had a comfortable nights sleep. Bathroom was huge with nice towels and great shower pressure. We would have given a 4 out of 5 score but there was no internet on the night we stayed. Bar service where I ended up getting internet service was excellent. Did not experience the breakfast as we had a long drive the following day.

The hotel is very centrally located, 10 mins to the train station and 10 mins to the port, on foot. The shopping street is just around the corner. The reception by the staff was friendly and helpful. They provided us with all the information about their house and La Spezia. The room was already ready to move into. That is positive. It is recommended to book a parking space. This costs 12 euros per night. There is a hotel-owned garage, which is not far away. You can also park in front of the hotel, free of charge if there is space. The room is functionally furnished and has everything you need. The room size was ok for us. The bathroom is a bit small but ok. The room is clean. The breakfast was very good for this class of hotel. Everything you could wish for was available. Enough space, fresh products etc. Even freshly squeezed orange juice. We can recommend the CDH Hotel La Spezia for 1 to 3 nights.
