Absolutely lovely hotel by Son Vida golf course. We used a family room with twin beds and a sofa bed -- there was plenty of space for all three of us (couple and a child). The room was clean and equipped with everything you'd normally find in a proper 5* hotel. The mattresses are a bit on the firm side and the pillows very very soft, but for a few days one could adjust to them. The outdoor pool area is stunning and very well maintained. There's always a lifeguard on site, sometimes even two, supervising both the outdoor and the indoor pools. The sauna is great and very hot. I also really enjoyed the breakfast here -- very good quality food, good diversity .. particularly the fruits, the breads. They have a juicing machine and you can make your own fruits/veggie juice in the morning. The staff, all around, are great -- polite and helpful (not to forget multilingual). Thank you all for a beautiful stay! We look forward to returning soon!

It’s the little things that make the difference.the brilliant. Staff, the way they remember you prefer the shady area by the pool, gorgeous female staff who glide like models, with a smile that could not be improved by an Hungarian dentist, staff who are there if you need a drink, but don’t press you to buy one Staff who clean your room whilst you have breakfast, and most important at my age, lights that enable you to read in the loo. Talking of which the bedside lights are great and all can be extinguished with one button so you don’t spend time before bed switching hundreds of knobs on and off. A bath easy to climb in and out of, and taps that do not require a science degree. A tv with the main UK stations ie not just the usual interminable, repetitive sky news. Not just a coffee machine in the room, but a good old kettle with packets of English Breakfast nectar. ( though maybe a more varied variety of cheese..at breakfast what about some blue ?…and more robust granola ? Oh and this morning they ran out of all bran, but I sufficed with prunes) Nowadays if you don’t want the formal evening dining menu, they welcome you on terrace…the fabulous “balcony of balconies” as it is known with a sweeping view of Palma and the ocean. The best choice would be the Tuna Taitiki..beautifully presented, like sliced Toblerone, only 17 euros, or a Caesar salad or beef burgers, for people with my simple tastes. Drinks a bit steep though, 1 2 euros for a Virgin Mary, not much more if you. Risk losing your virginity. Plenty to watch, by the way..two or three weddings whilst we were there and we enjoyed the music and people watch experience, But nicest of all was a great party on the terrace which the hotel gave for the younger hotel staff…presumably thanks for the seasons efforts but equal in drinks and food to that given to the guests. That being the case, although there with family (19 of us) for my 90 th birthday, would gladly take on a post retirement job there if that’s how they look after their staff ! One final small, t tough not the hotels fault..Russians who talk loudly and incessantly on their phone, and one in particular with funny white things hanging out of his ears, who shouted at someone , no doubt tending his shep and oligarchical bits and bobs . I waited till he shut up, and then loudly asked the lovely waitress if they ha d any Ukrainian wine ?

HM Balanguera is a good hotel. It's located in a relatively calm street, with no much traffic. It's not in the very center of the city of Palma, but nevertheless the distance between the two points concerned isn't too long, and going on foot from one to the other turns up a nice walk. The hotel is very well decorated, particularly the lobby. It's very cosy thanks to being decorated with much taste. The breakfast room is somewhat special, There is a big table in the middle, at which all the guests having breakfast sit down and talk between themselves should the occasion arise. It's a nice way to associate with other people. The weak point as regards this room is that it's close to the kitchen, both rooms communicating with each other through a door. Most of time the door is open so that one can hear the yelling of the women working at the hotel. I used to close the door but it was again opened and thus we had to bear the said disturbance again. Another nuisance is the awful music played at breakfast time. Once I asked the receptionist kindly to reduce its volume. He was more than kind to stop the music completely, for which I was very grateful to him. The breakfast, by the way, is very good and abundant. Everything is of an excellent quality except the orange juice, which tastes too bad as to doubt on its artificial nature. The bedroom is quite peaceful and comfortable. I had a good stay at the hotel thanks to that. I hardly heard any noise while in the room. The bed is very comfy, it having a mattress with the right toughness for ensuring a good rest. And in the room there is everything needed for satisfying the necessities of the guests. I asked for a kettle and they kindly provided me with one. The staff members are all very kind and helpful. They do at every moment whatever possible to ensure that the guests feel as well as possible during their stay at the hotel. The hotel concerned is therefore a good place to stay in Palma de Mallorca, and one I would absolutely recommend to everyone wishing to have a pleasant and relaxing stay on the island.

We were advised from travel agency that this was a nice 5* hotel with a good beach nearby. I mean, this hotel is not bad, and the staff was very nice and helpful, we travelled with 2 small kids and the staff made us fell very welcomed. I know the surrounding area is not hotel's fault, but its definitely more for the teens or younsters who party hard every night. Everywhere is graffiti, theres no nice souvenir shop- only the cheap bs that people buy when drunk but back to the review. The elevator didnt work the whole 7 days and when we asked why they dont call the service to fix it, we were told they call it but no one came. Peefect. So imagine waiting 5-10mins to go down with the one elevator that worked for 8 floors plus -1 floor. We had to use stairs to go down with two pushchairs in our hands. When it comes to food, everyday was a different theme which was nice, the food was good but all the cakes were from frozen semi-finished products and not hotel made, which is a big minus for me as a baker. You have to pay for your drinks when having dinner, even water. I dont think this hotel looks like 5*, especially the vending machines made it look super cheap and when i asked for the luggage weight, you have to pay 1€ for each weighting which is super ridiculous. The room service didnt do much of cleaning, where there was a bit of a sand on the floor, it was there for our whole stay. They only changed the towels, made up the sheets and thats it, didnt even change the sheets. The room was lacking a lot of stuff for 5* hotel, like weight, wardrobe for the clothes, some essentials for hygiene, a little sewing kit and so on. We will not return to this hotel and you better find somewhere else without the screaming drunk german teens and graffiti all around. At last, i have to thank again to the staff, they made our stay much better.

Отличный отель, уверен, что в качестве он держит отрыв не только от спа-отелей Майорки, но и всего побережья Испании. Высокий уровень сервиса, учтивости персонала, вкусная и качественная еда. Ухоженная территория, бассейны, фитнес, тропинки, можно отлично отдохнуть. Отель не очень детский, но детская комната есть и дочка ходила туда с удовольствием, спасибо Софии. Номера большие, у нас была терраса с лежаками, качественная косметика. Единственный минус (для меня) - это очень маленькая душевая кабина. В целом, отель очень понравился, как и Майорка.

Very good hotel with delicious buffets. Had half board and the food was very tasty. The hotel also has a nice small pool area. It's also not far to the beach and Bierkönig. So the location is great

Fab hotel for a quiet last minute break. Pool area was brilliant, really comfy sun beds and brilliant cocktails served from the pool bar. We were always able to find a sun bed. The staff were all brilliant, food and drink all seemed reasonable for the local prices. We were in one of the older rooms so it didn’t have the nice blue/ white colour theme shown in the hotel photos, but beds were comfy and there were double balcony doors so there was no issues with noise from the street. It was great to have a fridge in the room. Lovely beach less than 10 mins walk, and easy to jump on the bus to Palma from right outside the hotel (€2 each way). You can also cycle which is lovely too. Breakfast was excellent, loads of choice. dinner also good, each night had a different theme- some nights were better than others! There was no entertainment in the evenings but bar open until 12. We stayed Monday- Friday and the hotel was busy but pretty chilled, I think it’s more of a party hotel over the weekends.

4 star rating overall from me. There are imperfections, but I wouldn't read too much in to some of the recent very negative reviews. Located at the far end of Magaluf, towards Cala Vinyes, but within 10 minutes or so walk of the ”bright lights” of the ***** if wanted. I caught public bus A11 from the airport which takes around 40 minutes and drops less than a 10 minute walk away - all for the princely sum of 6.75 euros (that becomes cheaper if you tap on and off using a contactless card - but mine wouldn't work). A taxi is c. 50 euros. The beach is only a couple of minutes walk away out of the front door, albeit the slope / steps are quite steep and, not untypically for Spain, it appears the last couple of steps were never properly finished so have to be exited sidewards. We were a group of middle aged lads, occupying three rooms, one in block 2 (above reception) and two in block 1. The rooms varied but were all clean and tidy, TVs had a choice of UK channels, and (large refillable type) shampoo and shower gel were provided. My mini fridge was fully stocked (water, beer and soft drinks), but the other two rooms weren't (maybe because I'm a Hyatt club member and booked directly?). My safety deposit box needed a new battery that I had to follow up on day 2 for it to be fixed (they wanted me to be present to fix it). This hotel, that I suspect was born from amalgamation of 2 or maybe even 3 hotels, tries to be all things to all people - with clients ranging from young families with children, through couples, groups and the retired. It is large, with multiple pools, and a choice of food and drink venues were available (noting recent reviews about a slow start to the season, low occupancy and limited choice etc). Late afternoon check in was smooth and efficient for me, but I appreciate if bus loads arrive at the same time it could be lengthy. We were all inclusive and food and drink was generally good, albeit as others have noted, you need to keep an eye on things being fully cooked - we had to waste some under cooked chicken. Labelling was also an issue with some missing and others confused - baked beans labelled as ”small black pudding” being an example. See sample menus from Tapas and Burger ”Market Street” venues. We were able to use these ”specialities” at leisure, but I suspect they might be limited or need to be pre-booked in high season. There are some anomalies about what drinks are included - some cocktails are and others aren't. For example, Mojito is extra? The entertainment during our stay was mixed. The (newly arrived) team work hard, but things weren't perfect - the promised music quiz on our last night wasn't delivered for example. That said, the live singers weren't bad. We had a Beatles tribute band, and 90s retro live singers. The pools aren't heated, but were fine once you got in - the weather being mid 20's and sunny when I was there (9th to 13th May). My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights. Cannot fault the place at all. Everything was clean, the staff were amazing and the breakfast was to die for. We had an issue late at night with a window in the room, we were moved rooms with an offer of leaving our stuff in the original room to collect the next day, we were then given a fruit plate and a bottle of fizz to apologise, then a call from the manager. We were fine with it all but this went over and above what we expected. The pool area was very clean. Our beds were so comfortable and pillows were top class. Bathroom was lovely too with a great shower. 10/10 I would definitely stay again but be aware the hill up to the front door isn’t for the frail and I pity anyone who has to push a wheelchair up. The beach is within walking distance but they put on a free shuttle once a day. Palma is a €2 bus ride away on the No.4 from the Main Street but again they offer a free shuttle into Palma, we thought it best to get our bearings on a bus so we knew how to get back. Nice restaurants within a 10 min walk.
