Meta Tree Hotel Shanghai People's Square

Nice place in huangpu district, but it's far away from the Metro station.

!!!!READ FIRST BEFORE BOOK!!!! Room type: Family (3 single beds) 1. Hotel is old - feels like haunting hotel. If you want some place to stay, so this hotel might be your choice 2. Poor Hygiene! - Very disappointed, the room hygiene is normal, even myself can clean better than this. 3. Dirty - The hotel corridor is very old, dirty, and haunted. It looks like never been cleaning the mattress for decades 4. Lots of stains - Especially in washroom. We can see that the dark spots are everywhere Advantage 1. Staff can understand English and the hotel accept foreigners

Excellent service, clean bathroom, and nice bed. People square, xintiandi, and west nanjing road are within walking distance. Definitely will stay there again.

Very Nice Hotel, Neat and Clean, near Subway Station, Many Many Shopping Malls. Most recommend

This is a medium quality hotel. Don't expect too much. But it was very clean and the staff helpful. The windowless room was actually great for sleeping. Very dark and quiet. The lobby is very nice. Beds are Chinese = hard. Location is great, metro line 2 is only a short walk away.

Lower floor rooms better than 4th floor ( dated, doesn’t feel clean) Staff are friendly and helpful. I forgot and left 450RMB on the bed in the morning and headed out for the day, it stills there when come back in the evening.

The location of the hotel is great! Very close to three nice museums (Shanghai museum, History museum and Urban planning museum) and to Nanjing shopping street. The Bund is also in a walkable distance. There are 2 subway stations nearby with about 6 lines in total. The architecture if the neighborhood is quite unique, with many historic buildings which are integrated in the city and are still used as houses/shops, etc. The service was also very good, personnel is friend and helpful, ready to speak English.

The Hotel name booked was Mercure People's Square. But actually it's not Mercure. It took me 2 hours to find as no such name hotel exists. It's name is Meta Tree Hotel and Apartment. Trip.com is misguiding people by selling it in the name of Meecure

Quite dirty and smells like cigarette in the hallway and the room…. But the location is perfect and it does the job for 1-2 nights if you on a budget, still better than a hostel... Staff is quite nice :)
