The hotel is close to the sea, there are shops with normal prices for food, there are cafes and restaurants nearby, the staff are friendly and helpful

This hotel and my room were in a fabulous location! The hotel is directly across from the beach and my room directly overlooked the beach. Getting across the street is no problem. The crosswalk with lights is only a few feet away from the hotel. My stay included breakfast in the Revolving Restaurant. The food was very good and the panoramic 360 view while you ate was fantastic. Great for taking pictures. I also had room service for dinner. The fish and chips were yummy! The staff were very friendly and my stay was around excellent. My only disappointment was seeing the bathtub and shower were not separate, but it wasn't an issue. I will be back again! 😘😘😘

Good location from Metro. Make sure to confirm with hotel about a non-smoking room. There are limited non-smoking rooms.

Very well maintained. Close to the beach (5 minutes walk) The hotel stuff we’re very friendly and you honestly get what you paid for.

Old shabby hotel catering to visiting local tourists, mainly. If you're a foreigner, the drivers of the cabs waiting outside the Hotel will rip you off 20-30 yuan unless you pay attention to the meter and immediately yell at them in case of overcharge. (Almost) noone at the check-in desk speaks English unless you chance on a manager.
There're two teenage consierge boys at the main entrance, who boss the incoming patrons around and tell them how to live. The restaurant prices are on a par with those at Shangri-La hotel, but with far fewer choices and lower in cooking quality.
The only BIG advantage if you're a swimmer like myself: a former German "Kaiser" swimming beach is right accross the road. It's now callled "Bathing Beach 1." Awesome for doing non-stop laps for an hour. And even then: you can easily get to the beach by metro from any other Qingdao hotel. Just get off at Huiquan Square (Line 3) and come out through Exit C.
