Lone Hotel by Maistra Collection ★★★★★

📍 Ul. Luje Adamovića 31, Rovinj

"Fantastic! Booking this hotel was a bit of a happy accident. Last year, I only stayed two nights in Dubrovnik, Croatia, in an old town guesthouse with steep stairs and a mediocre room. I saw a luxurious hotel by the bay and thought I should come back, revisit my favorite restaurant right in the middle of the bay, and stay at that hotel. This time, I went straight to Dubrovnik from Zagreb and reported to the hotel lobby, only to be told my reservation wasn't for *this* hotel, but another one behind the ridge. However, they were part of the same group, and they immediately whisked us away in an electric cart. At that moment, my heart sank with immense disappointment. But once we arrived, I realized what a blessing in disguise it was! The hotel's design is incredibly tasteful, with generous spaces and spacious, comfortable rooms. Unexpectedly, while I didn't get the panoramic sunset view of Dubrovnik's old town I had originally envisioned, I was greeted by the magnificent elegance of the Rixos Dubrovnik, facing a lush pine forest on a gentle, winding slope. The hotel's pool absolutely deserves praise; a series of curved pools connected together, with ancient pine trees on the hillside in the background, creating a regal and exquisite ambiance. What's even more amazing is that the pool actually uses seawater! I've been to dozens of countries in Europe and America and have never encountered that before! The smooth, wave-free flow of the seawater in the pool was incredibly comfortable. The pool's sloped entry was also ergonomically designed, making it very easy to get in and out. The private beach area just tens of meters away was also impeccable. Best of all, getting to Dubrovnik's old town via the coastal path was very convenient, completely dispelling my worries about the distance. Breakfast was incredibly generous and definitely worth praising. The front desk staff were excellent, patiently answering our questions and helping us plan our next steps. I managed to get a promotional discount, paying around 2400 RMB for two nights, which I felt was excellent value for money! I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to friends so they can enjoy the royal grandeur of the pool, set against a lush pine forest on a soothing hillside. It offers a rare and distinguished vacation experience! I might even come back to stay a few more days next time I'm in Europe!"

"Third visit & still stunned by the location & Old town but extremely disappointed with all elements of dining the staff were generally unhappy breakfast ok but repetitive dinner tasteless and boring literally no flavour food cleared away in areas 1.5 hours before restaurant closed?? & we wouldn’t return for these reasons which is a shame although used spa facilities for 1st time due to change in weather & they were fab. Everything about dining needs to be reconsidered as everyone we spoke to was disappointed & many were returning guests"

"This hotel is the most satisfying hotel of my trip, no doubt about it. Before the trip, I had communicated with Ctrip and even the hotel directly by phone. The 3 sea view rooms are king-size rooms and the 1 standard room is a twin room. Due to various reasons, the hotel prepared and gave Hygiene: The hygiene is very satisfactory, spotless, and the small skylight is unique. Environment: As soon as you walk out of the stairs, you will see the charming coast, very close to the sea. Service: The hotel service staff enthusiastically introduced the local characteristics, recommended restaurants, and even directly helped us book restaurants in the name of the hotel. (It’s not wrong to listen to them in the restaurant, it’s very good)"

"We loved the staff and location of Villa Tuttorotto. The included breakfast on the sea view terrace was amazing as was the full breakfast! The location was ideal in this hilly old town....close to everything but tucked away so it was quiet! We had a huge room (#30) on the 3rd floor and even larger bathroom. Loved the views out our window too. The bed was quite firm but they've all been that way on this trip. Luckily we only had small amounts of rain so that didn't impact our ability to explore. Being picked up and dropped off by the hotel was an unexpected welcome surprise!"

"Very nice hotel with exclusive amenities such as a very large spa with interior pool. Very well located near Rovinj city center, providing tons of activities or excursion opportunities to guests. Very nice service (to the notable exception of the Japanese restaurant which was not really worth the price and the food). Think about checking the A/C in your room when arriving which can be loud or with a dusty filter. Ask the reception in any case, they are very professional and helpful."

"We visited the hotel last week and while a lovely location, I don't think we will go back: 1. My daughter got an ear infection from the pool and had to go to the doctors. 2. The buffet was not great - after one meal my son vomited. The food was often cold and not great quality. There is a second dining room but they clear everything away before the end of service. 3. The staff are rude. We witnessed a fight between staff in the dining room. 4. The fire alarm kept going off. Twice during the middle of the night. We went down to reception at 2am where people were evacuating too - and no staff in sight. And no apology or explanation. 5. They over charged us at the bar for sandwiches and won't return our money. We have been home for 3 days and keep making excuses why they can't issue a refund (it's with a manager; it will be there tomorrow; it's the weekend...). All of the above are reasons we won't go back - which is a shame because Rovinj is beautiful. This was far below the standard we had experienced at the hotel Eden (which is meant to be a lower quality hotel)."

"very good! In the old town, you can choose nearby public parking lots (for a fee) or hotel private parking lots (for a fee). The hotel will have a battery car to pick you up and carry your luggage to the room. This is the best way to allow self-driving friends to check in very conveniently. The service was very good and the hotel was very nice. The staff are very nice! Breakfast was also very good! !"
