We were lucky enough to be able to go fishing on a traditional boat with Benito and Jhony. Julia shared with us traditional clothing and culinary practices from the Uros Islands. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious. The views from our room were amazing since we were right on the lake. This is a comfortable and pleasant place. Don't expect luxury as it is on a floating lake. Communication with his eldest son via WhatsApp made it easier to access the shelter from the port. If you want a unique experience with a warm and lovely family, this is the place to stay."

"The night staying with Jesus and Mari was more than I expected. The room and the bathroom are literally brand new, very clean, comfortable and relaxing. I slept well and warm at night. They're expanding their island, so it makes my stay more unique by witnessing the process. A real experience! I spent a lot of time just taking a sunbath, naps, and reading the book which they provided in the room - it was about Taquile island, very interesting and informative! Jesus also took me on a Uros tour. We even went collecting the **** Totora! He shared a lot of knowledge about their culture and lifestyle. Besides Uros, he also knows a lot about Taquile. Mari instead showed me her beautiful artwork, which we're able to bring back if we want 🧡 And the lunch she cooked, uuuuf, delicious and abundant! With a lot of veggies and fresh trucha. I couldn't even finish it. And I highly recommend the location, it's on the edge of the Uros community, so tourists don't see us, and we're not bothered. I enjoyed the whole view of the lake and the night scene of Puno by myself. Bring your camera if you love photography. The sunset and the Milky way are charming. Btw, Jesus will take us from the port Kalapajra to the island. From the center, the red minibus only costs 1 sole. He replied WhatsApp quite promptly. The check-in/checkout was also flexible. Really appreciate it. I would love to stay 2-3 more days on Kontiki if the time allows! Felt it's much worth than just a day tour."

"We stayed here for a couple of nights on our way to Cusco to acclimatise a bit. We were greeted with lovely service from all staff and our room was absolutely perfect. Room was extremely comfortable and bed was very clean. The Wi-Fi was good and it was so nice to come back in from the cold and always be able to have a hot shower (not like some other hotels we’ve stayed at). There was also coca tea always available in reception. We also had dinner at the restaurant which was very nice but there was quite a long wait time (45-60 mins and we were the only table there), food was worth the wait though!"

Incredibly comfortable beds and large rooms. Breakfast was included which helped us start our day just right. We were also able to leave our luggage for over 24 hours as we set off on our tour for free which was great. Thanks for a lovely stay."

"pretty bad hotel! i was surprised with delta stay vacation reviews saying it is wonderful. the lady at the front desk is very nice though. and the hotel had packages for tours. but the other hotels had their own tour packages too. -BLOOD stain on bed sheet -dead bug on curtains -room is too tight. i have no where to walk without tripping with our luggages -hallway is too tight -room is cold -we were not comfortable -i finally found other reviews. one said he even went inside the room and there was no bed! i can believe it! we went searching for other hotels close by and closer to the plaza. all were much nicer than kaaro hotel. these hotels even let us go inside and look at their rooms: Hotel Hacienda plaza de armas is nice Casona Plaza Centro is nice Tierra Viva Puno is also nice"

"Hotel Lago Titicaca needs some serious renovations to claim they are a 5 star hotel. Service at the front desk was not too friendly and the restaurant seemed to follow behind which might require looking at the entire team. They have a property that is capable of being truly remarkable but ownership and management just don’t know how to make that happen. Very sad."
