"There are three Japanese-style rooms, all located on the second floor of the box burger restaurant, but it is quiet at night and you don't have to worry about being disturbed. The staff is very enthusiastic and patient, and speaks fluent English. Hot springs require reservations. One room has two reservation opportunities per night, one in the morning and one in the evening. After the reservation is successful, you can enjoy it alone. The room is made of wood, and the overall clean and elegant, but the sound insulation and stability are not very good. Guests in three rooms share a washbasin and toilet, and need to make their own beds (but it's very simple). It is suitable for guests who want to experience Japanese houses. Overall, it's good."

"Not worth the price, I'm not sure why it's so expensive. The room was tiny and the facilities were old. I booked this room and it was in a separate building, so I had to go outside and cross to the opposite side, although it was quite close. To go to the hot springs and then back to the main building. There's not much to do around here either. The bus routes were unclear, and I ended up taking the wrong bus, which forced me to experience various modes of transport in one day: trams, buses, boats, cable cars, and a mountain climbing cable car..."

"Traditional style; we booked a room with private outdoor onsen. We tried both private onsen and communal onsen but honestly the water in communal ones was hotter, if you don’t mind sharing the onsen with others. The dinner set and breakfast set were excellent! The room and common facilities were clean and tidy, and I don’t feel they were worn. Although the staff (the receptionist) might not be good in English speaking, they tried their best and used mobile app translator to explain to us patiently the rules and arrangements for our stay. For us, the price is reasonable with such high quality of service and facilities!"

"If you're particular about dust on windowsills and walls, or the hygiene of bedding (excluding the covers), you might want to reconsider booking. While the duvet cover was clean, it's just a single cover, so as you toss and turn in your sleep, your body inevitably touches the duvet itself. However, considering the insane accommodation prices in Hakone, this place is incredibly, truly cheap! The location requires taking a bus to get anywhere, but the bus stop is close by. Be warned, Japanese rural bus schedules are a real headache! Make sure to check the bus times carefully for both your inbound and outbound journeys. Plan your day by checking the timetable for each bus route, otherwise, you could easily waste an hour or two. The staff are incredibly friendly. I met different staff members upon arrival, during my stay, and at check-out, and they were all genuinely super friendly. In short: Would I book here again if I revisited Hakone? Yes!"

"This hostel in the hot spring town is incredibly cost-effective. It took some getting used to on the first day, but we found it quite nice after a while. We stayed several nights and had many European and American guests, including some families and a South American couple. They probably preferred the hostel's atmosphere. You can buy food at the Lawson convenience store in town and store it in the fridge, then have breakfast in the communal kitchen. Since the shops on the street stay open quite late in the morning, it's very convenient, affordable, and quiet."

"This is the first time I've stayed in a hostel with an onsen! The onsen while small, does the job, and the outdoor onsen was really peaceful at night. I booked a queen bed for 2 people and it was spacious enough for me to hold all my belongings. Hostel staff were really friendly as well. One thing to note though is if you're planning to stay here, getting here from Hatsune-Yumato station requires a very steep climb up the road and a trek through the forest, so do NOT attempt to walk here yourself! Take the K-line bus instead, which drops you 100m away from the hostel."

"This is one of the best experience I have ever had! A very friendly owner + impeccable service. They offer pick-up drop-off services at togendai and oishishita, and when I asked whether they can drop off the luggage at Gora they said yes!!! Saved me so so much time!! Great room, not the most luxurious but definitely comfy. Be aware there is no private showers though. But needless to say, when theres an onsen why would you need a private shower! The onsen is great in a sense that since it's a small hotel, there was rarely anybody. It's almost like a private onsen. The water temperature of the inner one is just right, but the outdoor one, when it's snowing is quite cold. Also, the outdoor onsen had some debris as well. So the quality of the onsen isnt top notch but for the price, it's already way above my expectations. (Also you can see mount fuji as you are enjoying the onsen!) Only downside is the location. When they offer very good pick-up and drop off services, the luggage system from the railway doesn't include this hotel. This forced me to start the trip at togendai (you could ask then to simply pick up your luggage). Not a big problem if I have known this beforehand, but I had to change plans and get on the pirate ship first, so be aware!! Overall. 10/10 experience. Good price, good room, excellent service. Would come again definitely!!"

"It's such a beautiful place! I strongly recommend it to anyone who comes to Hakone! The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils. Very beautiful and cozy lounge and dining area. Onsen is also good, if you go there late at night, it will be all yours. There is a 7-11 nearby, a very nice local bakery, and a fish shop just around the corner if you walk downhill from the property. I bought fresh sashimi, fish and bread every day. I will definitely come back!"

"Very good service for an affordable price. I stayed two nights in female dormitory, the bed is spacious even the top one,I was provided with towels and a kimono-style robe, which was very comfortable. There are two private onsens in the inn, you can reserve any of them the day before. Also, there is a small kitchen with cooks, you can order a breakfast and a dinnir a la carte, which is very convenient. The only downside is that you have to bring the luggage uphill when checking in, but it is not a problem when checking out because there is a free transfer provided each morning to the Gora station."
