"Barebones hotel for those who want to travel on a budget but don't want to stay in hostels/share a room with others. Comes with a bed, bathroom, small desk, TV and small closet. There's stuff like ~5 hangers, a hair dryers etc. but they also lack some basics like toiletries (you only have a 2-in-1 shampoo and shower gel; no toothbrush, shaving kit, etc.) and slippers. Service was adequate and 24/7 so that's a plus."

"The bed was comfortable and the bedding was very cozy. The bartenders at the counter were very helpful, and the coffee was delicious. It's very close to any metro station. Père Lachaise Cemetery is about a 20-minute walk from the hotel."

"We are delighted with our stay at Hôtel Maison Montparnasse. It is the cleanest hotel we have ever had the opportunity to stay in, and cleanliness is very important to us. From the moment we walked in, it smelled fresh and clean. We don't like staff entering our room when we're out, so we put the 'do not disturb' sign on the handle, and it was respected. Perfect. The air conditioning was much appreciated as it was very hot this June weekend. The hotel is very well located, quiet, and free from any disruptive noise. We ate out, so we can't comment on the hotel's food. We enjoyed the terrace/patio upon our arrival while waiting for our room to be ready, and it was very pleasant – cool and shady, very relaxing. Everything is tastefully renovated. The staff are pleasant. We won't hesitate to come back! 🥰 Thank you very much."

"Pros: The room was clean. Good soundproofing, even with a window facing the driveway, it was quiet. Decent location and good value for money. Cons: The paid luggage storage was not worth the price. The front desk staff deliberately let white people cut in line, which felt discriminatory. The communal showers were terrible, with unstable hot water. And the communal toilets were even worse – no toilet seats and covered in urine stains."

"Although there are minor details, you can tell the hotel is making a concerted effort to maintain the property. It's located in an area popular with young people, so there's noise from nearby pubs until the early morning. However, I booked knowing that this is typical for a lively, youthful area. If you're sensitive to noise, earplugs work wonders for a good night's sleep! The constant foot traffic actually makes it feel safer. Public transport is abundant, and it's easy to get around on foot. There are plenty of parks and sights to see. Dining, drinking, and shopping are all conveniently close by. The panini shop diagonally across the street is fantastic; the experienced gentleman who makes them creates paninis with perfect crispness and flavor. I've been to France about 20 times over the last 26 years, and I always make sure to have a panini, but these are truly exceptional. The kebabs and fries made by the younger gentleman were also delicious. I stayed in a room with a balcony on the 5th floor, which required climbing a few steps from the elevator to the room. Other reviews mentioned this, and I was prepared. I understood that given the building's structure, this was the only way to install the elevator. I imagine it would be challenging for older guests with large, fully packed suitcases (20kg+) during check-in and check-out. For everyday stays, it's not an issue at all. People say the elevator is small, but there are even smaller ones in other Paris hotels. The reception staff are very kind, even if you don't speak French. Sometimes, when there's a language barrier, you can really see people's true character. As someone who works in hotel management, specifically as an assistant manager in a 130-room city hotel, I'm always impressed by front desk staff who can offer such welcoming hospitality and respond to guests' needs with such dedication. The front desk team at Hotel Bastille Secret truly provided exceptional hospitality."

"Excellent! The room was clean and tidy, with a private bathroom. The double room was small but charming, and the price was quite reasonable. The only potential downside is its location near Paris Nord station; it takes a while to get to the city center by metro."

"Very good equipment and large room and large and comfortable bed. Mobile air conditioning was also because the location was 10/10 with supermarket directly 1min walk away just like a bakery and several restaurants Max 2-5min. And reception very friendly and lovely. Would book again here."

First of all, the location is super convenient — it’s right next to the metro station, which made getting around the city very easy, especially for a solo traveler. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming — honestly the friendliest people I met during my stay in Paris. They made me feel safe and at home even though I was traveling alone.The room was very clean and tidy. It faced a small alley, so it was really quiet at night and I slept very well. "The staff here are so friendly. When I checked in, I had a little trouble connecting to the Wi-Fi, but I asked the front desk and they were really helpful—they walked me through it step by step. On checkout day, just as I was leaving my room, a housekeeper came by and she was so sweet; she insisted on helping me take my luggage to the elevator. Check-in and checkout were both super fast. The area around the hotel is nice and quiet, and it felt really safe. It's only a few minutes' walk to the metro station. The room was clean and comfortable, and housekeeping came every day. Breakfast was delicious too! Would definitely stay here again!"
