"This stay was truly satisfying!
First and foremost, the room was spotlessly clean and tidy, leaving us feeling incredibly comfortable. The bedding was fresh, and the facilities were well-maintained, making it a truly reassuring experience.
The host couple was incredibly warm and friendly. From check-in to check-out, I felt genuinely cared for and attentive throughout the entire experience, making communication smooth and enjoyable.
Most commendable was their thoughtful service: not only did they proactively provide pick-up and drop-off from the high-speed rail station (which was spot-on, saving us the hassle of lugging our luggage around and trying to find a car), they also enthusiastically and responsibly arranged round-trip transportation to scenic spots. Their meticulous itinerary planning made our trip a breeze.
The surroundings are beautiful and convenient. Local restaurants are just a short walk away, ensuring dining options are a breeze. From the ground up to the amenities, this place has been exceptionally well-designed. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking comfort, convenience, and a personal touch. It's an absolute steal!"

The Tianyuan Homestay (Zhaoxing Dong Village Scenic Area) is a great choice for guests looking for accommodation in Liping, having been recently renovated in 2024. The hotel is conveniently located a short 8km drive from Congjiang Railway Station. There is no shortage of things to see in the area, with the Zhaoxing Dong Village - Viewing Platform, Dong Village Drum Tower and Tang'an Roaming Trail all nearby. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. According to our guests, this hotel provides a very high level of service. For guests traveling with families, this hotel is consistently one of the most popular choices.
"We had a wonderful stay at this charming guesthouse. Mr. Lu, the owner, is incredibly kind and welcoming. He truly goes above and beyond for his guests. He even arranged a driver for us to visit nearby villages and personally accompanied us during the visits, which made the experience even more special and authentic. He also picked us up from the train station and dropped us off there, which was very much appreciated.
His wife is also very warm and friendly, and together they create a lovely, home like atmosphere. The breakfasts were delicious, and the location of the hotel is excellent, making it easy to explore the surrounding area.
The only small downside was that we happened to visit during a period of construction, so our room had a view of the works. However, this was just bad timing and did not take away from our overall experience.
As a memorable highlight, Lu played and sang a traditional Dong song for us, which was absolutely magical and something we will never forget.
We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a genuine and heartfelt stay."

"The owner had to help me find the hotel but he was very kind, location is amazing but of course because it is inside the main scenic area at night there was a lot of noise, I had a room under the roof so could hear many animals at night walking around - a little scary sometimes.
For the price I paid I think it’s okay but nothing wow. PS Even if you stay within the scenic area you might have to buy an entrance ticket to the park to enter beware!"

- stained towels and bed linen (I wouldn't care, but this hotel is 4 times more expensive than cheap hostels I usually stay in China, so I expect more)
- I found a big spider the size of a hand in my room (but to be honest: I don't blame the owners for that because the spider could just come from the window, so it's not their fault)
- the staff doesn't speak English
Pros:
- It is the cheapest hotel with license to give an accommodation for foreigners in Zhaoxing.
- The receptionist came to my room immediately after my call in his free time and killed that spider I was talking about above. He is my hero! :)
- Apart of stained towels and bed linen the room was cleaner than other rooms in other hostels I stayed in China.
- The hotel has a good location just next to the town's gate.
- I have got a bottle of water for free and all toiletries."

"The location of the homestay is excellent, in the upper section of the ancient city of Dongzhai, it is convenient to enter and exit, and there are many restaurants and snack bars around. Due to the regulations, the car 🚗 cannot drive into Dongzhai. We communicated with the boss in advance. After arriving, the boss personally drove 🚗 to pick us up (also left). The boss has a good service attitude, easy to communicate, and took the initiative to upgrade our room. "A super comfortable travel experience! The guesthouse is quiet despite being in a bustling area, with an extremely expansive view. Most importantly, the owners are incredibly welcoming and genuinely kind!
Transportation: They provide a shuttle service. Apparently, the road around the village will be completed soon, leading directly to the guesthouse.
Environment: I chose this guesthouse specifically for its large terrace. In the evenings, we can sit on the terrace chatting, playing games, and listening to the sound of the stream. The photos are exactly as pictured – the decor is very clean, the mattress is comfortable, and the bathroom even has disposable towels – very thoughtful!
Service: The owners are truly dedicated to their business. They even treated us to cucumbers, and the rice noodles in the morning were delicious; I ate two big bowls! 😋
Activities: This is my second time visiting Zhaoxing Dong Village. Last time, I stayed inside the village, which was a bit noisy at night, so this time I specifically chose a spot at the highest point of the terraced fields – and it was definitely the right choice! The owners even helped arrange an electric scooter to take us to the guesthouse, and then we rode the scooter to Tang'an to watch the sunset over the terraced fields – absolutely beautiful!

Service: The boss and the housekeeper are super enthusiastic, from the high-speed rail station to the luggage handling to the play guide, everything is arranged properly. The boss also helped to contact the chartered car of the terraced fields, and then go back after watching the sunset with peace of mind, don't be afraid to miss the shuttle bus! The room is also very clean and comfortable, the facilities are very new, and the details of the smart toilet are full of quality. The most satisfying thing is the sound insulation effect. There is a stream at the door of the hotel. I was worried that the sound of running water would be very awkward at night. I knew that the balcony glass door would be silent as soon as it was closed. The rice noodles for breakfast are also very good. The homestay has freshly ground coffee. When we checked out in the morning, the boss also intimately asked us to pack coffee.
This stay experience is full, next time you come to Zhaoxing Dongzhai will choose here, and will recommend friends!

GGuest UserRecommended for those who love villages, terraced fields, and tranquility. Cleanliness: The room was exceptionally clean; there wasn't a speck of dust on the windowsill. It also had a smart toilet, which was very comforting, especially since my stomach was upset due to the recent cloudy and rainy weather.
Environment: Located in Tang'an Dong Village, the 270° panoramic view of the terraced fields is breathtaking. It's incredibly peaceful, and on clear nights you can even see the stars.
Service: They offer pick-up and drop-off service from the high-speed rail station. The landlady is incredibly kind and welcoming. Knowing we hadn't eaten dinner, she brought us porridge and fish; and worried we might get carsick on the early train journey along the winding mountain roads, she made us noodles to tide us over.
It was a very pleasant trip!

The guesthouse is located near the Lituan Drum Tower; it's easy to find using a map, and the main street is just a short walk away. The rooms were clean and tidy, with all necessary toiletries provided. It was very quiet at night, and the landlady was warm and friendly. The Dong New Year parade, the traditional rice-making activity, the long table banquet, the Lusheng (a type of reed pipe instrument) competition, and the bonfire party were all part of the vibrant activities. I experienced the customs and traditions of the Dong people in southeastern Guizhou Province – a truly worthwhile trip. Finally, congratulations to the Lituan team for winning the Lusheng competition!

Location and Transportation
Not far from the high-speed rail station, the hotel provides free pick-up and drop-off service, just contact in advance, saving the trouble of finding a car, especially convenient.
Room Experience
We live in a smart room type in the whole house. The lights, curtains, and air conditioners can be controlled by voice or panels. The operation is simple and the living is very comfortable. The room was cleaned very clean, the bed was moderately soft and hard, and it was quiet at night and slept soundly.
Food & Drink
The boss's restaurant must be praised! The dishes are home-cooked, but they are particularly delicious, the ingredients are fresh and the weight is sufficient.
Service attitude
The front desk sister is very enthusiastic, answer all questions, and the response is very fast, which makes people feel very intimate.

GGuest UserLocation of the hotel was really good, right next to the performance venue and about 10 minutes by foot from the drop off point of the shuttle bus. I liked the wooden interior or the room and the helpful staff. The only negative point would be that the room was really cold. The air conditioning worked on full power, but was not able to heat the room comfortably.

CCiCIshishiTo start with the good points, the service was indeed very good; the staff helped us carry our luggage upstairs. Books were also available for borrowing. The hotel's location was actually quite good; it wasn't on the main street, so it wasn't too noisy. It was also relatively close to the village entrance.
There were two things I didn't like:
First, the cleanliness: We were originally assigned a room with a mountain view (or something like that, not much of a view, since I haven't seen it, I don't know), but they upgraded us to a room with a river view. The tatami room had a strange pillar; to get to the other side, you had to step onto the bed or walk along the edge. Also, one of the bedside tables wasn't on the bedside table; we had to move it ourselves. Opening the drawers of both bedside tables, one had water left by the previous guest, and the other had a bag for clothes. The toilet paper roll we received had a section that was wet from the outside in.
Second, the facilities: I really want to complain about the bathroom. The water heater was right above the sink, and it was leaking (probably why the toilet paper was wet). Water kept dripping, soaking the toothbrush and other skincare products next to it. There wasn't even a place to put clothes in the shower. The placement of the toilet seat is problematic. Usually, it's placed outwards, so you can wear a cover to keep warm. But this one is placed all the way inwards, meaning you have to wear eight covers on top. As soon as you sit down, your legs will be freezing cold.

The landlady readily upgraded our room because of the view of the rice paddies from the window. However, there are many hidden costs in this scenic area. Although the owner provided pick-up from the train station, you still need to pay an additional 20 yuan to get to the high-speed rail station. Parking at the entrance costs 20 yuan, and the daily entrance fee is 80 yuan. If you want to visit the rice terraces, you need to pay for a sightseeing bus. Personally, I didn't find any good food inside the scenic area.
In short, unless you have a strong fascination with the architecture of Guizhou's ethnic minorities, I wouldn't recommend coming here.

GGuest UserB&Bs are all on stilts, and the wooden houses are not well insulated, so I just randomly booked this one. If you have trouble sleeping, you can choose to stay in a higher room or live outside the Dong Village. We live on the fourth floor. As soon as we entered the door of the B&B, the grandma who embroidered the sachets said to me ”Here we come” and it made me feel very warm. The boss will also pick us up at the entrance of Dong Village and help us carry our luggage. The landlady will wash and lay out the sheets and help us carry our luggage upstairs. He also asked us to walk softly, be quiet and respect each other. The room has plenty of hot water and the air conditioner is new. The location in the middle of the village is very lively. I thought it would be noisy when there was a bar singing at night, but it was okay. It's just that the height of the toilet room is low, and the roof leaks a little when it rains all the time. Before I left, I told the boss lady and she apologized to me🤦♀️ At night I only heard the sound of rain and the sounds of cats and roosters. When I woke up in the morning and opened the window, I saw rain hitting the tiles, and a kitten came to say hello. It feels like a family house. We are very careful when staying in it and even help to clean it up when leaving. I casually booked a B&B for a hundred yuan, and it turned out to be the most cost-effective B&B I’ve ever stayed in in Guizhou.
